My partner couldn't stop singing the praises of beef on weck. We were in Niagara Falls at the end of September, and we came out here based on the reviews. We did not realize that they are about 10 miles from downtown Niagara Falls. It was so good, we came back the next day. They are extremely well worth the drive. A nice simple place, you can order outside in the front of the building, or inside. They have seating both areas. Everybody was friendly, and the prices were reasonable. They have won awards for their beef on Weck, and I can see why. You can get it with anywhere from 2 1/2 ounces for a lighter eater,, to a whopping 8 ounces of roast beef. The roast beef was tender and wonderfully flavored, the jus that they dip the top half of the roll in was heavenly, and I loved the kummelweck roll with the caraway seeds and salt. I can see why my partner is always singing the praises of this sandwich, and why it is a mainstay of the Buffalo area, For dessert, both times my partner had the frozen custard. The first time, I had the canoli ice cream. Delicious! It actually had pieces of canoli in it. The second time, I had the custard, and it was creamy and delicious. Much better than your standard soft serve. They are closed for the season, but they will reopen in March of 2024. . The next time we are in the area, we would stop by in a heartbeat. We tried both the custard AND the beef at Adrian's on our visit. Hubby and I both ordered Beef on Weck sandwiches. Neither of us had ever had them before and weren't 100% sure what we were doing when ordering. We both agreed we weren't fans of the weck bun with the salt and caraway (I think?) seeds on top. We'd opt for a plain bun next time. The meat was juicy and tender and I loved the addition of little cups of horseradish in the condiment area. After eating dinner, we had to go back for ice cream. Hubby wanted to try two flavors so he ordered two scoops. PSA: you don't need two scoops!!! No human should be able to eat more than one scoop at this place: the scoops were rivaling the size of Hubby's head! I should have ordered the kids size of custard because the regular was also huge. Nice place with a pretty big menu, especially ice cream & sandwiches. When we visited during the pandemic, there was a long line of people spaced 6' from one another...employees call you to a window wherre you place your order, then call your name when the order was ready. There is a spacious lawn without any seating. Most people take their food to their cars. Bringing a camp chair would make you more comfy if you want to spend any time there eating outdoor for a safe socially distanced experience during nice weather. read more

Serving size vs the price is insane. I paid $6.50 for this fry . The lid didn't fit my drink so I spilled it walking back to my cabin ... then I opened the bag to find out I didn't get a single napkin. I paid $29 for a sandwich , an order of fries, a medium fountain drink, and a small overcooked cheeseburger. I'm really disappointed. An A-OK place in Grand Island to grab a quick sandwich. The custard looked great too and it seems like they have some gluten free and dairy free desserts as well, but while I was here with a few people we just wanted a quick bite. I grabbed two chicken sandwiches and one beef on weck. The chicken sandwich was average - nothing standout about it, but it had a nice white piece of chicken, two bread rolls, tomato, lettuce and some mayo on request. A simple sandwich, but no standout ingredients that made me want to come back for more. My friend who had the beef on weck seemed satisfied as well. Beef on Weck!! It's all I wanted as I drove towards Niagara Falls from Kansas City. We got to our hotel and had a drink on the rooftop bar. In talking with a really nice couple, we found Adrian's! Oh my was I lucky to find this spot!! We ordered 2 sandwiches and fries! Those sandwiches were so delicious!! It was everything I was thinking about for the last 1000 miles! This place would totally deserve a 5 for flavor but I'm giving it a 4 because of the experience we had with the staff. It is pretty clear that they were not trained. We went on Saturday around 2-3pm and it wasn't too busy. We ordered a large s'mores sundae to split and immediately the girl working the counter gave us a look of disbelief. With attitude and her hands flying she says, " you're gonna have to explain to me what that is" I then told her it was on the menu and pointed to the spot where we saw it. She had no idea how to make it so she asked the manager. The manager states it was soft serve with hot fudge, marshmallow fudge, brownie pieces, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. She definitely did not fully hear because she gave us pie pieces? Fine, just not what we were expecting. She then proceeded to give us a very messy container with ice cream getting all over the side which we then cleaned up. The sundae itself was lacking. Very little toppings what so ever. The custard itself was divine and probably the best I've had in WNY. Pretty disappointing compared to other ice cream shops. If you go here I do not recommend a sundae. Instead opt for just some soft serve. They also serve beef on weck here which we did not try but looked great! If you're not feeling either of those options they also have a full bar! I took my child here for a special treat a few weeks ago since we were in the area. We ordered a banana split and cheese fries to share. The banana split was delicious, but the container was overloaded with toppings, making it a bit difficult to eat without things spilling over the side. They happily modified the banana split to our request (twist ice cream and sprinkles instead of peanuts). The cheese fries were also good. The fries themselves were very crispy, and they included the cheese sauce on the side since I wasn't sure if we'd be able to eat everything there. Right now their indoor dining is closed, but they have several picnic tables you can eat at outside. DEVINE GLUTEN FREE & DAIRY FREE DESSERTS Went here on the sole premise that I saw ONLINE that they had gluten free AND dairy free Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches and my mind was BLOWN! The cookie sandwich was the size of my face essentially and could not even tell that it was gluten free - there WAS peanut butter in the cookie (so sorry for nut allergies) but it was not overpowering, but obviously used as the binding agent - the chocolate chips were a plentiful and there was at least an inch of icecream sandwiched between the two ginormous cookies. Then, because I am gluttonous, I also ordered a dish of the "Temptation" which came in strawberry or vanilla - I ordered Vanilla and it was soft serve gluten free ice cream - AMAZING (tapioca based I believe). I cannot believe I have NEVER heard of this place before and now know where I will make a pit stop each time I am in the area. FYI - MAKE SURE YOU EXPLAIN THAT VEGAN DOES NOT MEAN GLUTEN FREE. I can't believe I live on Grand Island and have never tried this place until today. Best Beef on Weck I've had in the area. The horseradish is fresh and strong. The beef had a great flavor with no fat or grizzle. The roll was fresh and delicious. Their curly fries are also very good. Their Ice cream is also very good. XL Beef on Weck was a nice size serving, and the meat was tasty, lean, and flavorful. Weck bun was well salted and soft on the inside with firm but not crunchy bun top. If you're on or near Grand Island Adrian's is the place to go and can't be beat for quality and freshness. Last year they moved across the street to their new location with indoor dining available. Covid procedures has caused them to close the dining room but everything is still available at their walk up windows. They have social distancing procedures all in place so there's no need to worry when getting your summer favorite treats. Don't want to wait, call ahead and have your order waiting for you when you arrive. I'm personally looking forward to the future when life returns to normal and my grandson is a bit older. Adrian's excels in their two main claims to fame: roast beef sandwiches and frozen custard. It's really hard to say who has the very best roast beef sandwich. Their roast beef is certainly right up there among my favorites. Tender, delicious, and expertly seasoned. Their frozen vanilla and chocolate custard is also at the very top in flavor and quality. I taste a hint of tapioca in the vanilla custard. They pre-salt curly fries pretty heavily. I ask for them to be salt-free and they are happy to accommodate. I explored their menu and had several different items (Italian sausage, chicken, etc), and they were all very good. YUM!!! The gluten free products were so delicious I couldn't even tell they were gluten free! I wish they would sell their products at chain grocery stores! We got the beef weck (gluten free and one regular one). Such a simple sandwich but full of flavor. Absolutely delicious! We also got a bacon burger and the gluten free chicken fingers. So delicious.
