Adding two more stars but there's a quick story behind the change. I again called the offshore call center--who admitted they had no way to transfer me to a supervisor "in the States" so I asked for corporate headquarters phone number. Of course I was given the wrong number which was also the wrong state. A quick search gave me the actual corporate headquarters office in Florida. Called the phone and got myself in the right queue. The call was answered by lady in help center support--customer relations. What does it say about any U.S. based company that they only way to get real customer service IS TO CALL THE US-BASED CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPARTMENT? A very sad commentary on how low these companies place quality customer service below profits. But the lady did expedite the return of the long lost install tech who finished the job the following week. And thanks to her I got a call from an extremely friendly and helpful tech support guy named Anthony who walked me through the basic features and use of our new security system even though we were over an hour on the phone. Anthony requested that I fill out the survey on him which I'd get after our phone call. Still waiting, Anthony. I mentioned the missing survey to customer relations lady and got no response. But she did make two follow up calls to verify that both tech support and the equipment install had been done. That was nice. So if you're reading this review, Anthony, I'd give ADT five stars if all its customer service staff provided your high caliber of service and were all worked out of offices located onshore. read more

Very very bad experience with ADT. Please NEVER trust this company. I was with ADT many years ago. It was broken two years ago and they were not able to repair. They offered to free upgrade the device with the 3 years contract. After signing the contract, there was no promised upgrades and keep charging me. A few months later, ADT charged me the cancellation fee. The agents are cheating, transferring my calls to different agents with long waiting. Avoid ADT!!!! read more

Absolutely the worst customer service on the phone. No wonder why AI bots will replace people. Their billing statement still lists my old address of 8 years ago and every month they bill me for 2 addresses then refund my old address. Makes zero sense. I have ADT security for the last 5 1/2 years recently upgrading , adding only camera on the existing ADT security . The price goes from 31 to 65 because of the camera. That was fine . The camera were recording for two hours event only and didn't make sense. I was not satisfied with the services and request for the dismounting .After a week they dismounted the camera and the price stick to 65 with out camera . Ontop of that they started charging me for the device it was installed 5 years ago which I already completed the payment taking as it is new installation . now paying 100$ . Couples of times called the customer service no one able to resolve the billing issue. The technician person who came to install the comers took my personal cameras and denied me . It seems like there is no any professional ethics in the company. I have decided to disconnect the contract , getting new service provider for home security with better service and price. I have had ADT for 30 years, way back they used to be a good company. I noticed a huge change roughly 5 years ago. They now use 3rd party untrained service tech's. To try and resolve an active alarm over the phone is impossible. DON'T EVER use this company. The signs around your house are a deodorant but the system its self is a joke. Where do I start with my complaint about ADT? I contacted and signed up with ADT in February 2025 and have had nothing but problems with the service and equipment. This company says they can make your house and property safe and secure... but in reality, this company is inept in everything they touch, and their customer service is the worst. I don't think anybody talks to one another, and in my opinion, they are either new at their jobs or they just aren't effective at them. I've had numerous calls into the service center for a door pad that won't lock and doesn't open when codes are punched into the pad, an alarm that does not register when the front door is opened but then starts counting down when I opened the back door, and cameras that, in my opinion, are subpar. The only thing that does what it is supposed to do are the floodlights; I know this because they are on all the time. The door chimes work only sometimes. Updates that are sent out by ADT to the lock pads erase the memory, making the pad not work. I know this happened once to my daughter; I had to leave work early just to let her into the house. For about two months, the app wouldn't open on my phone, and my wife's phone was pretty much the same way. There are control pads that hook up to neighbors' internet, and a control station that loses internet all the time and has never been moved; the technician placed it there himself. The hoops this company makes you jump through to get the six-month money-back guarantee are exhausting; and be sure you will be told there were delays with the response to cancel your service. I know because I just got told today that mine was going to take an additional five business days on top of the ten I've already waited, meaning I still can't get my house secured by a better company until ADT comes to remove their equipment. In all of the service calls we had a technician come to fix the problems, a few of the technicians mentioned that the new equipment is subpar and that they get quite a few cancellation calls. To wrap this up, I will say that ADT is a shady company that sells subpar equipment at a very high price and their customer service is atrocious. read more

DO NOT USE ADT IF YOU HAVE ANY CHOICE They delayed the opening of our business by months. Not only did they lock us into a 5 year contract, the install was delayed over and over and we could not open until the fire detection system was installed. They charged us over $8K (!!!) for the install in a 2500 sqft space - then, when we had to move before the end of the 5 year contract THAT WE DIDN'T WANT, gave us no option but to pay out another $4k (!!!) because the next tenant didn't want to take over the $170/month monitoring service that they don't need. To top it all off the regional manager Michelle could not have been more rude and unhelpful. I never ever want to work this company again. read more

ADT is the worst alarm service you could have. The systems are great but you better not need help or service after it is installed. You have to literally fight with them if you want someone to come to your house. If you try and work with them over the phone, get ready for a long wait and a lot of frustration. read more

Just like another reviewer said, our alarm goes off at midnight. Every night. That's whether the alarm is "armed" or not. Nothing in our house is setting it off. It's the "glass break"alarm. We have had a tech out multiple times. Each time he insists that it's fixed now. It's not, it never has been fixed. It's completely unusable. Then they want to charge you to have the techs come out, or to cancel your contract. This company is at best incompetent, and at worst, fraud. read more

Do not use this company for your own good. The technician that came in to install my things told me that I could cancel anytime and the contract that I was signing was giving them permission to install things in my home. This turned out not to be true. Due to having a newborn and going down to a single income I called to negotiate a cancelation. They wanted to charge me over $1,000. I asked to escalate to a supervisor because I was calling because we cannot afford the $75 payment. They refused, and they told me I would go to collection. This is a horrible scamming company that takes advantage of people by lying and misleading them. read more

ADT is a complete joke. I've been bait and switched by this "security company" multiple times in the past year. I've been a customer for nearly 20 years. After my home was burglarized (when the system was active) they promised they would pay $500 towards my insurance deductible. This was a complete lie and they did not fulfill their promise. When I tried to rectify this issue they stopped responding to my calls and texts. Beware if you're dealing with District Area Manager, Simar Khataytu. He lied to me multiple times and then pulled a disappearing act. When my contract is up I'm going elsewhere. read more

I've had ADT for over two years. Their wait times to speak to someone is atrocious. Their tech that installed was awful. He did not use the right size wire and he did not install it properly. Doorbell never worked. They sent an incompetent to install and they charged me when my alarm went off legitimately. Even the local Seattle Washington Police told me they were terrible. Not responsive and not professional in handling emergency calls. I should have listened. I refuted the "false alarm call charge" and ADT did nothing. My alarm auto sets randomly and they say it's impossible. I had a new honest tech out yesterday who said it was a failed installation from the onset. They had the nerve to charge me for the house call yesterday. Calling them is excruciating as it's minimum 45 mins to hold. They could not help me with the fraudulent charges and was told to call their account management. Never again! DO NOT USE ADT. They lie, they do not live up to the minimum standards of a security company. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. @ADT you should be ashamed of your company. read more

I was fooled into the deal two years ago without awareness of huge penalties for a termination of services before the contract expires. There may be some fine print in the contract, but the sales person did not inform me of the huge penalties of an early termination. They merely said "wherever you move, we move it for free", but they didn't say if you cancel, we will charge you heavily. That's not the right way to do business read more

I have been with ADT since I got my first home in 1998. I also have them covering my business. They were a fantastic company. over the last two years they fell off a CLIFF. in the past month I have spent over 8 Hours+ on hold and talking to numerus customer service agents that basically know nothin.... Then transferring me from agent to agent. From being triple billed, old locations not being old still sitting as current location. New locations being disconnected.... charging my credit card $1144.00 and they couldn't tell me why. Equipment falling off the walls/windows. and them canceling the wrong locations... Yesterday I was feeling like I was finally getting some where and they where coming out to program the system today. They Just called canceling after they were to be here for the appointment. They told me to call back into the 800 number to reschedule. I asked to speak with upper management ad they will not transfer the call and hung up. The experience with ADT HAS BEEN TERRIBLE! All anyone including myself is give the customer what they signed up for and be accountable. I look at it this way.... I gave them 100% of my money.... I want 100% of the service! read more

Compared to the nightmare that is Red Safety, ADT has been a dream. They showed up on time for installation with exactly what I had asked for - there was some debate about where to put the panel and I found that they ultimately installed it where my thermostat is supposed to be (hence 4 star right now - they will be out tomorrow to move it). I was getting annoyed because I could not seem to find a security option for my mothers house. No internet, no phone line. ADT had the solutions I needed without having to go get other services. They were upfront with cost and pricing - no surprises. The system actually works. There is a handy phone app. The city cut the power to the house for work - it alerts you that there's a problem with your panel. This company actually moniters the equipment as well. So if I have a fire, I'm confident the service will work. And if the equipment breaks down, I will at least be alerted to that. It's nice to have a company that actually monitors it's equipment. read more

When selling me an ADT security system, Matt Lundstrom with Safe Haven Security Services in Bellevue lied about multiple things, including: 1) I'd receive a $100 Visa card within 6-8 weeks of system installation. After many, many, many attempts to get it, they finally sent it over 9 weeks later. 2) There's no sales tax on ADT services in Washington. I asked for a 3-month credit ($50/month, $150 total) to compensate me for the additional out-of-pocket costs. They refused. The sales reps for Safe Haven Security Services in Bellevue not only lie about the Visa card/taxes, after the system is installed, they then refer you to the fine print in the contract they rushed you into signing that basically disavows any responsibility for ANY of the sales reps' promises. SO READ THE CONTRACT AND QUESTION THE SALES REPS ABOUT THE CONTRADICTIONS, BEFORE INSTALLATION. Their installers spend over 2 hours trying to hard-sell you things you don't want and then rush through installing the sensors, meaning they slip and fall off, setting off the alarm, terrifying the companion animals, and barring rearming of the system. They then take 5 days to fix the system. So, buyer beware. I will say, on the plus side, I like the system, when it's functioning properly. It's easy to use and seems to be reliable when the sensors are installed correctly. One thing Safe Haven Security Services in Bellevue doesn't tell you is they're just independent contractors and you can buy the system directly from ADT without all the lies and problems. Or that, 13 months after you sign with them to install the system, ADT will buy your contract from them, and you won't have to deal with them anymore. I'm counting down the months. read more

It will record for 30 seconds then stop, but records every three minutes and sends me an Email so you might get a 30 second shot of someone walking up to your car and a 30 second shot of them walking away from it but what they do is completely missed. Absolute garbage and I'm on the hook for THREE YEARS. Do your research, would not recommend. Have to delete over a hundred Emails every day and cannot figure out their system AT ALL. TRASH read more

BUYER BEWARE: the "early" cancellation fee is HUGE. ADT isn't transparent when communicating contract requirements. If you need to end a contract early, you pay 75% of the contract balance. I cancelled my system 3 years early because I was relocating. I moved to an apartment building with keyed access. I was charged $1,200 for the cancellation!!! I was a customer for 15 years, at two different residences. Absolutely *not* customer facing and they've lost a customer for life. read more

This company has been a nightmare to work with. After our system was initially set up, it wasn't a week before alarms started going off at 2 in the morning. First off I was put on hold for about a half hour (w alarms still going off), and you will always be on hold with this company. They do not hire enough people to work their phones. I was passed around from person to person, after three or four phone calls and speaking to five people, I finally found someone to tell me how to disconnect the system. They sent out a repairman, five days later, and the repairman promised all would be well. Midnight that night alarms began going off again. At least that time I knew how to shut the system down. Another round of repairs, another set of alarms going off, and we turned the system off for good. Not to mention the many promises to call back in a few days and see how things were going. None of which ever happened. Finally, since we're moving out of the country, I called to shut it all off for good. After having to speak with one after another of their insincere creepy sales people, I was finally told I'd have to pay the remaining balance of my contract. I'd get a bill in two weeks or so. Five days later, (Hey! for once they came through!) I got a bill for $1070, and you know what? I paid it because that way I'll never have to deal with those creeps again. read more
