Hands down the worst yard I've been to in 25 years if wrenching. Prices are ridiculous and non-negotiable. Inventory is extremely inaccurate, and the yard is an absolute disaster. They don't even pull the wheels off, but they pillage all the trunks so there's no lug wrenches floating around. Several of the cars with wheels still on are not even stabilized properly to make wheel removal safe. Every time I think it might be worth the time savings of stopping here instead of their competitors I'm proven wrong. It's barely a functional salvage yard and more often than not a complete waste of time. Just use car-part.com or wrench-a-part. You'll be glad you did. read more

It's a typical self-service junkyard, much like Pick n Pull in other cities. Get the parts pricing online in case they try to jack the prices up or misprice parts at the window - https://www.lkqpickyourpart.com/locations/LKQ_Pick_Your_Part_-_Austin-234/prices/ (this is why you have a fully charged smartphone with you). $3 to get in. Bring more tools than you think you'll need. There's often other people out there who may or may not help you if you forget a tool, I had someone loan me an electric ratchet when I forgot my regular ratchet set in the car, only had basic wrenches in my bag (and didn't want to pay the $3 again). They WILL look through your stuff on your way out. There's also Wrench A Part in Del Valle, but that's a lot further for me, and they rarely have my car model. read more

Cashier ripped me off for $20 cash at checkout, even though I just withdrew the money $300 from the bank and went straight to the scrap yard and now I'm $20 short after visiting. Then we had to ask for $54 back for the 90 day warranty since they said their system automatically charges for a warranty cost on each item, even though they never mentioned they charges, they just say hey these items come with a 90 day warranty all the wile charging you som outrageous price for some used scrap yard parts. BEWARE PEOPLE READ YOUR RECEIPTS AND COUNT YOUR MONEY DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THEM and don't do business with the guy that leaves his window lowered so you can't see him :/ The rip-off cashier only leave his window cracked open about 4" so you can't see him pocket your money. read more

If you need a part, you can go online and see if they have a car like yours. You can also see when it came in because the vultures will strip it fast. All the cars are raised off the ground, so you can get parts under the car too. Prices are extremely low, so come get that part you are looking for for your car. I got a brake proportioning valve for my Saturn ion that no one manufacturers anymore for 15.00, when they used to sell for $45 online. Bring your own tools and bring more than you need, and bring bottled water because you can't bring your car inside, and you may have to walk a couple hundred yards. read more

I had an appointment for them to pick up a car I was selling them. Saturday came and went and no one called or came. I called and the operator said she didn't know what happened, but saw that no phone call was ever made to me. She apologized and said she would contact her lead. 24 hrs later I haven't heard anything. Literally the worst customer service I've ever experienced. read more

Entrance guy lacks customer service. Hes angry At life. The warranty info on website needs to clearly state that if you don't "buy" their warranty, you can't get a refund. We purchased a hood and it didn't fit. We brought it back for return the next day and were told cuz we didn't "buy" the 90 day guarantee, we could not return it. The site does not say you "must buy" guarantee to get a refund. We called the 800 number and were told we could return w/receipt. Lied! Angry guy said no Because we didn't purchase 90 day guarantee. Not a bad salvage yard. There are better and there are worse. I've been out pulling from a Toyota Tacoma over the past week. I pulled a body section consisting of a driver's side rocker panel and front door hinge post. Upon check out, I was not asked if I wanted to pay the guarantee so they charged me $18 on a $62 part. I didn't notice it till I got home an looked at the receipt. If you don't want the guarantee be sure to state this upfront or they will charge you a substantial percentage. Of course, I didn't need a guarantee on a part I planned to weld onto my truck but thy do it automatically without notice in that case. read more

They will steal your money. Firstly, charged me for an aluminum wheel instead of an alloy wheel. There's a difference and the guy at the counter insisted there wasn't. Whatever, paid the extra $40 because I thought I needed the part. Didn't end up needing it and returned it a few days later. They said the money would be back on my card in 2-3 days. Never got it. Went back in with receipts and everything and they said they couldn't do anything about it. Lol. "90 day warranty" is such a scam. read more

This LKQ company in Austin will not pick up your dead vehicle, period. The 1-800 number appointment operator will make the appointment from out of town, but the Austin owned company will not keep that obligation. I waited all day for my appointment to be kept for a salvage pickup, and I called that LKQ operations desk 3 times (several hours in between each call) to check the status of the arrival of the Austin driver to pick up my salvaged vehicle. The out of town appointment operators lied each time. And the Austin driver never arrived. This Austin company is worthless for picking up local salvage. I have no doubt they will take your salvage if you deliver it. But they will not waste the time or money to buy your salvage if they have to drive to pick it up. So do NOT waste your effort in dealing with them this way. read more

Absolutely poor customer service. I went there just a small part for my jeep and I was turned away for not having a mask. Half the people there weren't wearing or weren't wearing one correctly. I returned with a banana and again turned away cause I wasn't wearing the proper shoes. You think that's something they could have told the first time? No they're too stupid and unprofessional. The "customer service" and management experience was HORRIBLE! Paid a cover charge of $2 JUST to enter and ask if they had a part. After waiting at the window for about 10 mins I finally caught a lady who said "someone is coming to help me". Mind you there were maybe two other customers this rainy day. She then sat in full view of me and began a very loud and obnoxious cell phone conversation with many profanities. She then had her kids walk in, and began running amok in this place of business, to whom she had to yell at to "sit down and shut up". After she saw I was just standing there an seeing all this transpire she actually closed the window I was waiting in front of without saying anything else to me. Another 5 minutes or so passed and a gentleman FINALLY began to assist me. My first question to him was "who was the helpful lady that I talked to?" Not wanting to let him know why I was actually asking. He informed me that her name was Amy. Anyhow, he told me the part I was looking for was indeed in stock, and pointed me in the right direction. After a little searching I did find what I was looking for and went to purchase my item. Waiting in line again, I see "Amy" and what appears to be another hispanic employee making out in full view of me. It was quickly ended when another customer walked up. When I began the purchasing transaction I was helped by a different employee then before. She priced the part differently and more expensively then I was previously told. I asked to talk to a person in charge and here comes Amy. After being talked to with such attitude and refusing to honor the original charge I left without purchasing anything and wasting about an hour and a half of my life. 1/10 Never returning! Scheduled a car pick up several days in advance and was given a three hour time window to wait. Took time off work since they only pick up during the work day. No one ever showed up, and calling them just yielded a request to reschedule since they don't pick up after 4. Not worth your time if you're trying to sell your vehicle to them. read more

My dad is attempting to sell a car to them they initially told him it will be picked up between 10 and 12 am. When i called at 11:30 turns out they didnt even have him scheduled so they said well we ment between 10 and 3 its now 2:30 we just callled and tjey claim we are next will update if they show up. read more

First impression was great with having tons of parts available with amazing prices. Since you have to find the part yourself, and they don't catalog parts, I had no idea the rim I got wasn't the right one. I also purchased a tire from them that was defective it turned out. Tried to return the items 4 days later WITH a receipt and they told me they couldn't accept them because they weren't marked. They NEVER said anything about having to have the items marked to be returned and it was so busy that day, the sign they put up was not able to be seen due to how busy it was. I couldn't do anything with the rim or tire so they were left at the salvage yard. The fact there was my receipt and was willing to give them the product should have clarified. They made the mistake and refused to do anything about it. So in the end they got my money and their product back. Will never recommend this place to anyone. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the staff was so nice on the first visit. read more

Never Again! Went by and asked if they had any GM truck seats for 1999-2006 out in the yard. They told me, yea plenty of them! I paid my 2 dollars to get in, and pulled the heavy damn cart all the way up the hill to where the trucks were, only to find not a single set of seats after over an hour of searching. The trucks had been picked clean! Paid 2 dollars and wasted 2 hours to find nothing in the yard. It is just ridiculous to pay a 2 dollar cover charge, when they don't even have what you want!
