I went to Advanced Auto Parts earlier this week in need of a new battery. John and Chris who were working that night were fantastic! They were so helpful with getting me a reasonably priced battery and installed in properly in my car in about 20 minutes! During the install, they even helped give me some guidance on an issue I was having with my passenger side mirror. I'm so glad I went there. Their customer service and professionalism was great! They messed up my car. Went in for a new car battery. I'm a mid 20 year old girl, they totally took advantage of me. Charged me an outrageous amount for a car battery, claiming it was the only one they had left. They installed the battery for me, but completely ruined my clock and radio. When I asked about it, he shrugged and said earlier models don't do that. I stayed inside the store it was a 2008 model. Now I'm trying to fix my messed up car. So upset. read more

ABSOLUTELY the worst costumer service ever. ordered rotors on line, in put all vehicle info. Rotors are too small, went to exchange told me they would not . Called corporate to complain was told I can exchange because the website said exact match . GUESS what they don't fit!!!!!! and the kicker is they make you return the original so the money doesn't come into your account for up to 10 days and they did not honor the online discount!!!!!!!!!!!! So now I'll be out this return for another 10 days so total I'm out over 475 dollars and no rotors.......... absolutely the worst policy ever. I purchased a pigtail for my car and it didn't fit and they refused to accept it back brand new in the box. We bought wrong thing and exchanged for the one they said would work and it was wrong part.Fisrt they said would do an even exchange then when had what I was exchange for they said they made a mistake and wouldn't even do that and told me to sell it on E-bay. When I first went in to exchange they were so busy and the manager told the person waiting on me to just do it and he would take the blame so they could get the other people in line out quicker . I stopped there forgetting why we never used their over priced parts the previous 20+ yrs we'd avoided their nonsense. Unfortunately the shop went out of business with corona-19s downturn last May/2020. But having my windshield wipers rubber crack off I stopped there and asked the night mgr.(12/23/20) for a small assist on 1(ONE) simple Windshield Wiper reinstall because my hands were freezing. I now remember why not going there became commonplace. The mgr. said despite my circumstance I"D HAVE TO BUY ONE THERE FOR ANY ASSISTANCE. 1 for 8.99/to 26.99 EA. despite having one I'd purchased years earlier incase something like this happened for under an odd 5 bucks. This is your typical, run-of-the-mill chain auto parts store. The address is misleading - they're not actually on Route 1, they're a little off it, behind Walgreen's. Not much to say about this other than, it's here. The Pep Boys in Dedham has a far better selection of just about everything, but if you need something run-of-the-mill, you'll probably find it here. (Still no truck nuts, though, and their selection of obnoxious trailer hitch covers is decidly poor.) read more

When AAA failed me twice when I was trying to get a replacement battery for my car after the past storm (apparently they "ran out" and wouldn't be able to deliver one for a few days), one of the technicians recommended that I go to Advance Auto Parts for a replacement and installation. I should have done that from the beginning! A very nice man helped me determine which battery I needed and installed it himself in 5 minutes. The price was even a few dollars cheaper then AAA and the battery was comparable! I will return for Advance Auto Parts in the future. read more

Advance Auto Parts used to be one of the only places in the area to get auto parts in the area. In recent days, O'Reilly Auto Parts opened up the street, and multiple other auto store have popped up in the area. Advance Auto Parts in Norwood is on the older side and isn't always the cleanest. It normally has all the auto essentials, and some of the accessories that really aren't necessary. While it isn't the most modern store, or compare to the newer Dedham Advance Auto Parts, it's still a fine place to shop. Staff are sort of like robots. I haven't found ONE outstanding employees throughout the last ten years or more of myself shopping here. Sort of disappointing. Plus, they haven't updated it in years and it could use both an exterior and interior facelift! Even though the address is on Route 1 (981 Providence Highway), the store is accessible via the Dean Street exit off Route 1 or off Dean Street at the Walgreens interchange. 4 stars. read more

Normally I go to autozone, but I really needed windshield wipers and this was on the way. Unfortunately, every person I encountered was not just unfriendly and unhelpful, but rude as well. A sign offered free wiper installation, but when checking out, the cashier didn't offer it. My boyfriend went back into the store to ask them to do it, and they said they'd be right out. In the time that we were waiting (at least 20 minutes) nobody came out and we figured it out ourselves. Overall, I got a very misogynistic, uncomfortable feel from this place. Never had a problem here until now. I had moved out of town for a couple years and when I came back, decided to come here based on previous positive experiences. Clearly they need to hire more respectful staff now! Came here for windshield wipers for my car. Big mistake. I usually do not complain, but I felt really embarrassed and mortified about how I was treated. They were SO rude to me. I walked in looking for the aisle and when someone asked if I needed help, another employee rudely goes "obviously she wouldn't know." Excuse me? Anyways they asked if I knew what kind of wipers I needed and I told them I just got a new car so I wasn't sure. Then the employee looked so annoyed he had to look up the info for me! It's his job! He didn't even tell me the prices he just picked them for me...I obviously saw there were more options. Then to top it off, I asked if anyone could help put the wipers on. He said annoyed "you see it's dark?? Not allowed" ok I can understand if its policy, but the attitude is not needed. I don't want to be treated like I'm stupid when I walk in somewhere, especially a place that wants my business. Every other time I had been here or other locations, everyone would be accommodating and helpful. Unfortunately this will probably be my last purchase ever here because this place has left me disappointed and never wanting to come back. Today I went to Advanced Auto in Norwood Mass. It was the biggest disappointment ever!!! I have been going there for years - before Advanced Auto took over - and things were great ?!? But today I dealt with Mike - who couldn't have cared less about helping me . I just needed oil - which they didn't have so I asked if the Dedham store had it - it was like u asked him to give birth to a child!!!!! I won't go back to this store because if they hire Mike ( tall / Gorky / glasses) I can only imagine who is in charge!!! So today July 1 2015 I spoke with the manager of this store. I called for wiper information and mentioned the negative review to the employee, Dan.I went over there and Dan found the wipers to suit my needs and put them on promptly. I don't know if Dan was so helpful because I read him the review or if that other person was just unlucky. Anyhow, thank you Dan. Go here for my cars parts etc. Place has just about anything you need and can order any parts you want. Prices are about average. You can get lower prices online at some companies but if you want them that day or an easy return process this is your best bet. They should work on speeding up the lines. Either have a self checkout possibly for customers just paying for an item and not needing something looked up or installed. read more

Came here to pick up an online order, and although the guys were nice and quick, they butchered my order and 3/5 items they gave me were wrong. Returning and exchanging the items was easy, but I had to wait some time. Hope this was just a one-off experience. I occasionally order things online with Advance Auto Parts when they have 40-50% discount codes and I ordered once to pickup from the Norwood AAP. Even though they had a day to have my order ready to be picked up, I had to wait as one of the employees walked around the store to find the items I ordered. Even though it's more of a problem with their end, they never asked for my ID. To make things even worse, I didn't find out until I got home that one of the items was not the one that I had ordered. Since the difference between the items was $2, I didn't even bother going back to exchange it for the right item. I also ordered to pickup from the Roslindale AAP and had a similar experience. The Quincy AAP was a lot better since they had my order all ready in a box and even checked for my ID. read more

Visited the store to have a new battery installed to replace the existing one that was less than 1 year old and had been installed at that time by staff from this store. That experience was quite good. Neither of the individuals I engaged with this time was interested in installing the battery. The reasoning given was that the air duct was in the way and would require an 'Engineer' to remove it!! - Anthony at the store indicated that it would be more than his jobs worth to tackle it. The AdvancedAutoparts website clearly states that FREE battery installation is available for this vehicle - Honda Pilot. It even provides them the steps to follow (including how to pop those air duct grommets). So I had to purchase a new battery, take it home and replace it myself (10 mins). On my return, it took him three attempts to process the return, getting the math wrong each time. On the third attempt, the error was in my favor by a few cents so I let it slide. Bottom line: The staff are disinterested (not unable, as it is very straight forward) to perform the Free battery installations as advertised on the website. If purchasing a battery, be sure to bring along a screwdriver and socket wrench to do it yourself at the store! read more
