He ended up having to replace a portion of the plumbing under the cabinet and a fitting under the house. My Long Beach condo building also uses Advanced Mechanical Contractors (AMC) as their go-to plumber. I think all of the work was completed in less than 3.5 hours? We had some challenging space constraints to troubleshoot. Jonathan also got a helper to come and take the old toilets (and even the packaging and trash that the toilets were shipped in) - lots of trips from my 4th floor condo to their van outside. Our pipeline from our toilet cracked and needed replacing. So we were told that we couldn't use our toilet on Monday. The people they sent Tuesday, and Wednesday had no luck. But Thursday came and Oscar got the job done before I got off work. I gave them 24 hours of notice to replace 3 shut off valves and was told they would be at my condo before 10am. At 1045, the dispatcher told me their technician was on another job and wouldn't be able to service me. When I asked if they had someone else they said no. My HOA only shuts off water on Thursday so with thanksgiving being next Thursday I am screwed. Basically I'm going to be without water in my kitchen and refrigerator for 2 more weeks. They came recommended from my father because they did a good job, but obviously I wasn't worth their time. I understand other jobs taking priority, but they could have let me know yesterday so I had a chance to book someone else for the job. DO NOT TRUST this company. I would have preferred to give no stars, but Yelp requires at least 1 star. They showed up to our business today to perform an unauthorized backflow test. I never heard of this company, nor requested that they perform this test. Now there is a broken valve which I will have to pay another contractor to fix. When business show up to perform unauthorized testing/work, it is a DISHONEST and DECEITFUL way of trying to obtain business. This has happened also with Fire testing companies and seems to be moving into this industry. Beware of this company! UPDATE: A representative of the company called to inform me that the City of Long Beach sent them to perform the backflow test. I spoke with the City of Long Beach this morning and they stated that they NEVER send companies out to perform these tests. read more

i had a massive backup in my kitchen sink. i live in a condo complex and basically backed up sewage from the other units was coming up into my kitchen sink. yeah. gross. my house smelled like the alleys behind restaurants. best service i've had from any sort of maintenance people.. i called monday 4pm and i was told someone would be in tuesday between 8-10am. danny acero was my man! sure he ended up coming around 10:15 but understandable seeing as it was a rainy day and they seemed to be backed up with a lot of work. he was friendly, professional, experienced, thorough, AND!!!!! he cleaned up after himself!! he even went as far as to clean my sinks which had been covered in grease and grime from the backed up water!! most people just come and fix the bare minimum of the problem and leave their mess behind but this was not so with danny. he made sure over and over again that the problem was resolved and i wouldn't be having any further issues with the kitchen plumbing. he also gave a few tips on maintaining my garbage disposal and pipes. if you want great service and a thorough and professional job done make sure to ask for danny at advance mechanical! i will definitely be using their services again in the future! read more

This company is totally professional. Recently I had a new water heater put in, also needing new valves since the valves to my toilets and sinks were from 1969 and completely frozen. They also installed a new kitchen faucet since mine was a mess, which had been installed long before I got here. I was afraid of plumbing issues in this building, knowing I wanted to be hyper-responsible and do the right thing, but stymied by how much that would cost and how bad I KNOW the pipes are in this building. Rick came out and gave me the estimate. He was a wonderful introduction to this new company I was trusting because other local plumbers were afraid of (or not licensed) doing work on a 4th floor in a condo building. Bob, who trained under Rick, did most of the work that day. He was a great human being and helped me to understand more about the plumbing in my unit. Turns out we had a little problem due to a seal on one of the toilets that caused a leak downstairs. Advanced Mechanical (Bob) came back that night and fixed it. Every single person I dealt with in this company had a great attitude, was kind, patient and wanted to make it a good experience for me. This company has several names, Moe plumbing and Ken's plumbing, but we used them under the name Advanced Mechanics. Our regular plumber recommended them when we had a leak near our water meter under the city's sidewalk. Our regular plumber didn't have the license to do that kind of work. We thought we were in good hands, but Advanced Mechanical were disastrous. They initially didn't cut the concrete correctly and sent out a elderly ex-plumber, his 10 or 12 year old grandson, and another worker to do our concrete work. They didn't pull the correct city permit in the first place. The concrete work was so bad, that a concrete company they later sent out to repair the damage refused to, stating they didn't know how they could fix it and make it look okay. A 2 day job ended up lasting 4 months! Any time we called their office, we ran in to rude staff, particularly Christine. The workers didn't show up on time, you couldn't get a hold of any supervisor, and when we asked for a copy of the final permit that the city signed off on, they claimed they couldn't get it, because it was done electronically. When I pushed for it, lo and behold they found the permit number and I was able to call to verify that the permit had actually been signed off. When we asked for a discount for the poor service we received, we went around and around with the manager, Taylor Davis. He NEVER contacted us directly during the 4 months until he wanted his money. I would NEVER use this company. Poor work,poor service, nasty employees and poor management. Find someone else! read more
