I have purchased two systems (heat pumps) from this company since Nov of 2023. The pricing for these systems was very competitive and the installations were professionally done. Gas Water heater issue. Called Advanced Air, they send out a tech within the hour = 1 Star Tech was prompt and courteous = 1 Star Took 30 seconds to figure out that I did not hold down the pilot light button long enough to restart the burner = me feeling like an idiot. Charged me $95 diagnostic fee plus $120 labor fee = total $220 to relight a pilot light that took 30 seconds. I called the company and asked how they figured there was a labor fee when there was no labor performed and only a single diagnostic action taken which fixed the issue. I was told that there is a minimum fee they have to charge to stay in business. Summary: If you decide to go with Advanced Air Tech, regardless what they tell you, the min fee to expect is $220. Will not be using Advanced Air Tech again. read more

We just had Advanced Air Technology, install a new American Standard 4 ton, 17 seer split unit in our home. We couldn't be happier! We got 3 bids before we settled on Gary,and his team. Gary, came to our home and talked to us about our needs. He recommended a 4 ton unit over the 3.5 unit we had for 25 years. He told us that due to the size of our home and the layout it would be more efficient. He also said we needed more return air for our system and wrote up a detailed quote for the job. His crew arrived on time and worked very hard installing our new unit. They cleaned up after themselves and communicated with both me and my wife. They were very personable and explained what they were doing. Gary, came back when they were finished and walked with us through everything they did and wanted to make sure we were happy with the job. I had a brand new package air conditioning unit installed back in 2005 with a 10-year parts and labor warranty as follows: "1 year all labor, 10 year all parts,10 year all coils,10 year compressor, Lifetime heat exchanger. 1 year service agreement, 5 year thermostat control (Rheem EcoNet Control Center). ** this system qualifies for a 10 year all parts and labor plan." I currently have a problem with a leak in my evaporator coil. I called in and was told that I would be charged $89 for a service call plus any refrigerant and any other miscellaneous charges that came up. In addition, because I did not sign up for a "service agreement" at the time of installation, the "10 year all parts and labor plan" was INVALID. No where in any documentation I received states the requirement for a service agreement in order to meet the requirements for the 10 year all parts and labor warranty. I am happy to provide the documentation that I received from Advanced Air Technology that listed the work requirements and warranty information to anyone, anytime. Never once did I see a document where i was presented with the option to accept or reject a "service agreement" at the time of installation. Now that I have a serious and probably expensive repair, the parts would be covered but I would be charged an enormous amount of money for labor, refrigerant, supplies, labor time, etc. I am very disappointed in Advanced Air Technology and I would not recommend their sales or services to anyone at this time. read more

BEWARE - Company will not stand by its service. We bought an HVAC unit from them and have needed constant repairs. This is a guest house and we do not run the unit often. The last time they came out we spent over $2300 to replace the coils, run dye to find a leak, and refill the unit with freon. We turned the heat on last night - The furnace is not working so I decided to call out another company knowing the past history of Advanced not responding to emergency calls. Again, there is a leak. I called Advanced to see if they guaranteed their service and if so would they would repair what should have been done the previous time. Mr. Hill laughed at me and was very condescending. I was not amused. I will NEVER use them again even though parts are still under warranty. I do not consider this person to care about the quality or integrity of his company and the work they do. We contacted this company after a room addition. Our existing heat pump just wasn't doing a good job with the additional square footage. We had a mini split system Installed. The installers arrived on time and completed the project in about 5 hours. The pair did a great job cleaning up. I did shop pricing. Advanced Air was the most competitive pricing. I wish I had read Micah's review before I had them come out to my home. I agree, I will never use this company again. I will also be contacting the BBB. I found out my neighbor paid $1100 for their repair and my cost was basically doubled. When I asked for an itemized receipt, I was told they were not able to provide one. They did tell me that my part has a one year warranty only after I pay $500 to do a leak test...really. read more

This is the worst company I have ever had the experience to work with. Their sales person was great. They cost more for an ac than other places we had give us a quote, but we liked the sales guy and he promised to fix our vent that was turned the wrong way included. That didn't happen. Which is whatever, but, the guys that came to put in the ac were rude, (also, whatever, not a deal breaker), we have a baby so we had to schedule our whole day around having them come out. They "finished" and we were told to wait on the sales guy to come out before we left and grabbed food and they were going to wait there for him to check everything as well. They left. Then the sales guy said he was busy. We checked out our new ac to see our warranty book and some leftover screws sitting out in the rain. Over the next few days the ceiling around the closet that connects to the ac started to leak and mildew. We noticed OPEN wires poking out near the floor that was not there before. No caps on them or anything. Again, we had a less than one year old who was walking and trying to open doors. The ac wasn't keeping up with the heat, even brand new and we were having to turn our ac up to 80. They sent a guy to check it out who was astounded by the mess the first guys made in the closet and said they didn't ventilate it properly or seal everything properly and that they hired terrible guys to do jobs and then people that actually worked right had to go behind them to fix everything. He said he didn't have to tools with him to fix it but would be back the next couple of days. Nope. They sent the first guys back. They left. Water damage on our ceiling. They send a guy to "fix it". He painted it. It still leaks and now our ceiling is about to collapse. The room connected to the closet had a beam break through the wall from the closet where they were pushing up against it while working. We called again to have them come out today. Told us is was our fault for keeping our doors closed. Again, we have a now 13 month old and this ac isn't cooling off our back rooms so we close them during the day. They are open at night. So basically, if you want the worst ac and worst experience for the most money, go with this company. The sales guy, like most, acts fake to get the sale. Don't be fooled. They are going to cost us so much money to fix the mistakes they made in our home. read more

I purchased a complete system for my home in Evans from Advanced Air Technologies in 2009. Gary Hill and his team had to come out multiple times over the next few years which resulted in the installation of a new coil in 2013. The part was covered under warranty but I was charged for the refrigerant which was close to $200. In late February of 2014 my system was not cooling at all. I attempted to call Advanced Air to come out with no return phone call. I contacted Roper Heating and Air to come out and diagnose the problem. The tech informed me that my compressor was completely fried and that it was due to the high pressure switch being by-passed. The tech explained to me that the high pressure switch regulates the pressure or temperature so that the compressor will shut down if the temp reaches a certain level. I was upset after being told that I would need a new outside unit due to someone's negligence or incompetence. Up until this year the only company that had worked on my system was Advanced Air Technologies. I contacted Gary Hill who owns the company and explained to him that the compressor was burned up and he told me that we can replace the outside system under the warranty. When I asked him if I would have to pay for anything he told me that I would need to pay around $550 for the labor. When I informed him of the by-passed high pressure switch he responded with; "I don't know anything about that". When I told him that his company had been the only ones to work on my system he wanted to blame it on an electrical storm that we had recently. I did not agree with that due to the fact of the cut high pressure switch and that my other unit was working fine. I asked him to take care of the labor portion and he refused. I decided to have Roper Heating and Air replace the outside unit which was covered under warranty at a cost of $550 plus over $220 for the first visit and diagnosis. After the new outside system was installed my troubles were not over. The system would not hold temp due to a restriction in the unit. We ended up having to replace the inside coil, and if you are keeping count this was the third coil to be installed in this unit that was new in 2009! Upon returning the coil that was installed by Advanced AIr Technologies the distributor in Augusta noticed that there was an orifice that was not removed when it was installed. According the instructions that come with a new coil, If you are using a system with an expansion valve you should remove the orifice prior to installation. If both the orifice and the expansion valve are used it restricts the flow of refrigerant to the system which results in guess what? yes a rise in pressure. All in all I spent just over $1,625 for labor due to Advanced Air Technologies not installing the coil properly and by-passing the high pressure switch so they could get the system to operate properly. I WILL NEVER USE ADVANCED AIR TECHNOLOIES AGAIN AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. If you want great service call Roper heating and Air and speak to Phil Roper, the owner.
