Absolutely Unacceptable Experience - Avoid This Lab at All Costs I had one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences with this lab company. I went in for a mold test and followed every step they instructed, only to be told later that I never took the test. I repeatedly contacted them, explained the situation, and even provided what details I had--but each time, I was told I didn't exist in their system. Eventually, they admitted they "don't use a computer system," which is absolutely baffling and completely irresponsible for any company handling health-related diagnostics. Because of this outdated and disorganized process, my test results were never recorded, tracked, or delivered. They lost my personal information and treated me as if I was the one making a mistake. No accountability. No apology. Just a shrug and an "Oh well." This isn't just poor customer service--it's a potential risk to people's health. If you're considering using this company for anything remotely important, don't. I tried to get my bank to reverse the charges and they did then the lab claimed otherwise and my bank had to charge again. they are scams! read more

I ended up contracting a different business for higher quality work and a better price. Eight months later Advanced American Laboratories threatened to take me to collections for test results I never received! FRAUD! FRAUD! FRAUD! This company is absolutely fraudulent! I hired them to do asbestos testing as instructed by my mold remediation company. They said it would be $350 for asbestos and $450 for lead. I said my home is a 1990 construction and I don't need to do a lead test. They told me it had to be done by law and are forcing me to pay $800. I called and complained and they said they would send this to collections. There is no signed written agreement, no verbal agreement, no email communication. Good luck with that. I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB and any other governmental authority. read more

I was referred to them by my contractor and my Home Inspector so I knew I was getting a great referral and a great referral it was! I found the people at this company to be professional, responsive, caring, and very knowledgeable. I was in the middle of starting a very stressful remediation project in our kitchen - in the process, we discovered some old linoleum flooring underneath our kitchen cabinets. Following protocol, we were forced to test this flooring for asbestos and after being without a kitchen for over a month and just now starting to get the process started, I needed help IMMEDIATELY. After hiring AAL for asbestos and lead testing, the asbestos test results came back inconclusive, so they charged an additional $450 for 1000-point count analysis to confirm the presence of asbestos. At no point in the original quote or discussions was this possibility mentioned. You would think hiring AAL to test for asbestos would give a definitive answer, but they were obviously not upfront about the additional testing and associated costs (almost doubling the total bill)! read more

While I was in escrow to sell my condo in West Hollywood, mold was discovered in my unit from a former flood in my condo complex. I currently reside in Australia so I had to fly back to to Los Angeles to oversee the mold remediation process and repair of the property prior to close of escrow. I used another company in the first stages of the mold testing. The results were accurate, however it was very expensive and the problem was slightly exaggerated, leaving me more stressed than I have now come to believe was necessary. After the remediation process was completed, I found Advanced American Labs to assist with the final clearance testing. I was very impressed with their speed, efficiency and professionalism. We are renovating a 70 year old house that has had little or no changes to the infrastructure in that time. Our contractor recommended Advanced American Laboratories to test for lead & asbestos. We used them again when it became apparent that mold testing was necessary as well. We opted to to have full testing done on both occasions. The techs were scheduled promptly and were very thorough. UPDATE: I really appreciate good customer service, and especially am thankful for any person who takes time out to share information, answer questions, and address my concerns. I received a call from CEO Patrick Michaels this afternoon, and feel that my mind has been put at ease. I now understand that the materials left behind by the abatement company are not as harmful as I may have previously believed and have more information that will help me in the future in case I decide to make other alterations or encounter hazardous materials or substances in my house. I was really appreciative of this company 1. Fitting me in last minute on a Friday, and coming out to take care of a job (Asbestos air clearance) so quickly, 2. Taking the time to answer questions, and 3. Honoring a referral discount. However, once I received the report, I was left confused as there were no specifications, and a lot of technical language and codes that I didn't understand. The company was quick to reply to my questions in an email. The technician who came to inspect and perform the test at my home was quick to comment on the poor quality (or appearance) of the work that had been performed by the abatement company, so I began to feel concern. Since he didn't wear any protective gear to go in and out of the containment areas, I guess I felt somewhat reassured that the work was done and my home is safe from the dangers of asbestos (which are also noted in the lab report). Here's the interesting part though...how can all areas be considered clear if the tests cannot capture some of the smaller fibers? And why was I told there was no evidence of asbestos-containing materials when I stepped back into the room (assuming it is clean and safe) and immediately encountered small debris and larger pieces of the very materials I had the abatement company remove? I just don't understand why I paid somebody to tell me the area was clean or clear from a dangerous material, when it clearly is not! What a waste of money. I hold the abatement company responsible, but I would hope that if I paid money for clearance, this company would have caught this. read more
