Definitely NOT happy with this business. I returned to Advanced Auto Care after having my oil changed years ago, with this business. I was happy with their service then as well as their customer service. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a stickler for GOOD customer service. So anyway, that's what brought me back. This time I needed not only my oil changed but I also had a rear taillight that was out. When I called to make an appointment, I spoke with a man who was pleasant but rushed me off the phone. I didn't think much of it because it was late in the day and I just figured they were getting ready to close up shop. I showed up for my appointment early and as I was speaking to the man behind the counter, he told me he was the one who spoke with me over the phone and he'd have his mechanic check my taillight. After about 30 minutes, he came into the office and advised me that I did in fact need 2 bulbs due to them being blown out. He then advised me it would cost me $42 + tax to replace the bulbs!! I was shocked. Completely. At first I thought that would be the total price for the oil change and the bulbs but he advised me that the $42 was separate from the oil change. I told him to forget it. He seemed a little miffed and stated after cutting me off in mid-sentence, "so you want me to tell him to put the bad bulbs back in?" Uh yea. Today I went to Auto Zone and bought the 2 bulbs the man said I needed. Guess what? For 4 bulbs (they are sold in pairs) cost me $15! And guess what else? The parts manager installed the BULB for me. And now guess the best part of all!!! I ONLY NEEDED 1 BULB, so I returned the 2nd pack of bulbs and all together it ended up costing me $8 after being refunded for a bulb I didn't even need!!! I was going to give Advanced Auto Care Center my business to fix my car A/C but I no longer will. This is either a perfect example of taking advantage of me because I'm an older woman or just plain ol greed and lying! Either way, I'm done with this business and hope others will be leery of taking their vehicles here. Shame on them! read more

My car's A/C wasn't blowing cold air so I brought it in for them to check out, taking advantage of their advertised Free A/C Check. I had done some research on car AC systems but wanted to have a professional look at it still. I told them from the start that the AC condenser fan wasn't turning on, which is definitely a reason why an AC wouldn't be blowing cold air, as the condenser system needs to be cooled by the fan in order to effectively produce cold air. I measured the pressure of the refrigerant and it was on the low end of the range it should be in. Sometimes the fan would turn on, and at those times my AC would properly blow cold air. So I knew it had something to do with the fan. I even replaced the fan relay fuse twice myself, but that didn't fix the problem. The guys at AACC told me they would check it out and tell me the problem, and to leave my car for an hour or so. 30 minutes later I got a call back from them. They told me my AC system was overcharged (when too much refrigerant is injected into the system); that I needed an AC evac, and that I needed a new cabin air filter. All of this would cost me $312 they told me. I declined. I couldn't afford it. The next day I opened my car hood just to take another look at the AC, sort of out of desperation. Low and behold, I noticed that a plug was disconnected from the condenser unit. I simply connected it, tried my AC again, and from that point on it has worked perfectly. The problem was not an overcharged AC. I did not need an evac. It wasn't the air filter. It was just a matter of plugging something back in. The plug was probably loosely connected all this time, which is why the fan would turn on only sometimes, until the plug got completely disconnected and the fan would not turn on at all. I think when you bring your car in for professionals to look at it, the expectancy is that they properly diagnose whatever problems the car really has. In this case, I was given a wrong diagnosis and it could have cost me $312 dollars to fix something that didn't need to be fixed. read more

I dropped my car off on Tuesday to get some preventative work done (replace upper/lower radiator hoses because they were starting to get spongy) before I had to drive to Tampa today but nothing was wrong with my car AT ALL. It ended up not getting worked on until Wednesday, which was fine. I picked it up Wednesday afternoon and when I got in the car my check engine light was on-- first sign that worried me, because my car was 100% fully functioning and free of error lights when I dropped it off. They got back in it and cleared the code, telling me that it just said "random misfire" and it was nothing to worry about. I drove it home after $300+ in repairs. I'm getting ready to get onto 75 this morning to drive to Tampa and my car starts acting weird- shaking, making weird noises, etc. I pull into an auto parts store to check it out and my coolant is POURING out of the bottom of my car and had completely covered my entire engine in Dexcool. I called the shop, waited 45 minutes for a tow truck, and brought it back to their mechanic. They look at it and tell me their mechanic yesterday DIDN'T KNOW to cut their universal radiator hose so it didn't rub on my AC belt (it had rubbed and ruptured, causing the coolant leak) so I sat there for over an hour while they replaced it and refilled my coolant. I didn't have to pay for the towing or repairs (shouldn't have had to- it was 100% THEIR fault) but I DID have to spend most of my day worrying about the problems that they caused my car because their mechanic didn't know how to properly install my part (no compensation received or anything). I took my car to them fully functioning and had to bring it back on a tow truck. Something isn't right there. Sure, they're nice people, but being nice doesn't help me when I'm stranded at a store (could've been stranded on 75 if I wouldn't have stopped)... I will NEVER go back to them, even for a simple oil change... read more

The manager is extremely rude, the mechanics don't give you the time of day or accurately diagnose your vehicle. A friend of mine went to take her car to this shop, a large man worked on the car and she drove away with more problems. I wouldn't recommend this shop to my worst enemy as you'll drive away with a dangerous car. The customer service is very poor and not personable at all. They don't like answering questions and always seem to have an attitude while speaking to you. The manager will speak to you instead of the mechanic because he is trying to up sell his products even if you do not need it for your car. Stay clear of this shop if you're in the Gainesville area or live there. I would recommend Firestone instead for quality customer and work on your vehicle. read more

We took our car there because of a hesitation when accelerating. We told them the Check Engine Light was NOT on and that we had already check it for codes. They basically did the same thing we had already done, recommended some " possible fixes" and charged us $115.00 for a Check Engine Light Diagnostic. We asked specifically if they were going to do a more thorough diagnostic and they said yes, but ended up charging us for the same thing we had done at home. Waste of time and money! read more

What should have been SO SIMPLE. I've never had a such a frustrating interaction with a mechanic, he came in and proceeded to ask me to trade secrets to tell me what's wrong with my vehicle, because that's how he makes his money. The very first code of ethics is to explain any maintence that needs done and whether that maintence is immediate or preventative. If you have no other choice but to go here I seriously advise to steer clear of Lenny. There's plenty of sketchy mechanics out there but he's by far got to me the most unprofessional one I've met yet. I'm shocked at how concerned he was with making money yet he decided to rule out any opportunity of future business. Shortsighted. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. DO NOT trust this place with your car. I'm a college student who works 2 jobs and pays for everything myself including my car repairs. If I could give a zero rating I would. Came in with my car not starting, they say my battery is totally fine, need to replace the alternator. Their estimates were a hundred dollars more expensive than another place, but they " figured something out" to match the price. 575 dollars later and 2 days later, car won't start again. Take it in, and miraculously now my battery is bad? Chances are my battery needed to be fixed for less than 200 dollars, but they probably never checked the battery the first time. Took advantage of me being a young female, and that's that. TERRIBLE PLACE. SCREWS YOU OVER. For real, don't go here. Over priced and dishonest. read more

This shop has provided nothing less than phenomenal care each time I need them! They are thorough and will recommend future work gently, instead of trying to up-sell you. I have financial concerns so when I was overwhelmed with future costs, they trouble-shot the issue with me and recommended I start saving instead of looking down on me. I completely trust my car with them, and have recommended them to all my friends. read more

I brought my car in for an oil change less than a week ago. The oil light was on before and after the oil change. I checked my oil today and there was NO oil in my car. There are no leaks, so the only conclusion is that the mechanic forgot to put the oil I payed for into my car. read more

Sold four tires, "new" ever since leaving had to keep putting air in on of the rear tires. Literally, since day one. Called and spoke to Troy who was rude and dismissed the claim immediately and told me to take the tires elsewhere. If you want to get screwed out of money, there are much more fun ways of doing it than visiting this hell forsaken place. read more

I just bought a 2003 Mazda 6 & took to them because I recently moved to this area. I needed the CV axle shaft replaced & told them I had a problem with the front brake rotors seemed warped. Well they told me the CV axle was bad but all pads front & rear were new, the front rotors were OK but the rear rotors were bad and needed to be replaced. I told them to go ahead with the recommended repair. I picked up car the next day with a bill of $535.74. I stiil had a surge when brakes were applied in front, but now had a loud noise on rear brakes like they were glazed. I had to go out of town & drove my GMC 2500 because I didn't feel safe driving Mazda. I was unable to take the Mazda back for 2 months but finally did. They gave me a a bunch of lies about how i needed new high dollar brake pads to fix for A total of $210 parts and labor. I told them why didn't they turn front rotors when they first had it, they gave me another lie that they were not able to turn and would need new ones for another $100. I told them to forget it & I'll do myself. I took of front rotors & had the turned at Pep Boys for $30 (they had no problem turning rotors). I sanded down front pads, cleaned and put together. Then on back brakes I took off brake pads sanded a little same with rotors, cleaned & back together. It did take me about 2 hours in my driveway with a small jack, but the car now makes no braking noise and smooth braking (sweet). I will never take any vehicle to them and don't recommend them to anybody. If your looking to spend way to much money, get a crappy job, and hear a bunch of lies then go see them., also the mileage when I purchased car was 122,600, the receipt showed 183,589 & actual is 124,062 go figure! read more
