Completely misleading and unprofessional I had an extremely disappointing experience with Advanced Dental Office, and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere before committing to treatment here. From the very beginning, the information I was given was inconsistent and misleading. I initially spoke with Elena, who told me I would need braces for about 3 years. That's already a big commitment, but at least it sounded clear. Then I met with the doctor, and suddenly everything changed--different price, different plan, and now I'm being told I need braces for 5 YEARS instead of 3. That's not a small difference. That's nearly doubling the time with zero clear explanation. It felt like a complete bait-and-switch. How does a treatment plan change that drastically from one conversation to the next? It made me seriously question how anything is being managed in that office. What's even more concerning is that the doctor supposedly prides himself on graduating in the top 10% of his class. With all due respect, that makes this experience even more confusing, because the level of disorganization, lack of communication, and inconsistency I encountered did not reflect that level of professionalism at all. There was no transparency, no accountability, and no effort to clarify why I was told two completely different things. Instead, I was left feeling misled, frustrated, and like I couldn't trust anything I was being told. When you're dealing with something as serious and expensive as orthodontic treatment, consistency and honesty should be the bare minimum. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. You have to be careful with this dental office. Insurance fraud is a real thing with them. They charged me and my insurance for two procedures and only completed one. They did not refund me or my insurance for the work they did not do. I didnt go back for the second procedure because they left me in horrible pain from the first one. I couldn't eat or bite down for months. Horrible office. They always try to trick you with prices. We asked the price for a deep cleaning and they told us $450 but when we got there (after leaving work early) they said we also have to pay for an exam. Why wouldn't you mention that when we called? I have had braces since December 2019. They have delayed and prolonged and absolutely negligently dragggedddd my treatment for too many unnecessary months. My insurance covered half the payment instantly and I have finished my payment in 2020. I started with the treatment in Tustin California and they have closed that office and moved to this Whittier location. Elena the manager picks and chooses patients to be nice to she has always been rude to me for speaking my truth about my oral health care. She needs to find a job she is happy at and not be so rude to patients it's health CARE NOT HEALTH DO NOT CARE. As for the 3rd Dr treating my orthodontic work (Dr brooks) she is trying to be nice to me but I feel like they did not compensate her for seeing me as her patient. I hope to see the owner change his practice beliefs in treating every patient with QUALITY CARE. My BIGGEST MISTAKE was coming here to this office. How does it take an hour to make retainers molds? And how am I always the last patient on every day they see me? Why should my insurance pay for an implant or bridge when the ORIGINAL treating Dr told me to extract my tooth? I get to my appointments in a timely manner and they always see me LAST. And some months ago they told me they couldn't see me because everyone was going home, I was so early to my appt how the fuck is it my fault they don't hire the right people to stay until the last patient leaves. That sounds like A STAFF PROBLEM NOT A PATIENT PROBLEM. PLEASE SEEK CARE ELSE WHERE! I cannot wait to be done with the orthodontic treatment. My worst experience ever in a dentist. I was left with a toothache and I got an infection after getting my wisdom tooth removed so I had to go look for another dentist because it was on a weekend, on Monday I came here so they could check me because I was having the worst pain ever in my life. The dentist didn't even bother to check my surgery and only said it was normal. I ended up having a dry socket which is a horrible pain and had to buy medication on my own to help heal it. They only care about charging the insurance apparently. There is a great lack of communication between the people who works here. My tooth was hurting really bad so I came here to have it checked out. The office staff were very friendly, helpful and informative. I got xrays done and needed a root canal. They started working on it right away and did a fantastic job on it. Man so I'm reading the comments and at the moment I'm in disagreement with ball the negative ones when getting approval from the insurance you are with always always you must ask the proof it has been approved so you know it will be covered and in case insurance decides to decline it later you have proof and they will have to honor it I went in today for two wisdom teeth remove they wanted to remove 4 but if you smart you ain't gonna remove all 4 at the same time if you do your research it's better to get two at a time and must follow procedures in how to take care of it I went in and was out in 35 min I'm being cautious in what I eat and changing the gauges every 35 min exact be patient with the girls and always make sure you are approved for the dental work by asking for a copy of the approval if they say they still haven't gotten the response then just reschedule common sense the ladies can't control the time it takes for them to respond they go by what usually is covered before I went in I got a copy that I was approve and everything even medication just will be back for the other two right now my numbness went away already and I have a headache 3/10 not bad yes it hurts a bit opening my mouth but what you expect but I recommend this spot read more

After further assessing my last review, I was put in contact with the manager and we were able to come to agreeable terms pertaining to the duration of my treatment. Although it was longer than expected, I am very pleased with my results and thankful for the customer service provided to me during the time being. I've been coming to this place for years and all I have to say is they do amazing work. They're super friendly and always treat me with respect every time I go to get treatment done on my teeth. The doctor did a great job when I badly needed root canal's done to get rid of my excruciating pain. The ladies in the front I gotta say are super chill too. Neither one of my friends or family members had a bad experience when I told them to go for treatment. Bad experience in this office first the first assistant was really good the second assistant that came in and start taking the x-rays touching the keyboard on the computer with her gloves with no barrier on there and I asked her to change her gloves this is during COVID-19 Doctor came in and looked at the x-rays took a quick look in my mouth and gave me a recommendation said he was going to send treatment plan send it to my insurance I've never heard back from this office I've called several months since September i've been asking the front office Rosie to email me my x-rays & treatment plan and she keeps say she would and has not done it i've been calling every other week and she says she's really busy I don't understand how a front office can be really busy with paperwork and not be able to send an email in two minutesI maybe if she'd stay off her cell phone!!! she is very difficult to deal with I don't think it's very hard to emailed the x-ray with the dental treatment plan. I went in today for a wisdom tooth extraction consultation. To start off, the receptionist could not locate my account with Delta Dental and didn't appear to really know the process or benefits coverage. I overheard her ask another employee for advice and or confirmation several times. Ultimately, this office wanted to charge me a $250 copayment for each tooth extraction and I needed two, a total of $500 out of pocket. I left their office and contacted the Bellflower Oral Facial Surgery & Dental Implant Center. The Bellflower office informed my my copayment was only $112.20 to extract both teeth. I called Advanced Dental Group to inform them about the Bellflower office's estimate. The receptionist didn't seem to have a clue or really understandI'm glad I second guessed Advanced Dental Group. Lesson to be learned, don't bother with this facility. This is in response to the dental office's reply to my post: I was at your office to receive the tooth extraction because I was in pain. Not a patient? I completed an application, sat in one of your chairs while I waited on the oral surgeon to work on me, and had my X-rays taken... Pretty close to being a patient but had to jump out of the chair when your receptionist gave me bad information on my copayment. I would have had my tooth extracted had your receptionist quoted the correct copayment. The Bellflower office charged me the correct copayment rate of $112.20. I did not get a break on that. I was not shopping around for a cheaper rate. I wish Advanced Medical Group would acknowledge their employee's mistake and learn from it. I wouldn't mind talking to your manager in person. read more

I came here to get a deep clean and man this office has always saved me from pain and aches. They explain how things are and they give u choices on where u need to be improved to get a great smile. The wait time isnt bad at all and if it is they keep u updated and let u know they will return every 5 mins. I like this place alot they arent like other dentist office. Never rude and always have an answer for u. They are sooo nice, patient, friendly also supportive. The front desk girls are awesome and belinda the back office tech is so awesome and sweet. Do not go here. The office staff is rude and unprofessional. They will tell you, you are wrong when you are NOT. They Will imply that you are lying, when you are NOT. They will change your appointment time by 3 1/2 hours and only let you know by the reminder phone call. They will interrupt you and not let you speak. They also will not apologize even when they are clearly wrong. I am hoping I can get out of the contract without any extra costs if not I have to stay in a place I feel extremely uncomfortable at. All it takes is an apology and some simple kindness but I'm not sure if that will happen.. Update They terminated my treatment because I wouldn't take down my yelp review.
