I had to find a locksmith to fix an issue I was having at my office. These guys are nearby and have good reviews so, I went for it. Scheduled and appointment for first thing in the morning and I was told I would be receiving a call beforehand letting me know they were on the way. Never got a call, and the guy was half an hour late. They told me that they had my written down at a different time and that the locksmith did call me... but no call. Anyway, the locksmith and who I assume to be an apprentice showed up and worked on the door. Showed me that the lock was now working and 90 dollars later, they had left. Not 5 minutes later, I went to check the door and it wouldn't even open... I called their store and told them what happened, the guys came back and dismantled the entire handle and told me it was broken and that they had to take it back to the shop and would call me later with a quote .........? I never received that call either, and later found out I was passed on to someone else because the first guy had another job. Half an hour later, another locksmith comes by and fixes the door in a matter of 20 minutes, explains clearly what the problem was, and now everything is working better than it has in months. He mentioned that the first guys said they didn't take the lock apart. My eyes told a different story. At first, disappointed and irritated, later relieved and happy. So I was at Forever 21 last week and just as I was about to check out I saw the cutest key topper at the counter. I'm sure you're familiar with the little rubbery things you can put on keys to distinguish them from other keys, yes? Well, this one looked like a LOLLIPOP! It was adorable so I impulsively purchased it. Worst. idea. ever. Flash forward to today - I get home from an afternoon of running around and as I'm about to unlock my front door I realize my lollipop-clad key has disappeared! I check my purse, my car, my yard - nothing. I call every establishment where I had stopped - nothing. After a few choice words directed at my no-longer-so-adorable, totally-crappily-made key holder I suck it up and call Advanced Lock Solutions. I was immediately impressed when the locksmith showed up at my house within 30 minutes (on a Sunday, no less) and diligently went to work trying to break in. Eventually we got into my house and he started examining my lock. Turns out, my lock wasn't that well constructed and neither was the key that was supposed to unlock it! Upon discovering this, he fixed my lock, rekeyed it and made me three brand new keys ALL FOR FREE. What a bargain! On top of it all, he could not have been nicer. I know I'll be calling them back should I ever get locked out of my house or need my locks rekeyed after dumping a crazy boyfriend (not that I'm speaking from experience there. I swear.). p.s. I would do business with these guys again. Why not five stars? Well. they're just too pricey. I called for some lock removing and rekeying one night about 5pm and they were able to schedule me the next day for 11am. Since I didn't have an emergency that was fine, and I impressed upon them that I had to leave at noon so they couldn't be late. True to their word, my technician MIke, called about 9:30 and said he was done early with another job and would head my way if I wanted. Sure do I said. Mike came, did all the work I scheduled, and did it quickly, proficiently and pleasantly. Like I say, I'd use 'em again. But that "trip charge" bullshit has got to go. $60 to show up at my house? During business hours? On a weekday? When you're less than five miles from my house? Now that's just bullshit. When they found out I was "active" military status, they attempted to perform an expensive service for no charge! I made them charge me something because no one works for free. Called in, described the work scope for a rental property rekey, and they quoted me a price. Seemed reasonable, so I took it. After the work was complete, the estimated price of $165 had mushroomed to $248. There was one (1) additional deadbolt cylinder that was added to the original work scope. They DID provide fast service (needed the work done quick), so that's why I'm giving them 2-stars. **** Update- was later contacted by Advanced who explained that the cost increase from the original estimate was due to the keyless deadbolt; i.e. the additional cylinder mentioned above. read more

These guys are good. I needed spare motorocycle keys for a bike my son just purchased. They have key blanks on hand, but in my case I had pre-ordered blanks from the dealer. I walked in, and the guy at the counter was pleasant and chatted me up as he cut the keys. $4.75 per key is the quoted rate presumably for double-side cut. The keys worked flawlessly. read more

I have an old-school trunk which was missing the key. The lock was closed and through a little quick research I found that I needed a T46 key. I initially went to another large locksmith who sold me a key that locked similar to the T46 key but didn't work. I then went to Advanced Lock Solutions and brought the trunk with me. The man working there was unfamiliar with the lock or the appropriate key, but he spent less than a minute looking at keys on a back wall and brought one back that instantly opened the lock. Because it was not the "official" correct key for the lock, he patiently showed me how to insert the key at a slight angle and the lock opens easily. Five stars for efficiently solving the problem and for making sure the problem wouldn't reoccur (by patiently making sure I could open the lock myself before leaving). If ever need Locksmith services again in the future, I will be back. read more

This is a great lock and key copy service. I called several locksmiths when I needed locks changed on short notice and Advanced Lock Solutions met my simple criteria - changing my locks within 3 hours! The price premium for immediate service was only $15 more than scheduled service, which is a lot cheaper than other locksmiths.The serviceman was professional and even made multiple copies of the keys I needed, at the same price as Home Depot (and thus saved me a trip and time). He even advised me on lock placement guidelines and installed a missing plate on one of the doors at no charge. I have used them twice to work on locks for our Church, and once I had them copy a fairly expensive car key for me. I have to say I have been really impressed so far. They might be a little more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for. I am more than willing to pay a little more for good service, than go cheap and get poorly made keys, or poorly installed locks. I am about to call them again to have some more work done, if this experience with them is anything less than stellar I will revise my review, but so far so good! read more

Great experience with this company. I actually first called Cothrons, but while they were very nice on the phone they weren't very helpful. I needed to have quite a bit of work done at my rental house and the woman on the phone told me they couldn't tell me if the technician who would arrive would have all the pieces they needed to complete the job or even if I went and purchased them to have them on hand if the technician would even be able to install that type of lock. And she wouldn't check for me, she told me the best she could offer was I can ask the technician when he arrived or on the phone if I was able to speak to him when he was on the way.. Seems like a waste of time and money for me that they wouldn't do it and quite honestly a pretty silly setup if that's their MO. So, I went ahead and called this company instead and it was the complete opposite experience. The person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and made some great recommendations. The technician that called to come to my house was very accommodating as I wasn't able to get there very quickly and he adjusted his schedule so that we could find a time that would work for us both. He arrived promptly and got all the locks installed, existing ones rekeyed, made sure they all work, and reviewed all work with me. We had a deadbolt that broke on an outside building. Even though I said there was no hurry, they were out within the hour. The drilled the lock out and had a new one installed in no time. Very nice and professional staff. The total cost was $140, but it was also an "after-hours" call. read more
