This place is great - they have a very wide selection of colors and both the swatches and bottles are on an easily accessible display. The business itself is impeccably clean and beautiful, and the design is minimalist and relaxing. All the employees I have met are incredibly helpful and kind; both the manicurists I have had were amazing nail technicians and I enjoyed our conversations very much. At $38, Aer is slightly over 40% more expensive than my other go-to salon, Town's, which only charges $25 for a gel, yet the overall experience, including the quality of the manicure (easily lasts 3 weeks), makes the trip well worth it. I came here for a pedicure and it was great. The interior is very minimal, decorated in all white with nothing extra or showy in the decor. The pedicure chairs are comfy, with working massage functions, and everything felt very clean and nice. They have a sandpaper machine scrubber for your calluses and treat you to a hot stone massage on your legs, included with the standard pedi. Complimentary mini bottles of water and a huge polish selection round out the pleasant experience. A bit pricy when you can go elsewhere for less, but they do a fabulous job and the pedi has lasted a week so far, still looking brand new. read more

Came for a gel application + nail art because I saw some of their work on IG (and Yelp!). Kim was super sweet and gentle with the file (a big deal for me because I've been cut by the file many times before at salons). I got a half moon "mani" on all nails, and they count nail art by the minute, so more advanced styles are pricier, etc. It came out to be about 15min ($15 for the nail art), and I was pleasantly surprised! I used to get pedicures every two weeks, but now that I live in the city and have all those city expenses, my feet became less of a priority. I received a gift certificate for my birthday for a mani and pedi, and they let me use the pedi first, and the mani a few months later. It was for a regular mani but I paid the difference for gel. The pedi was great - 45 minutes with hot stones, scrub, and foot massage all part of the base price. This was my first gel mani ever and although I bite my cuticles to shreds, the technician did not judge or scold me at all like every other place I have gone. She was a bit giggly when I didn't know what to do next, and said she could tell it was my first gel mani. We all have to start somewhere... It took a bit longer than the online booking system told me (60 minutes rather than 45), probably because my cuticles needed so much work, but it was relaxing to watch HGTV the whole time. The gel is amazing - I love that it dries so quickly and doesn't chip. They reminded me that it should last two full weeks and if not, to come back so they can fix any chipping or peeling for free. The place is clean and quiet, and in a perfect location with a T stop right out front and plenty of metered spots. The prices are what I would expect. The bathroom is a bit of a journey to the back of the salon, down the stairs, and then back to the front of the salon, but at least they let you use it unlike some other places. I have been getting manis and pedis from Aer Nailbar for years! I went to college in the area and I just love the atmosphere at the salon. However, recently the quality of their gel nail polish has been going down. I am pretty sure they are WATERING DOWN THEIR COLORS with clear top coat because I got the same color at a different salon (OPI's Holidazed Over You) and the difference in the color after two layers was incredible. Also, normally my OPI gel manicures last more than 2 weeks before chipping or peeling, but the past two times I got a gel manicure here, the gel lifted from my nails within the first week. I am sad to say I will not be going back to Aer Nailbar after this. read more

I've been to this place for my nails since it opens - the original reason why I came here was its cleanliness. Overall it's a good place as a nail bar, and here are some pros and cons of it. I only did eyebrow wax once, so this comment is only for nails bar. Good: 1. So many choices of colors. As a person who have problem choosing, I felt good and bad at the same times. 2. For most of time technicians do great jobs. The shape is right, the nails are fully covered. 3. It's clean. And the atmosphere is good. 4. There's shoulder massage. Bad: 1. Almost no walk-in available. As it gets more popular in Brookline, I never see walk-in chance. At least it never had walk-ins when I tried to walk in. 2. Sometimes technicians cut my finger. I've been there at least 10 times and I'll say they cut me at least 3 times. Not serious cut, tho. Just hurts when I press my finger. 3. The price. As far as I remember, $38 for mani (+$5 w/ removal), and $54 for pedi. So if you wanna a set of service you are gonna pay over 100 with tips. 4. Gel doesn't last long. Normally it chips about a week. I expect a better gel which can last longer with such a price. (As what they told me, this gel is better for the nails that it doesn't hurt nails that much.) So far so good. I will come back because it's not so bad that I want to change a place. I also recommend it to my friends and my friends kinda like it too. read more

They have a lot of color choices and the technicians usually do a good job (and everyone seems pretty nice). Great pedicure at a super clean and welcoming salon. At $35, it was a little more than I'm used to paying, but my toes definitely look better than usual and it was a really relaxing experience. The pedicure area is private and calm and HGTV was playing. The massage was good, but not great, but in the end I'm happy I tried it. I'd probably only go back on a special occasion or when i really want to pamper myself, as it wasn't THAT much better than my $22 pedi in Beacon Hill. This is my favorite place to get a pedicure and a manicure in Boston. The prices are a little more expensive than an average place but it is worth it. Everything is exceptionally clean and sterile and they use throw away plastic tubs for the foot baths. The staff is every friendly and great at their job. As far as nail salons go this is also one of the more ethical places I have ever been. The workers all seem to be treated very well and actually want to be there. They do a great job taking care of their customers and always have hgtv on in the background. I love that you can do online reservations as well. While waiting for gel removal to happen, there is an awesome neck massage - which definitely sets Aer apart from the rest. The other thing I really like is the atmosphere. DON'T BE FOOLED!!!!!! I used to frequent Aer Nailbar frequently. I recently had a mani pedi and will not return. I requested the Dazzle Dry product for both services. I use Dazzle Dry for my. Manicures and an very familiar with the product and process. I choose a node shade and asked the technician if she had another bottle as this one seems thick and gooey. Her response was that it was just me the way I applied it. When I asked the technician if she had the base and top coat she told me she did. She then reach into her pocket to pull out the base. I found this odd. When I asked her if it was a DazzelDry base she said yes. I asked to see the bottle and then she went on to explain the full from a larger bottle of Dazzle Dry. I said if I am paying an up charge for the Dazzle Dry the. I want to be sure the product is Dazzle Dry. I believe what they are doing is illegal. She continued to tell me that I was picky. Hmmm next time I will seek out a reputable nail salon. read more

My experience at the AER Nail Bar was nice, though a little over priced. The reason why I am giving two stars is when I removed my nail polish yesterday my nails were stained! I used more nail polish remover, washed my hands multiple times and showered and they're definitely stained by something they use there. It's very upsetting that I'll have to walk around with hideous stained nails or pay to get a manicure somewhere else. read more

Their customer service and appointment scheduling is aweful and unfriendly. I scheduled for 10:30am on Sunday but mentioned when scheduling that I'd need a half an HR window given I wouldn't be able to predict when exactly I might get out of an overnight shift at work. I showed up at 10:40am and they canceled my appointment saying they wouldn't be able to fit me in period. This could only happen if either they were just in too much of a hurry to schedule appt and not really listen to customer requests or lie about accommodating customers despite appointments because they in reality function on first come first serve/walk-in basis.
