This place is amazing! Not only is the environment super warm and welcoming as soon as you walk, there is wonderful music playing and super super sweet staff to great you. Dr. Taylor was amazing. He made sure my partner felt comfortable in the chair and instructed him on everything he was doing before he did it. He even let me get my chair closer to provide moral support. As well know going to the dentist can be scary but not once did my partner or me feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Don't waste your time here when it comes to braces. I had several children treated by Dr. Taylor that have had to go to another orthodontist to correct the problems from his office (excessive amounts of cement put on permanent retainers) to being told the only way to correct things was to have surgery. We are now seeing an orthodontist- that only deals with braces and nothing more. Prices are very much affordable with a payment plan that doesn't break the bank. Make sure your provider is up to date with technology and licensed for the specific treatment you are receiving. If the graduated years ago - they are not giving you the best service. read more

I hate going to the dentist. Despise it. I have had really bad experiences and try to avoid it at all costs. I went yesterday and had such a pleasant experience! I had a deep cleaning and Gail, the dental hygienist, was fabulous! She really took care of me and explained what she was doing and why. Maybe this is what they are suppose to do but I have never had that. Their service was amazing as well as their staff. They really know how to take care of you! I will definitely be back! Following my move downtown from the 'burbs, I was looking for a new dental practice for my teen daughter and myself. I actually stumbled upon an ad for Affordable in the Dallas Observer; which lead to some skepticism at first (LOL), but the offer was good so I thought, "Why not give them a try!" I'm so glad I did! We've found our new 'home' for dental care there. Everyone I encountered, including Dr. Taylor, was gracious, friendly and professional. Our teeth cleaning was handled promptly, no long wait before service. The offer also included teeth whitening, something my daughter in particular needed. I have to give it to them and I can say. I am VERY VERY proud of my braces after its been 5 years from another county and area THUMBS DOWN. I love this company , and my orthodontist. THUMBS UP!!! They have worked with me financially, and have great benefits to those that cant meet in other areas as far as cleaning etc. I plan to still come here living 40mins away. Great happy service and satisfaction to the fullest after 2yrs of losing my coverage on insurance they never turned me down still gave me a chance . I finally got my braces. I dont know what I'd do without Manuella. She is always there she answers questions explains processes and what to expect. Manuella is an asset to this office and frankly I dont want anyone else to adjust my braces. I will have to wait for her or reschedule. My family and I have been going to this dentist for about 10 years, both of my eldest children got thier braces here. We had good experiences in the past but now things have changed. I made an appointment for my youngest daughter on a Saturday so that I would not have to pull her out of school to go in for an Orthodontics evaluation when we got there the place was packed and things were moving quite slowly but I never worried about it because like I said we always had good experiences before but after waiting for an extensive amount of time I went to the front desk and then she decided to let me know that they were short staffed and did not know how long it was going to take. I chose to leave since it was my grandson's birthday and rescheduled. I received an email confirming my daughter's appointment for today and when I went in waited for about 30 minutes the rude young lady behind the desk let me know that there was an emergency and the dentist was not available that day and that they had tried to call me on my old phone number although I had updated my information on the first failed appointment they just didn't update it in their system, at the very least they could have sent an email to cancel. but either way I'll never return it was the worst experience ever. read more

This is a long over due review about the place that I've spent the last two and half year getting my ortho treatment done. So, to start, I wanna say how grateful I am that there is such a caring and professional person such as Dr. Taylor around and in charge. He and his team are welcoming and down to earth and know what they are doing. I did feel listened to and taken care of through out the whole process. Dr. Taylor himself would always ask me if I have any questions or concerns after every inspection he gave my teeth. If I did have any comments or concerns, he would talk/walk me through whatever it was I needed more information about. And if I didn't have anything to add, he'd wish me a good rest of the day. I have been to other dentists where I would ask questions and would receive answers in a condescending tone and/or be questioned as to why I would even ask questions in the first place. Odd! But anyways, Affordable Dentistry also offered my mother and I payment plan that honored my lack of insurance, thus sticking to their name and making the payments easy and affordable haha. There were only few times where I felt that specific employees gave off rude vibes. Such as the receptionist at the time and one of the dental hygienists. I didn't feel all that welcome by them. Though, I do understand that I am a naturally sensitive person and that we all have our days, but I did take offense to it. Interestingly though, I do not see one of them working there anymore. But aside from that, my experience there has been a good one and I will continue to come get my cleaning done here. Oh and yes, my teeth came out great :) I recently had my braces officially removed and I'm very satisfied with the results. So, I appreciate everything you've done, Affordable Dentistry! I am beyond pleased with the treatment and care I received from Affordable Dentistry and Orthodontics, Dr. Carmichael especially. Everyone from the office staff to the dental assistants to the doctors operate in a friendly and professional manner. I had all of my remaining upper teeth pulled and received same day immediate upper dentures. Returned for a deep lower teeth cleaning a week later and had 2 bottom teeth pulled. A few days later I received my partial bottom dentures and they fit firmly and securely and look great! It was a scary procedure but the staff was amazing at helping me through the process. The first time I used Affordable Dentistry was when I lost a a front tooth on a set of dentures. They actually have a denture lab in house. They fit me in one hour and my dentures were repaired in t a total of two hours. I was new to Dallas and was a new customer. Since I was not happy with my present dentures they gave me a bid on a new set and held the price for four months I just received the new set and and very pleased. The last set never fit well and I had to add adhesive about every hour through the day. These don't even need adhesive and they are really pretty. The workmanship is excellent. I can tell Dr. Taylor cares about me and my teeth. So I'm a believer in his practice for life (I've now been a patient for some years). I waited to post this review until my first major work was done. Well I could NOT be happier!!!! Dr. Carmichael is awesome. He did a great job and made a bad thing into not so bad (I had to have four extractions and a partial). Dr. Carmichael is very competent and kind. Every single tech that worked with him has been so wonderful and kind as well. My partial came out awesome, I am really happy with it. They have already adjusted it two times (in fact they quickly worked me in with no notice) and they kept fixing it until it was perfect. Also, the price is awesome. I paid less then half of what my old dentist was going to charge me and he was no where as nice or good as Dr. Carmichael. I normally do not take the time to review things (even when I am mad lol), but I did this time because that is how thankful I am to this group for giving me back a smile that is not embarrassing! What a great dental practice. I have tried nearly a dozen dentists across DFW from the big chains, schools.. and small practices and never once had such a great experience as I've had here. They don't gouge you by billing for "multiple" fillings on a single tooth as so many do, nor are they instantly pushy to replace crowns that don't need to be replaced. Their billing staff will work with you and show you all of the options available from pre-payments, insurance timing to get the best bang for your buck and will rework the numbers back and forth to make them work for you. A huge advantage for not only time but expense is they have their own lab, so they do not need to refer you to another specialist for things like implants or making crowns. I've worked with both Duane Taylor and Bryan Carmichael, both very professional and informative. All procedures nearly pain free and I'd recommend working with them over any other practice in DFW. read more
