Awesome people! My son locked my keys in the car and they came all the way from Honolulu to the marine corps base on kbay. Took 5 min and they accept credit cards outside of store if you're stuck on the side of the road with no cash! They really worked with me and was patient for me to get them a pass to come on base. I can't say enough good things about these guys! I came home from work yesterday and found that my home had been broken into. I was absolutely terrified and seeing that it was already after 6pm didn't think I would find anyone willing to change all my locks that night (but was SURE I would not be able to sleep/feel safe until the locks were changed/secure). After listening to my story, they went out of their way to come help me..even coming after hours and driving through the end of rush hour traffic to Ewa. There were no surprises or crazy charges and the locksmith showed up at the time I was quoted. Very friendly and made sure to explain what he did and answered all of my questions. Wow! These guys are awesome! They are very friendly, helpful and professional. I was in dying need of getting into my apartment since I forgot my keys and when I called them they answered right away and had someone sent over to me promptly. I didn't think of calling my Realtors at the moment mainly because they weren't open but while waiting I figured I try and call to see if my Realtors had a spare....and they did. I called looking for a locksmith. The person who answered the phone was very curt and to the point. He said I only replace the lock, no repair. It was off-putting. I tried another company advertised as Tropical Key & Safe. The same guy answered. I asked him for 3 repairs, but as I was giving him more information he told me 'I don't warranty nothing because you have some skills. Go look on Utube.'. I've been meaning to write this review for a year. My parents did something to their house's doorknob lock, and none of us could get the handle to turn and unlock. I looked online and decided to call AA Affordable Locksmith & Sons--what a great choice! It wasn't an emergency, and I told them so, and along came the nicest young man (from reading the other reviews and taxing my memory I think it was Sean) who miraculously touched the knob and it turned. Augh! Seriously, I am not crazy and it really *wasn't* turning before. That, of course, gave me concern that it would happen again, but he spent some time going over it and determined that it was fine (and it's worked for a year, so he was right). He wouldn't accept any payment--he said it was on his way home from work (based on where he said he lived it was a little out of his way) and to give them a call if it happened again. My mother said I shouldn't write a review that says he didn't charge us, but I think that illustrates integrity, great customer service, and true Aloha Spirit. We will call AA Affordable Locksmith & Sons for any lock needs in the future and recommend them highly to our friends in Honolulu. read more

I lost my car key the other night so I decided to call this company. Richard answered right away and I told him my problems. Asked a few questions then drove all the way here in Waipahu 20 minutes later. He seems to know exactly what he's doing and got all the materials or equipment needed for it. Add another 20 minutes and my car key is replaced. The fact that it was quick, no need appointment etc. makes it easier for me. I can't wait to drive my car again, so thanks Richard! I called AA Affordable Locksmith at 8:30am when we got locked out of our warehouse in Kalihi. The lady on the phone that was less than pleasant, said someone would be by in 30-45 minutes. I thought to myself, okay not bad. WRONG. They showed up at 10:30am. That's 45 minutes later than promised. I also called TWICE and spoke to a rather rude male that never seemed to let me finish a sentence before he cut me off. Do yourself a favor, and find a different lock smith, one with decent customer service skills, and with people that know how to communicate if they're going to be late! read more

Buyer beware! I bought a used Chrysler Town & Country last year that came with only one remote keyless entry fob. I chose Affordable Locksmith & Son to get a 2nd remote based on the great reviews posted on Yelp. They're obviously busy cause it was a bit of challenge to set an appointment with them. I ended up in front of their shop on Beretania. I spent $250 to purchase and program the new 7-button remote as well as cut the emergency key. He had to reprogram an additional time because after the first time the power liftgate didn't respond. After that, everything seemed to work well...until. Later that evening I noticed a warning on my car's LCD screen that stated "RKE battery low". When I changed back to the original key, the warning went away. I had to put my van in the shop for unrelated body work the next day, so I wouldn't be able to do anything about the bad key for a couple weeks while it was fixed. I then started a new job which took my attention and distracted me from the bad key for a couple months...we just used the original instead. My girlfriend and I each replaced the small battery i the remote and the warning still wouldn't go away. Soon the remote stopped working to unlock/open the doors, but it did still work in the ignition to start the car. By the time I got to address the key 3 months had passed. When I spoke to Mr. Richard he informed me he only warranted the remote for 30 days and he wouldn't replace it. He said the only thing he could do was make me another key and "charge me accordingly". I checked his website and my receipt and neither provided a warranty. I would've sworn when I bought the remote he stated there was a 6 month warranty, but my bad for not getting anything in writing. I don't know how many other defective remotes he's sold, but my was certainly one of them. My recommendation is to go with a company that provides their warranty in writing...preferably one that's longer than 30 days. Plenty of sources warrant for 180 days or more. I won't be giving this company anymore of my money. read more

Just had the privilege of meeting Richard today . I lost my key to my Ford expedition last week so i called him this morning to see if he was going to be able to make it out today . I live in Laie now normally when i tell people that the first thing they say is " Oh i'm sorry but you are going to have to bring your Truck out to me " , So i was really surprise when he Immediately said "I can be there by 11am . It doesn't stop there before he got here he assured me that when he lift that i would have a key that open and started my car . An thats exactly what i got there was some hiccups and it did take him a little bit longer than he would of like but he keep his word . By the time he left i not only had 1 key but he gave me 2 keys that open and started my car , He is someone i would highly recommend to anyone that needs a locksmith .
