Despite the large scope of the job, everything was finished in a timely manner, looked great, and functioned perfectly. Just as importantly, they treated our home with respect. Before leaving, they made sure everything was clean and tidy, leaving no trace of the extensive work they had completed throughout the day. It's rare to find a company that consistently delivers this level of service year after year. We highly recommend them and are grateful to have a plumbing team we can trust whenever the need arises.

I called at 8am and explained that I had to leave by noon for an essential family celebration. I was told someone would be there in two hours. When I called back to say no one had come I was put on hold, and the reps seemed unsurprised and indifferent. In the end, I waited 7 hours and felt I'd been misled simply to get the gig; with more information, I'd have shopped around and found someone who could keep their word. But at least the guy who did the work was responsible and professional. There is that.

While…read morethe cause of my leak seems to be resolved (at least for now) it did bother me that I took the time to ask several times with the dispatcher "Taneea"(sp) and she said there was no fee to diagnose and I kept asking are you sure because in order to see where the leak is coming from my bathroom upstairs from the shower and where it settling we need to look at the pipes underneath where the drywall is and that involves cutting the ceiling drywall. And I asked her again several times if there's any charge for leak tracing or anything she was leaving out just to look and see before repairing and she said no, there's no diagnostic charge. They get here and tell me it's gonna be $125 just to cut the drywall and I just don't understand how there can be such a disparity between what I verified by phone and what I was being told now. And even if I give them the benefit of the doubt that the dispatcher was mistaken (though that's something very strange for a dispatcher who works for and represents a company to say, if not true) the fact that she did tell me that clearly, you would think to keep a customer they would stand by their own word, so not a great first impression. I still paid them $455 to change the cartridge in my shower, but they would not take five or ten minutes to cut up two 6"x6" holes in the drywall and look inside to see if there's any other extensive damage or leaking. I may just leave it for now and keep an eye for any signs of staining or moisture rather than deal with drywall repair. I still will inspect around the electrical where the ceiling fan canopy is and remove it from the ceiling to see if there's any water damage to the fan and light fixture or if it can be salvaged and still works once all is dry and I can restore power to the room. But they refused to look for any signs below to ensure there were no other signs of a leak unless I paid more. Another thing is with a large hole behind the shower faucet escutcheon where the leak occurred what's to keep another cartridge from failing and leaking right down into the room below and getting into the electrical and drywall and ruining another ceiling fan? I wish they'd have taken the time to tell me how to seal off that wall behind the faucet handle or given me suggestions but they just kind of did their job and left. They didn't offer me any advice or tips to prevent this again or set my mind at ease, and taking the time to do that would have made me feel more "taken care of" and built a rapport as a new customer. They just wanted to do the job I asked and go. So while I have no other complaints so far, they didn't go the extra mile or make me feel reassured at all for such a serious issue. It was just a "job" to cross of their list and not spend a second longer than necessary to show, discuss or reassure.

We ultimately paid way too much for a basic 50 gallon hot water heater swap (bundled price of almost $3000). I was out of town and my wife was busy with work when this happened. We had used Bumble Bee Plumbing in the past and trusted them. That trust has been broken and will never return. My wife left a Google review. There was a response posted as "response from the owner" which left a phone number of 602-813-0298 to call so we could speak with their "manager" to address our concerns. I tried to call that number twice...it's been disconnected! Do your research, get multiple bids and verify that the company you are calling is truly LOCALLY OWNED and has not been rolled up under some private equity structure. We have all seen countless stories about how private equity could care less about the customer and how they leave a trail of destruction and debt in the end. It's largely about profits, margins and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization). This is the valuation metric that's referenced (with a multiple applied) when they sell. In most cases, that's ultimately ALL PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS CARE ABOUT! It's a sad yet not surprising story on the fleecing of America! All I can say about Bumble Bee Plumbing is my experience was very different this time and it appears that since my last time using them, private equity has gotten involved. I'll let you draw your own conclusions! Would love to see a customer advocacy/awareness story on one of the local news affiliates about how private equity has consolidated so many previously locally owned trade businesses (plumbing, HVAC, electrical). This might be a good starting point for that type of story.

My hot water tank gave out. I called Zest Plumbing and they set me up for an appointment to provide A quote for a new tank at 8am the next morning. Their quote was very reasonable and so I called to set up an install. they arranged it for that afternoon!! Brandon arrived on time and installed the new system in 90min flat. He explained everything before he got started and after he finished as well as at key points during the process. He even explained how I could fix the outside spigot in the future myself if I wished. I love that he treated me like an equal and didn't talk to me like it was something I couldn't understand with my small woman brain. Unfortunately some other companies out there do that. I have had 2 hot water heaters installed with them and have been very pleased with the installations in both. I had a Bradford White water heater installed by them in 2018. And while I have seen many statements saying they are the best in the industry, was disappointed when in failed after only 8 years. I was told by them, that this was pretty normal for water heaters. I have been around for many years and in my experiences, the Bradford White lasted about half as long as all other water heaters I have owned. In, addition, the installation and warranty costs about 4x the cost of the heater, so I felt that this was a lot of expense for such a short lifespan. I was still suffering from sticker shock when my Bradford White failed. I called Benjamin Franklin hoping I could get some warranty compensation. Wouldn't you know, the warranty had just expired. Ugh! Okay, one of the things that Benjamin Franklin is very good at is fast service. They were out at my house the same day. Kudos for that! This time I was told that I would get better longevity and a better warranty with a Navien tankless unit. I had always wanted to try one of these. They are supposed to be more efficient as well because they don't have to keep 50 gallons of water hot. Okay, they had my ear, but again, the unit was terribly expensive; a little more than 4x the cost of the $2,000.00 unit. That includes the service calls to clean the unit once/year for the 10 year warranty term. This is required to keep from voiding the warranty and important with these units. The installation was done in one long day. The tech was here until about 8pm, but did a very nice job. Last, I expressed my concern to the tech. that sold the unit to me, about the cost of the tankless unit, he told me that there were federal incentives and Mfr. rebates that would help. After the installation, I contacted the Mfr. and was told that there were no rebates or incentives for 2026. Seems Benjamin Franklin should have known this. Professional work, super-fast service, but really expensive.

My situation involved replacing a Rheem Hybrid Water Heater that failed during year 5, of that under a 10 year warranty. Rheem agreed to replace this without charge, although I had to pay Labor. I attempted to deal with Local Plumbers, Carefree/North Scottsdale, but to no avail. The usual nonsense, not returning calls, or showing up. I then remembered hearing of West Coast on KJAZZ/KBAQ, and called. Everything from that initial call, to the completion was perfect. The interesting part was that the Tech, Logan, was also able to fix a water leak from a pipe at my pool. The only 'hiccup' was with the Rheem Distributor, and fortunately, John, Owner of West Coast, was able to, in a creative manner, work that out. I will soon call this Firm to affect Annual HVAC Service.
