I could eat a bowl of the greens, amazing flavors... fried fish, pineapple meatballs, mixed greens

The food selection was amazing. I liked how clean everything was and you have the option of dining in or take out. I did want authentic African food and disappointed to find no fufu but the fish alone made up for that and the cornbread well, go try it

Oxtails anyone?? I came here to try the Yelp 2023 Food Trend: Oxtails and it was DIVINE! ***LOCATION*** As the name suggests, this local gem is on Main st. It's closer to VCU. ***EXPERIENCE*** I had an amazing experience. Before I dive into how great the food was, let me start by shouting out the gorgeous ironwork outside. The facade of this building is stunning and will look great for any all all your Yelp/IG photos. The music is also great inside. When you come here, you can either choose to do it buffet style or order something from the menu. When you do it buffet style, you get charged by how heavy your to-go container is. I just ordered the oxtails this time. They were cooked in a rich and delicious cabbage stew. This dish was greasy in the best way possible. The fufu was the best side for this meal, its starchy wonderfulness sucked up all the oils in a very tasty way. The oxtail melted in my mouth (and the bone marrow was the icing on top). The people who worked here were very kind. ***PRICE*** I paid about $30 (tip and tax included) ***CONCLUSION*** I'm really looking forward to returning to try more of their delicious dishes! The buffet looked and smelled amazing.

The food was delicious, very spicy and tasty. The service was okay the lady was a lil rude but she was dealing with another person at the time, and she was very helpful and sweet

The food was delicious and the ambiance was nice. For a buffet style restaurant everything was at the perfect temperature.

I decided to try Africanne on Main since it is so close to campus, and I wish I found them sooner! They are pay-by-weight buffet. For me, the pineapple ginger juice and cornbread were the highlights! I love how each day there is a different menu. There is also a good amount of vegan options as well. Staff were extremely kind and even came up to us to make sure everything was okay. Restaurant is clean and I liked how the buffet was organized. I highly recommend!!

Chicken egusi, fufu, curry fried fish, potato medley, stew fish, jolof, stew chicken, mango lemonade

Food was good, ambiance was alright, and service friendly but a bit slow. This is a buffet style we went around dinner time on a Thursday and it took a while for them to put out fresh food on the buffet. The dishes were really good, I would really recommend the stew chicken. The mango lemonade drink was also really fresh you can tell that fresh mangos were used. Would recommend as well will be returning!!

We stumbled upon this place after hiking. We really worked up an appetite and this was the perfect place to soothe it! At first, the instructions are not clear so reviews from other Yelpers really helped. Whether you're dining in or taking out the process is the same. You fill up your plates/containers and weight out your food prior to sitting and chowing down. For both of us, it was $40 with drinks, not including the rum cake which was great value for everything we got. There was music playing which really set the ambience. Rex and I loved all the food items we chose and they were perfectly paired with the ginger drinks we got. The drinks were super sweet which paired well with the delicious and savory food. It was also our first time trying fufu and we appreciated the sign suggesting which dish paired best with it. My only critique would be that more interaction from the staff and guidance on the process would have been appreciated. They were friendly with the few interactions we had. We will definitely come back when we're in the area again.

I came here after seeing an elite yelp reviewer talk about their oxtails. I was really confused when I came in, I didn't know where to go to order or where to sit. Once a patron told me which way to go.. take the send left to get to The clerk , who explained the buffet ordering ... so I went for that. When I asked where the OX Tails were she advised that it is a menu item. "OH, THERE IS A MENU?" The waitress looked at my plate and said, I guess it is a good day for fish. Well I have this plate of $8.99 a pound food..so my guest had OxTails. Once we were seated and eating, a very nice waitress came over and explained everything for next time. I hope I have made it better for other first timers. The tails took 2O which they tell you, but the cabbage part was still cold. My guest is disappointed.

The food was great! Both these plates came to about $50 with the water, a little expensive but worth it. Food was $9.99 per pound. Great experience and would definitely go back. Service was good and quaint spot with adequate parking.

I tried them before a long time ago and haven't had them recently, so I was really anticipating having them again. The ordering process was quick and easy, we used their computer screens to put our orders in. Not too bad of a wait for our food. The staff were very communicative on our food status while we were waiting, which I appreciated. My order included an Afro pie (7.5/10), I absolutely loved the sauce it came with, but I do feel like the meat inside and pie itself was dry. Sautéed green beans (10/10). Chicken Egusi soup w/ pounded yam (9/10), the flavors were amazing! I loved how savory it was; however, I do believe they switched the spice level of my soup with my sisters because I asked for none-little spice, yet my soup tasted like it was their highest spice level !! I had to keep taking breaks while eating because while it did taste really good, it was also so so spicy! I really did enjoy my meal, despite receiving the wrong spice level in my Egusi soup. I will def return again soon. My overall rate of experience : 8.6/10

I recently dined at Yendidi and I feel spiritually, emotionally, and culinarily changed…read more First of all, the atmosphere? Immaculate. It's the kind of place where you walk in thinking, "Oh nice," and walk out Googling how to recreate the lighting in your own living room. Cozy without being cramped. Trendy without making me feel like my shoes were judged. The food? Listen. I would like to publicly apologize to my taste buds for ever doubting them. Every bite tasted like the chef stood over the plate whispering, "You deserve this." Bold flavors, perfectly cooked, plated like it was about to audition for a food magazine. Now why four stars instead of five? Because I have trust issues. And also because the food came out so good I now have unrealistic expectations for every other meal I will ever eat. That feels like a burden I wasn't prepared to carry. Service was friendly, attentive, and didn't once make me feel bad for asking, "What's that?" three separate times. Water refills were prompt. Smiles were genuine. No one hovered. No one disappeared into the void. Would I go back? Absolutely. Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I pretend I discovered it before it was cool? Also yes. Four stars. Only because if I give five, they might get too powerful.
