I stumbled across Afterglow before an upcoming weekend trip to Los Angeles in early September when I realized my skin was looking less than great; I was in much need of a skin reset. My skin was looking dull and congested so I went on yelp and searched for the best in BH. Based on reviews I booked with Afterglow for their signature treatment- then I researched who Natalie was (owner, Nurse Aesthetician), what her experience consisted of and WOW! Let's just say she has lots of AMAZING experience. Upon arrival to the elegant skincare studio you are greeted with a smile. Both Natalie and Nadia are wonderful. My first treatment was their signature facial which included microdermabrasion and all sorts of good things. It definitely de-congested my skin and was just what I needed. Just the experience alone was reaffirming I needed to return for to work on my face some more. A month later I went in for micro-needling which Natalie highly recommended for skin texture, post breakout scarring, fine lines, etc. Right after the needling my face looked bright red, 4 days later it looked the best it has in years - it is so good I have another micro-needling appointment coming up as it has definitely improved discoloration and some acne scars. Great skin care starts here. Not only does Natalie pamper your skin, she explains how to take care of your skin and advices you about diet and skin care. I truly love this place, but sadly I live far. However if you're in the area, definitely must go here. I originally made an appt for the microneedling, however when I got there and after Natalie assessed my skin, she suggested we start with a gem peel first to help heal skin (I had a few current breakouts) after the skin is better and healed then we can move on to scar damage removal etc. They don't pressure you to upgrade or try to get packages or treatments you don't need (like some other places I've been to) They truly are amazing!! read more

Just had an amazing appointment with Natalie for the Gem Peel. Started off with a wand that exfoliated my face, neck, and chest. Didn't experience any pain or discomfort with this treatment. Then based on my skin needs she recommended and added a collagen mask. This felt so nourishing and calming. Natalie let me ask all the questions I wanted. Never got annoyed by my non stop questions. She has a lot of knowledge and good recommendations. She never pushed any of their products on me, in fact didn't even bring up any of the products they sell. Clean and relaxing office. Loved the whole experience. Definitely returning for this peel again and the vitamin c peel she told me about. Oh and most importantly the prices are very very reasonable! Especially compared to all the other offices in Beverly Hills. So I didn't have to save up money for a year just to get an amazing peel! I also have melasma on my face (dark spots) and Afterglow does a treatment here that uses micro needling to infuse lightening serum into the melasma. That's going to be my next treatment! I did the Venus Legacy on my tummy area I just had a baby, so it was crucial to get my tummy back to where it was. And boy do I love it! I went to Afterglow today after it being highly recommended by a friend. I arrived to a beautifully, clean and cozy office where I was greeted by two smiling girls, Natalie and Nadia. They made me feel extremely comfortable and Natalie was very knowledgable and professional while explaining what I would have done. I ended up getting a microdermabrasion, cortisone injections and oxygen mask. When I was finished the cystic pimples that were all over my face were nothing but little spots (no longer inflamed). My skin was glowing and supple. I can't say enough good things. I walked into the office so embarrassed about my skin and they both made me feel beautiful and instantly comfortable. This place is really quite magical. Though there are MANY aspects to praise about Afterglow, one of my favorites is their desire to thoroughly understand the skin as an organ. Shortly into my appointment, we were discussing a Medscape article about cysts! I love a practitioner who never stops learning and is always growing in her field. Makes me feel confident that I'm getting the best treatment possible. I received a facial and my skin looks outstanding. I got a facial last month somewhere else and it's almost comical how different my face looks after seeing Natalie than it did from the other place. Just goes to show you that there is a distinct difference between those who "work" as estheticians and those for whom it is their calling. Natalie is definitely part of the latter group. My skin needed a lot of help and she made specific choices about what to do based on my skin's needs. There was no formula and no routine. We focused on what my skin was communicating and that's why it is now, indeed, glowing. Plus, I barely felt the extractions and I needed a lot! Both of these ladies, Natalie and Nadia, are nurses. So they have that compassionate bed-side manner that is so soothing it makes you feel like you're with friends. And yet, they still maintain a professional demeanor as well. I think their personalities are just naturally warm and friendly on top of being well-trained so you're getting the best of all worlds! It smells so good in there. The products are divine. I went to afterglow a few weeks ago and thought I was going to see a big difference in my face after reading all the great reviews. I went in for a microdermabrasion and was greeted by two sweet girls. They made me feel welcomed and I was taken to a nice room that felt very relaxing the moment I walked in. Natalia did my microdermabrasion and was very nice. She made me feel comfortable. If I was to grade the two girls, I would give them a 5. But I am giving 3 stars because I have acne issues and Natalia did not recommend other procedures that would be more helpful to my face. I did microdermabrasion because I thought it would give me good results for my skin but after the treatment I did not see significant results. I also bought more products on the way out, believing they would help my skin. I used those products for about 2 months and saw no difference. I felt really disappointed and ripped off. I left feeling good and hopeful the day of my visit but did not see results the following days, nor weeks. I know one treatment doesn't work magic, but when it doesn't show significant results and the products weren't helping either I felt it wasn't worth it. I also asked Natalia if they took insurance and they aren't a medical office, everything is mostly cosmetic so if you have acne issues or severe types of issues I wouldn't recommend this place. If you just want some sort of simple facials or oxygen mask, I guess this would be the place for you. read more
