After the Puente Hills Mall and the Arcadia location closed, I was under the wrong impression that I would now have to go to the Pasadena or the Little Tokyo location to get to Beard Papa's. I always passed by on the way to the maid cafe, so I had a vague inkling that there was a location here, but my lack of object permanence kept pigeon holing it in my mind until I finally went to visit with friends. Plenty of seating and the ladies working were all super nice and polite. Make sure to grab a stamp card too! Ambiance is very chill and gives a slight mom and pop shop vibe despite being a franchise, probably due to the fact that they've been in this location since forever. Our visit was for the Arknights Endfield collaboration and the special 4 cream puff set came with a sticker sheet, keychain, and game code post card with the promotional art. The keychain is at random and is one of the 4 featured characters and the sticker sheet has all 4 of them. Due to how full we already were and the plan to get more desserts and drinks later, our group only ate 2 of the cream puffs that came with the set. We tried the Perlica (blue cotton candy shell with vanilla custard) and the Tangtang (Oreo crumble shell with cream filling). Both were very sweet and rich and definitely filled to the brim with custard/cream inside. Definitely have napkins ready and do NOT smush or harshly poke the cream puffs unless you want a mess. It's also easier to take bites of the cream puff than any other attempt to share them. Outside pastry part had a nice crispy shell to it that held everything together nicely and the filling was sweet and smooth. Icing on top was generous too, adding another layer of sugary sweetness. They're solid as always for cream puffs, but this location doesn't seem to have anything too special about it. Service is quick and they are efficient, so will take what I can get. Dubai chocolate puff was delicious and beautiful presentation!! (Limited time only flavor. $5.75) The chocolate custard filling was so good and creamy, and it was completely filled, no empty spaces. It's a bit sweeter than the original cream puffs. On top, there's the pistachio nuts, baked kataifi, and white chocolate drizzle. I personally wish there were more pistachio and that they're chopped into small pieces. Also, the puff itself tasted a bit stale unfortunately. I also got a free original cream puff with my free card from 8/8 day purchase. This puff tasted much fresher and perfectly crispy and crunchy. There was a generous amount of custard filling. It's been awhile since I've had beard papa, and these were sooooo good and nostalgic. We tried the matcha, ube, chocolate I believe, and the originals. Service was fast, and the guy that took our order was really nice. Will definitely come back to try more! Went to Beard Papa's with my family after eating lunch nearby. The staff was so sweet to my toddler and even gave her a mini puff on the house. The puffs were delicious - crunchy outside with a very generous amount of cream filling. The puffs are perfect and not too sweet (one of the few desserts that my mom enjoys too). I've been a big fan of Beard Papa's for over 10 years and they're still delicious and made fresh throughout the day. The chocolate filling kind of reminded me chocolate pudding lol. Honey and Butter Puff w/vanilla bean filling $3.95 - This one is supposed to come with wild flower honey but I ould not tell the different between this one and an original puff, but it was still so yummy! Cookie Crumb Puff w/ vanilla bean filling $3.95 - Comes with a crunchy sugar cookie crumb. Surprisingly good, the cookie gives it a slight bite and crunch. 2 Mini Cheesecake $2.95 each -- Not bad, but I'll pass on this next time. Have passed by this place so many times since I live close by and finally got the chance to try it. I'll start by saying I've never really tried a cream puff so this was my first impression. What called to me was the cream brûlée puff and I will say it did not disappoint, my favorite from the 3 I got. The strawberry one I felt was very plain and didn't get enough strawberry flavor. This is simply the best treats ! I have been coming here for 10 years and always be soooo happy when I enjoy the cream puffs. The outside is crispy, inside cream is just so delicious without feeling the heaviness of heavy cream. Went on a Sunday during the first day of the Zenless Zone Zero event. Waited for like 2 hours. Got to the front and saw they were working with a skeleton crew. I'm not sure if they were short staffed or what but having 1 employee in the front and 1 running back and forth to the kitchen and the front for the first day of a big event isn't great. I commend the employees for their patience and hard work. Anyways the staff was friendly and everything was made fresh. My family enjoyed the cream puffs and I got my anime swag. I love this Beard Papa's location. This location always has fresh cream puffs and they are the greatest - fluffy with a great outer crisp and filled with delicious fillings. I love the vanilla and green tea custard. The puffs can take some time, but it is because the manager and workers are taking exceptional care in making these tasty treats. Haven't had these since probably grade school days. Got the a mix and match, 6 cream puffs, all the original shells, and got the flavors: vanilla, green tea, and ube. LOTS of custard filling. Parking looked scary at first because it's full and limited but there is plenty of parking on the lower level. The parking is behind the building and you have to walk through the tea shop next door to get to the front of Papa's. I got 6 mini cream puffs with vanilla for $7.00. The dough is light and crunchy and the rest is all custard. These are made so perfectly. It has just the right amount of sweetness. The guy that took my order was very nice and sweet. He said that we had to eat the creme brûlée immediately and not to save it for later. The store is clean and nicely decorated with a Chinese New Year theme. What's not to love? Bread Papa's desserts and service are awesome. I always grab 3 or 4 boxes whenever I'm nearby.

Their cream puffs strike a good balance of crisp and fluffy texture. When it comes to the fillings, they don't have a ton of variety which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They only have Vanilla Bean and Green Tea filling every day with an extra Filling of the Day that seems to rotate. The Vanilla Bean filling is my go-to and never disappoints. It's light without being overly sweet, and there's no weird aftertaste which is sometimes a concern with cream desserts. They do offer more variety in their cream puff flavors, but honestly, I found them to be just okay. The different toppings don't really provide a significant change in taste. As it stands, every flavor (besides the chocolate-topped cream puffs) don't taste too different from the Original, which is what I usually opt for. I think it would be a nice improvement if they introduced different fillings for each flavor to bring some more variety in taste. The service here is what you expect from a dessert spot. Fast and friendly, no complaints at all. Parking has usually been hassle-free for me with spaces available in front and, I believe, a parking lot in the back too. Great spot if you're looking for a dessert that won't weigh you down. A solid choice for a sweet, but light dessert! read more
