Upon entry I was greeted with a smile and very friendly welcome. Mentioned that it was my first time visiting and asked for some customer favorites. Say no more. This is place to walk in, order and leave. They play soft music. The service is quick, and non personal. They have everything ready; it's just a matter of picking what you want, and they'll box it for you. The cookies n cream cheesecake was delicious!!! Staff is distinct & memorable because they're extremely friendly and welcoming. Staff is happier than a Disneyland greeter! It's a bit unusual, but it's refreshing and appreciated. Staff happily explained their goods, and Staff eagerly worked hard. The Cheese Tart arrived immediately since it's pre-made. And the drink took about three minutes. Good time. As mentioned, I ordered the Cheese Tart ($4.50 - Original) and the Brown Sugar Cold Brew ($5.25) with Salted Cheese Foam (additional 50 cents). The Cheese Tart is a must-try! It's a heavy, big tart too! It had a crisp, thick crust and a lovely cheese flavor. It melted apart in my mouth. It's sublime. However, the Brown Sugar Cold Brew with Salted Cheese Foam is an acquired taste. It tastes like caffeinated brown sugar milk tea that's salty. Still, this coffee is not awful; I appreciated its light & resilient caffeine. There's a soft strength in this brew. Personally, it's unlikely that I'd order this again. Regarding ambiance, Uncle Tetsu (Rosemead) is very clean and minimalistic. There's no tables and seats inside. There's a fun model of their mascot, and the interior's colors are playful. Customers should expect an order-and-leave experience. If searching for tables, there are a few shaded outdoor tables by the neighboring Panda Express. The night staff was great! Not exactly sure what time this location closes. I believe on Yelp at that time showed 10pm. We came like 15 minutes before closing. I usually don't like to visit a business when it's near the closing hour. However, we needed to get one for the family. The male staff was so kind. He was offering us samples. Didn't rush us or anyone else who came in after. We ordered the Pandan cheesecake and Ube matcha. I remembered when Uncle Tetsu first arrived in 2015 or 2016, it was only $8.99. We got it for $14. I recently visited Uncle Tetsu located on Rosemead, and it was such a warm and satisfying experience from start to finish. Staff was quite friendly and provided good service. They were very patient, and kept things moving efficiently even with a steady line of customers. The highlight is their signature Japanese cheesecake. So, I was really excited to discover a new location that isn't inside a mall--it's in the same plaza as Walmart. As usual, the service was very friendly. It's so great that Uncle Tetsu is in the Walmart Rosemead shopping center! It's in the far corner, next to Subway and Panda Express. Parking is plentiful. The ambience is bright and cheerful with great displays. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Through the end of February, they had a special promotion where you receive one free cheese tart if you hashtag #Uncletetsu_rosemead on social media, so we received one free cheese tart! When we entered, we were offered a sample of the original cheesecake---so good! I ordered the Matcha Cheese Tart, and my Mom had the Ube Cheese Tart. They are so soft, creamy and fluffy, and the crust is good too. I loved the matcha cheese tart---matcha flavor was very prominent. My Mom also really liked the ube cheese tart. I've been to many locations but this is my all time favorite. They have a beautiful display of their items and a cute statue in the corner with cute decor. I went to this location on a weekday night around 6 PM, and there wasn't any wait for the cheesecakes. I liked the convenience of this location compared to the one in Santa Anita mall, I was able to pull into the parking lot and be in and out in no time. I picked up one of the originals and one of the pandan coconut cheesecakes. Both were delicious, light and fluffy, and "not too sweet" (the best compliment from people that have more of an Eastern palate with it comes to sugar). The Pandan Coconut Cheesecake was a first for me and was a welcome new addition. The texture and flavors are all tasty! The store is clean, welcoming, and the service is on par. However, no seats inside if you wanted to enjoy the cheesecake in the store. Fun fact - Uncle Tetsu is part of "Panda Restaurant Group" which also operates Panda Express. I ordered the seasonal flavor - which was the cherry blossom cheesecake. The box it came in was so pink and pretty. You can really taste the flower flavor but it can get overwhelming since it's not a subtle flavor. They were really quick with packing up my order. Only issue I had was the cashier was probably new so he wasn't familiar with their system. I tried to pay with cash and it wasn't until I finished counting out my total that another worker from the back came over to mention they don't accept cash.
