    Crispy Ramen Egg
    Olivia C.

The space is large and the atmosphere is lively but cozy. Karaage - this was nice. There was a sauce on the side but not sure if it really helped compliment the dish but it was ok Egg - I liked it. The sauce was super flavorful. We asked our waiter if we could get both cut in half and they made a note but they forgot to do it Ramen - I like the hint of yuzu , gives it almost a seafood like taste. Feels less oily / fatty because it's not the pork based broth but at the same time it isn't at rich. It is nice though to have - contrasted from typical creamier ramen.

This place was huge, I was surprised as I'm used to Ramen places being tiny, plus it was Brooklyn. The staff were very friendly and attenttive (but not in an annoying way - but in a "my water glass was never empty" way). I got the Tonkotsu Tantan. The broth had a great creamy pork flavor and the noodles were perfect. My only criticism is that the ground pork didn't have much flavor. I also got the Yuzu Limeade which was tart but also refreshing. I loved the yuzu gummy candies I got with my check, too! Nice touch!

Lovely open air spot by the water in Williamsburg. Was able to get seated right away on the weekend. Ordered two small appetizers (crispy egg & crispy bok choy) which were fantastic & one entree, which I forgot what it was called but it was a cold broth with noodles, char sui and veggies (don't recommend as it had a rather bland taste to it). I would give this spot another try, but maybe for the ramen next time around lol

This place specializes in yuzu- I ordered the yuzu shio ramen and it tasted light and refreshing. I do wish they gave more slices of protein. There was a good amount of noodles though. This restaurant is huge so I think it'd be a place for large parties. They also have private seating if needed.

    Spicy crispy gyoza

The food here was good, but I was a little disappointed. I felt like the broth was just lacking flavor. I was expecting it to have a little bit more of a punch to it. I did think the spicy crispy gyoza were pretty good, though. Considering all the great ramen options in the area, I wouldn't rush back here. I do like the atmosphere. It is very spacious and comfortable, and the service was good. I just felt like the food was lacking.

Came here for dinner on a weekday. I am amazed by how massive this space is for a ramen shop. They can probably host two/three different events if they wanted to. I got to try a bit of everything with a few friends. What I would not recommend are the hand rolls as they only give you one sliver of fish and the rest is rice for $9. For appetizers, I enjoyed the Hamachi Tartare ($23), essentially instead of tuna tartare, with yellowtail instead. I also recommend the Hamachi Carpaccio ($20) Since it was a ramen shop, we felt obligated to order one ramen dish, although they had soo many other offerings. We decided on the Tonkotsu Shio ($19). You can watch them made your ramen, if you're interested in that as it's an open kitchen concept. It's as good as you would expect. Not really advertised in their store name is that they also sell sushi. Unlike the hand roll, these are more worth it. We ordered the Soft Shell Crab Roll ($19) and the Afuri Roll ($20), both were great. And if you're not really interested in eating, maybe you want to catch a sports game, they have a bar in this warehouse turned restaurant space. Plenty to TV screens and they have a very extensive cocktail, sake, and wine menu. You can even get a flight of sake or Japanese whiskey ($25) if you fancy that. So yeah....there's something for everybody, hopefully. If you're looking for comments on the dumplings, unfortunately out of everything we tried, the dumplings was one thing we failed to order. :(

    Hazelnut ramen, gyoza, limeade

Great service, yummy food. Order Ed lunch special with hazelnut ramen, 3 pork gyoza, and limeade. All food arrived quickly, hot and delicious. Ramen was labeled as spicy but I requested less spicy and they happily accommodated my request.

My friend and I came here for dinner on a Thursday night. We made reservations, but they weren't really necessary. It's a huge restaurant! I had the tonkotsu tantan, which was made with tonkatsu broth. It was topped with pork (I subbed the pork crumbles for pork chashu), bok choy, mushrooms, and chili oil, and the noodles were quite thick. It was delicious, especially the broth.

    Poke Salmon Tacos

Came here on a hot day given the nice selection of cold options on their menu - the salmon poke tacos were a 10/10, perfect flavors and texture! I could eat a dozen of these. The yuzu tsukemen was decent, but the broth could've used a bit more balance - super heavy on the citrus flavor. I'd probably recommend trying one of the other ramen options. This place has a massive interior, probably one of the biggest restaurant I've seen in NYC. Service was fast and friendly, and I loved the free yuzu gummies!

    CRISPY.RAMEN.EGGS. DELICIOUS!!

I rate this place a solid 4.5, only because it is a bit pricey, but SUCH a lovely experience. I write this review as a I consume my leftover Yuzu-Tsuyu. Because a 90-degree day is not stopping me from getting ramen if I wanna, and this was my first time trying tsukemen! Now the heavenly tastebud experience you'll have here is with the CRISPY RAMEN EGGS. My Lord, do not pass this up. It's basically deep-fried eggs with a crispy coating, but with that same "over-medium" yolky inside you get with ramen eggs. So simple, yet so PHENOMENAL. And they come in this WIZARD SAUCE (they call it "spicy aioli" but this might be some of the top aioli I've ever had). You MUST get this starter if you come here. The Tsukune (pork meatballs) is also an interesting flavor experience, and quite tender. Now a glass of plum wine would have made a fantastic addition to this meal, in my opinion, but they don't have that here. :( I don't see a drink menu on their website, but there's this blueberry cocktail at the top of the list that I found delicious, so go for that one. Also, I failed to take pictures of the incredible space; this place is spacious (there's a whole 2nd bar in the back), aesthetically-pleasing, kind of a modern-industrial vibe going on, ridiculously high ceilings, and the front of the restaurant was simply open, so we got the table DIRECTLY next to the outside seating for the best of both worlds on a warm summer night. Also, our waitress VANESSA was the SWEETEST person, SO so helpful as we narrowed down our picky options, just such a good vibe, you need to give her whatever waitress-of-the-month/year/whatever trophy or something. HIGHLY recommend you come here!

I can't believe there is an afuri here in New York now! The last time I tried this place was in Portland and I can't believe they finally made mark in NYC. This is actually one of my fave places to take vegans because their hazelnut ramen is very good (saying as a meat eater). I love that this place is below superior ingredients. After a day party in sweltering heat all I wanna do is sit in Air conditioner and eat cold noodles and this place did the trick for me. Their yuzu cold noodles hit the spot and my girlfriend ate hot noodles but I think they gave her wavy noodles instead of straight noodles but I think we were so hungry we didn't really think to change it. It shows thin noodles on their menu but oh well. It seems like they didn't realize. The service was good and nothing amazing but nothing out of the blue. I'm glad I tried it and it seems super convenient- I know I'll be back next time I go to Superior Ingredients!

The ambience and service of this restaurant were 10/10. That said, the food was not particularly special in my opinion. Perhaps I'm not a big fan of yuzu ramen but it wasn't for me.

Omg I absolutely loved the hazelnut ramen. I was not expecting to like this, but it really is amazing. As a vegetarian, this is def the best broth I've had. I usually don't enjoy ramen because the vegetarian broths are only okay, but this was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend getting this even for nonvegetarian!
