Finally wandered back in today desperate enough for Mexican food that I told myself they had probably stepped up their game by now. Alas, no. The carnitas burrito was made with carne asada and although I credit the nice young woman for warning me she had made a mistake with my order, I regret turning down her offer to have me wait while they made it all over again. Because the carne asada was mostly repulsive gristly bits. I ordered a chicken quesadilla for my sprog and although I was warned that it came with lettuce, I didn't realize she meant IN the quesadilla. That was a dealkiller for said sprog. Had the Chile Verde burrito for lunch. Food was just ok, along with the average salsa bar- a solid two stars for the food. Agave gets bumped to a third star because of the great and prompt service, nice decor inside and tidiness of the restaurant. But...I probably won't be coming back. read more

Food is decent. Service is horrible. I couldn't believe it. Super dry burrito asked where is the guacamole and sour cream. She said that's just how they do it. Limited portion. Super rude, unbelievable. Never had a smile, even when I first ordered I asked her if she can split the meat, she responded NO right away without even lifting to her to look at me. My favorites are their breakfast burrito with bacon (enough for two people) and their carne asada soft tacos. Love their mild red salsa. Cheese enchilada plate is very good and so are their Al Pastor tacos. The owner is the best cook - he takes great pride in his food and it is very consistent. Love this place! read more

Downgrading! The salsa bar is still enjoyable however the food being served is lacking quality. The chili verde green sauce tastes like it is straight out of a can; the meat in the albondigas is weird (unidentifiable), hamburger patty and bun taste as though they have been stashed in the freezer for the past year, the shredded beef tasted like it was rinsed with water (why???). It was OK just OK. Had Menudo it was all right someone got lazy and it had big chunks of tripe , I did not finish it. I had a hard shell tacos which were a good try. And what really pissed me off I was not good enough to use the restroom. So they had me go down the hall to this other restroom and after washing my hands , The paper dispenser was all wet it would not dispense paper towels . I've been here twice now. The first time, I got the wet al pastor burrito. If you like al pastor, DO NOT order it here. It's the worst al pastor I've ever had. I was literally pushing it to the side to eat everything else. The good news is they put a lot of meat... Unless you got the pastor... Then it's bad news. This time I got the shredded beef taquitos. The rice is great, the beans are great, the chips are awesome, and even the salsa is pretty good. The taquitos though... Not a lot of flavor. The meet didn't have much flavor to it. Nice little Mexican cafe on Teft across from the Post Office. I tried s combo plate with shredded beef taco and chicken tostada, they were very good. With a drink it ran $10. I think that is very reasonable. The homemade salsa bar was very delicious. The Dining area is small but very clean. Fountain drink is self serve and they carry several cold beer selections. The surf and turf burrito is out of this world. I randomly stopped in for lunch and was amazed. For $10 bucks the burrito is the side of my arm from wrist to elbow (I'm 6'2" tall) and three times bigger. Super tasty. Really good customer service. Random stop. Customer service was good, I think it was the owner or owner's wife. She was patient and attentive. Tried their "Agave" Burrito, all the standard burrito ingredients (chose carnitas) served "wet" with a tasty red and good green sauce. Tab was about ten bucks including a fountain drink, which is comparable to similar restaurants in the area. They do charge for chips and salsa, which I hope changes as I agree with other posts that it is a little strange. With more business maybe they will make them free. Good food and reasonable prices. Only thing is the strip mall it occupies feels run down and investment broke, so not sure about the curb appeal, but not their fault. Will be back. read more

So saying its bad food doesn't even come close. It's so sad that they truly have no clue how to make authentic Mexican food Taco Bell is better and that's pretty sad. Not to sound cheap but what Mexican restaurant charges for chips and salsa? Here's the kicker.... We could see into the kitchen and could see the 3 microwaves the "cook" put the food in to warm it up. I had a simple chicken taco with cilantro and onion, it was ok besides the chicken looked and tasted like Tyson frozen chicken. My boyfriend had an enchilada and the middle of it was still frozen! First, service sucks! Its a taco shop look inside, it is clean, and when you order at the counter you pay which is my first issue...They have you assign your tip at the register...not in a restaurant! After your meal if is an excellent way to let the server know what you thought. I'm a person who tips regardless. But the percentage is important. The girl at the register was very nice and fast. She gets the stars...FOOD IS NOT GOOD! I won't eat here again! The oil with which they cook is ransid! All the tortillas and chips had a bitter taste, and the enchilada sauce was marginal at best! If I could give this negative i would. The food is authentic and good (if it makes it to your table) service is horrible unless you come there nightly the staff ignores you. They were out of basics didn't bring items we ordered served the whole table while another waited 20 min for tacos and the hostess not the server comes back to say there was a mishap with tacocs and walks away. server never checked on us it was not busy at all. I am not sure what the deal is with these people but its sad. there are business struggling to stay open and this place treats the customers that are trying to support local like crap. ill never go back read more
