    Fish Tacos

Five plus stars all around. We started with tall, tasty Lalo Spritzers and tuna tostada (2). The drinks are delicious and the fresh tuna topped with the freshest guacamole and salsa macha on crispy tostadas was so good. We had two orders of tacos on corn tortillas, one shrimp and one fish. Both cooked perfectly. Our server, Carlos, was the best! He's personable, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The interior is welcoming, and the atmosphere fun. The staff seems to gel like a hardworking team. Looking forward to returning soon!

Horchata, little bit pricey at $3 but very good

My husband and I are in Rhode Island this week visiting family and attending a wedding. We were looking for a tasty place nearby our hotel and found this place, I think either on Google Maps or on Yelp. It lives up to its 4.6-star average review, as everything was very good! We started off with drinks, I had the horchata because I'm pregnant and my husband had a guava margarita. I ordered the asada tacos after seeing a picture of it here on Yelp, and they were excellent. They had nice large pieces of steak in it as well as onions and cilantro and some sort of aioli on top. My husband ordered the Mole Colorado and enjoyed that as well. He also had a mezcal negroni, which he liked, and I knew before even coming to the restaurant that I wanted to try its tres leches cake. It's a lot larger looking than it looked in pictures and it was delicious. This place isn't inexpensive, with tip it was about $115 (for two entrees, two cocktails, the horchata, and dessert), but the food was very high quality and I would say it was worth it. I would definitely return again if in the area.

Agave Social is a Mexican restaurant located in the Pier Marketplace in Narragansett. The restaurant, immaculate and with beautiful decor, has a nice outdoor patio, which my dining companion and I enjoyed yesterday. Our server was pleasant and attentive. I just wish the food was better. My friend enjoyed her guava Margarita ($14), but I found it too sweet. We both LOVED the street corn appetizer ($10) which was by far the best dish of the evening. I was disappointed, however, that this restaurant doesn't offer chips and salsa. We chose to split an order of enchiladas but, again, I was disappointed that they didn't offer a red sauce, only mole' or green chilies. At our server's recommendation, we order the enchiladas with mole' sauce ($21). We received 3 chicken filled enchiladas with a small side of rice. I found the mole' sauce to be heavy and bitter, so added an order of grilled fish tacos (3 for $17). The tacos were fine; pretty standard Mexican restaurant fare. Portion sizes were adequate but I think prices are a bit high.

    Carnitas

Went on a Friday after work for dinner with my partner. I had the most delicious spicy margarita and we got the fresh guacamole with street corn as an appetizer. I ordered the birria tacos and my partner got the carnitas. Entrees were out in about 10 minutes. Birria tacos were flavorful and the carnitas were cooked perfectly, not too dry or moist. Staff was really attentive as well! Highly recommend giving it a try - we will definitely be back

Dived into all of our food before getting pics but wow this place was so good!!! Chicken enchiladas verde - per hubby: "oh yeah. super good" he inhaled them! Birria tacos - rich and amazing flavor! A tad greasy but honestly no complaints about it! Apps: guac and street corn were great! For the kids we got sides of steak, rice, and beans. Kids devoured! Honestly can't wait to try more from this place! Service was great and environment inside was clean and classy! We'll be back!

I've now eaten here like 4x in 2 weeks. The asada tacos on flour tortilla is legit the best tacos I've ever had in my life and I've eaten a lot of tacos. Support this place, the food is legit. Atmosphere is nice...outdoor seating...my new favorite

Carnet asada - good but very small for the price

Good spot, I hope they succeed and stick around. There hasn't been good Mexican food in the area in long time so this place is a breath of fresh air. The food is fresh, great quality, and prepared well. The drinks are good too. There are a few little quirks I don't like. For example there are some add ons to the guacamole (corn or steak) for like $3/4. We added corn for like $3 and there was like 10 kernels of corn sprinkled on top of the guacamole. It felt like a rip off. Carne asada was extremely small especially considering the price. Nothing comes with a side, everything is a la cart basically another way to up charge. If you get tacos or a burrito it literally comes on a plate with nothing else, no rice or beans etc. overall the food is very good, I just don't love the execution. It is a weird feeling going out for a dinner for 2 and spending well over $100 on Mexican food. For the price I'd prefer to go somewhere more upscale but I think this place is a great place to grab a quick lunch.

    Branzino
    Mo P.

The food here was a 10/10 slam dunk. My daughter got the Carne Asada and she loved it. I ordered the Branzino. It was phenomenal. Perfectly seasoned, crispy skin, light and flaky on the inside. The prices were very reasonable for exceptional quality of the food and considering the location. Our server was super kind and patient (we asked to move inside the restaurant after being outside for 10 minutes). The inside of the restaurant was beautiful. My only complaint is that their patio area is desperate need of umbrellas. I will definitely be back.

Great food and excellent service. My only complaint is the tequila flight for $25 was a rip off due to the very small pour.

Upon our 5:30 p.m. arrival, my wife and I were immediately seated in the far corner of the outdoor patio. From the beginning, the host's demeanor came across as cold and dismissive. When she told us to "enjoy," her tone made it clear she didn't mean what she said. When our waitress arrived, she wanted to explain what the daily specials were, but before she began, we politely asked if we could move to another section of the patio so we could sit in the sun. After speaking with the host, she returned with what I can only describe as a smart-ass attitude, saying, "Those tables are for people who actually have reservations." We completely understood if those tables were reserved, but there was absolutely no reason for the condescending attitude. Instead, we were moved to another corner table, and after the host decided to tell us "enjoy" with the same condescending tone. Once we sat down, I asked the waitress if she could explain the daily specials, but then she quickly replied, "now that we're at a different table, the other waitress/waiter will have to do that" since it wasn't her "zone". As we sat there, we couldn't help but notice what appeared to be a noticeable difference in how other guests were treated. The tables that gave off what I would describe as a more "upper class" appearance, well-dressed white guests who appeared more affluent, seemed to receive a warmer welcome and far more attentive service. Whether that was intentional or not, we couldn't shake the feeling that we were viewed differently. I'm white myself, but perhaps my tattoos or the fact that I was dining with my Brazilian wife caused us to be perceived differently. I honestly don't know. What I do know is that we left feeling like we didn't fit the restaurant's idea of its preferred clientele. For example, our waitress never offered us the option of tap or bottled water, while nearby "upper class" tables were given that choice. Around 6:10 p.m., we ordered appetizers, which took roughly 20 minutes to arrive, while tables seated after us were already receiving their food. We then placed our entrée orders and waited... and waited... and waited. In addition, we found a hair in the salad that we ordered, and when we brought it up to the waitress, her only answer was "that's impossible, everyone in the kitchen wears hairnets... At approximately 6:40 p.m., the hostess came to our table and explained there had been a "mix-up" because we had switched tables, causing our entrée order to be delayed. That explanation made very little sense. How does simply switching tables result in an order being delayed by that much? It pointed to a serious lack of communication between the front of the house and the kitchen. By approximately 6:50 p.m., I believe a manager came to our table and asked if there was anything he could do. At that point, I bluntly asked for the check because waiting well over an hour for our food was simply unacceptable. Ironically, our entrées finally arrived around 7:00 p.m., but by then we had completely lost our appetite. I sent the food back and again requested the check. Even then, it still took another 10 minutes to receive it. To the hostess's credit, she apologized, and I told her I appreciated the apology. However, I also explained that this restaurant clearly has a major communication problem. More importantly, the dismissive attitude we experienced from the moment we walked in set the tone for the entire evening and left us feeling unwelcome. In a nutshell: We waited an hour and a half for our food we never received, we were mistreated, felt discriminated, and there were still PLENTY of open tables in the patio facing the sun. This was our first visit to Narragansett, and unfortunately it was not the welcome we expected. I didn't even bother asking if the restaurant offered a military discount because, by that point, I already felt like we didn't belong. We will NEVER return.
