I had a date night at Aged with my boyfriend on a Friday night. I'm giving 5 stars to this amazing restaurant in the heart of Forest Hills. First of all the service is on point that makes you feel comfortable and happy. Servers are professional and nice. Beautiful music together with quiet atmosphere is perfect for date night, family dinner, friends' night out etc. And here comes the food and it is delicious! We ordered different steaks, different soups, appetizers and it was heaven! We enjoyed food and this welcoming restaurant. Also they have a special pre-fix dinner from Sunday to Thursday for 36$. When you hit the 3 stars on yelp, it says the place is "A-OK". And honestly, that's what i would say about Aged. We went for brunch on a Saturday, good crowd... i really liked the decor here. Not to mention, unlimited Champagne is always a YES. Service was good, nice and quick and attentive. We ordered: Monte Cristo- a touch dry..... since they forgot the yogurt dipping sauce, however once I got the sauce it wasn't very tasty. The sandwich itself was tasty, and the fries were nice and crispy. Eggs Benedict- not my thing, but my date said it was very tasty. Also with a nice side of potatoes that were really good! Came here for Sunday brunch on a full stomach and was hesitant to order their Steak and Eggs since I was so full, but the steak was surprisingly tender and flavorful that I finished the entire steak, and ate all four eggs they gave me on the side. The home fries tasted like hotel breakfast home fries, soggy and orange. But this place gives you a free cocktail (mimosa or bloody mary) AND coffee and tea with your brunch entree. I love this quite place. I usually come here with my girls and family. With girls, we order escargot and Monday oysters. Also spinach salad with raspberry dressing is delicious. I love their bread also especially whole wheat bum with raisins (and I think nuts). Steaks are very good and fresh. Also, if you want meat, they have a meat special which is $50-60 dol. (I don't remember the price). There is lamb chops(3 I guess) and 3 types of steaks which is very delicious and enough for 3-4 persons. Cocktails are ok. I love flirting and Cosmo but they have a full bar if you a heavy drinker ;) if you decided to have a steak, they have a delicious mushrooms, garlic mashed potatoes and spinach. Salmon was ok. Not as good as meat. Ok. Let's talk about deserts. I love chocolate lava (round hot brownie with vanilla ice cream on top) and creme brûlée. You can find my creme brûlée picture here as well. They are very delicious and always fresh. Tips: try white sangria. We order a pitcher which is enough for 2 girls to be more that tipsy. Try creme brûlée and meat specials. I made a visit to Aged last October. Aged has a very unique and nice atmosphere. It is a relatively dim restaurant. Aged has a full bar and a pretty good selection of alcohol. The food was decent. The food was not the best I've ever had. Because Aged is relatively "pricey," I was expecting more from the food. As far as customer service is concerned, the waiter was not the most attentive. The manager/supervisor whom was there the night I went, was attentive. It appeared as if I was getting more attention from the manager than the waiter who was assigned to my table. Aged is good for a romantic date, but not the best for a romantic date. If you are an individual who is easily satisfied when it comes to the taste of your food, then I would recommend it. If you are looking for something more creative and/or flavorful, I would suggest trying elsewhere. read more

I repeat I seriously have no idea why this place has been rated on Yelp so low, I have yet to go there and have terrible service or terrible food. the environment is always comfortable even when it's completely packed and busy I feel this business is unfairly rated on Yelp, and this is coming from someone who has no problem giving somewhere a low rating... I feel if you're going to rate somewhere do so in honesty and truth the service, the food and every waiter or waitress that I've ever had is always kind, polite and efficient. This is the reason why I come here over and over again. It's the Bobby Flay version of pancakes in Forest Hills. Real vanilla in the pancakes, whipped cream and syrup = heaven. #swoon I can LITERALLY lick the plate clean. - Chocolate French Toast: a close second bc of the berries, but the cream isn't vanilla flavored like the one that comes with the pancakes. - Malted Waffles: really tasty, but nothing compares to the vanilla pancakes LOCATION: In warm months you can sit outside, otherwise you are confined to sitting side by side with strangers inside the restaurant. I use to stick up for you guys man, with your good brunches and nice bellinis, but I was heart broken when I felt that cramp in my stomach. You know when it's a regular stomach ache and you know when it's like...damn this is bad. I hadn't felt that feeling in years. I was sick for two days, fever and all. My advice is be careful here. I came here with my friends this past wkd for brunch around 11am. It wasn't crowded so we were seated right away. Entree and coffee/tea is about $18.95. I got the organic egg omelette with mozzarella cheese. Our server was really attentive. Even though the environment was very comfortable, I wasn't impressed with its brunch menu. OK, nothing big but the entree comes (my wife ordered a rib eye and backed potato). They bring out a baked potato and walk away. When asked where the rib eye was the waiter looked confused. Did he honestly think she ordered just a baked potato? Then he takes my plate to keep it warm. Sorry, not coming back. While the rib eye was good (eventually) the baked potato was terrible. I had the lobster pasta which was a few lumps of lobster and was just OK. We were then asked if we wanted desert to which we said no. The waiter brings out a big slice of chocolate cake. Lets be honest. I came to this place last saturday for my brothers birthday brunch. The ambiance of the room was up to par and the food was okay. My problem with this restaurant is the waiters. Our waiter was very nice and took all of our orders. Then, after coffee, she was no where to be found. I was awkwardly raising my hand and looking around aimlessly for 10 minutes until this annoyed different waiter comes to our table. And demands I.D as if she was a cop and with a rude attitude, she had a dirty blonde hair, "I need to see your I.D" like I am a minor trying to drink champagne. Hahaha it was chuckle until I made her go get me that champagne. I go to eat out a lot and not once have I ever been in a rude environment such as this. I prefer friendly waitress instead of a rude tough one from NY. Please leave your stinking attitude at home. My family thought I was being rude. Just wait till they see other reviews on yelp stating the same thing. I don't want to say all waiters are horrible but they are just clueless maybe because of the management there is very relaxed. Oh and let me tell you where the waiters are, they are either hiding behind the register or being rude to customers that pay their bill. :P From my experience, I would never ever come to this restaurant and I recommend every one to stay very far far away if you want a nice friendly food experience. I tried it on a weekday evening and they were doing promotion. The steak is pretty good and it was perfectly cooked to medium rare. For a $16 tuna tartar, the portion ran a bit small, but it definitely tasted good. I also like the atmosphere. With less than $70, we had 2 appetizers, two main courses, one alcohol and two desserts. I come here every Sunday for brunch for about a month. I have the same reservation time which is 2:15. My husband and I love the food but the negative part about this place is the CUSTOMER SERVICE. We are both in the service industry and we know exactly what to expect. First of all we check in with the same hostess she doesn't recognize us. Then we sit. The waiter in one occasion forgot my daughters breakfast. It's waffles. That should be the first plate out. Then they serve the waffle by then we are both done and we are waiting for her syrup. How can you serve the waffles without syrup. We went again this past Sunday. The same thing. The hostess sets us and then we get served. My husband had an accident and NO ONE CAME TO HELP. I have to wave people down to help but. When they pass by they don't pick up the mess. I have to say can you please pick up. It just feels like the CUSTOMER SERVICE is not as important in this place. I decided to give the owner the benefit of the doubt and when I wrote a review on OpenTable just to him. He didn't even reach out. That's just another sign of how they really don't care. How I wish I applied that rule to my experience at Aged ... a steakhouse, after all. I unfortunately ordered the jambalaya (obviously, I'm still mourning the lost of Mardi Gras on Austin St) which basically was a chicken, sausage and shrimp dish in tomato soup over white rice for $22. As you can probably tell, I was a little remorseful over my meal option. I was fortunate enough to have dined with people that did go by the "when in Rome" rule and ordered steaks. I was even more fortunate that I dined with people that shared, resulting in a privileged bite of the filet mignon from my bff. Not fond of my experience at this establishment. We sat down and I feel like we were rushed to order. I got a French onion soup and a Cesar salad. Soup was great but the salad was not at all what a Cesar salad should be so it had to be sent back. The prices are outrageous for what was being served. Took them about 15 minutes to bring our drinks to the table. And we had to request bread for the table which should automatically be put on the table. The food was ok here. The first time I came I got a shellfish platter that was awesomely cheap and very delicious. I also had the braised beef with wasabi mashed potatoes which was delicious. The last time I ate here the service was pretty slow. The restaurant is very dark, if you eat there during daylight it is a little disturbing how dark it is. BRUNCH REVIEW: One of my gfs live down the block from Aged, so it's uber convenient. Service was attentive and pleasant. Pretty decor indoors and they also have outdoor dining. You look into the parking lot when dining alfresco, but the street gets a pretty busy walking traffic so people watching is a plus on a sunny day. We had the Monte Cristo and the Mixed Salad. Food wasn't great, but does the job. Bellini was yummy, although it's pretty hard to mess that one up. read more

I had the seafood ravioli, which had lobster, shrimp and crab. It was ok, I felt they needed more seafood filling. My friend had the salmon. It was a long piece of salmon served on a bed of spinach. She didn't care for the ginger glaze, but the salmon was cooked to perfection. For desert we both had the pomegranite sorbet, which was nothing special. I felt the LS deal was overpriced because Aged does offer a daily lunch special that includes soup/salad, and entree and coffee/tea for $10.95, which was way less than I paid. Boyfriend and I did takeout yesterday. We kind of knew not to expect greatness from the reviews but we said "what the hell" and gave it a try anyways. We ordered the Porterhouse, medium rare, Mac and cheese and hash browns. The steak was mediocre, at best... Seemed to be cooked more than my liking but that may be from it sitting in a aluminum delivery tin. The "hash browns" we're cut up potatoes with some sort of "seasoning". I can't tell you what kind of seasoning because it was bland... Did they even try to use any salt? Pepper? Anything??? The Mac and cheese was so bad I could have cried. I LOVE Mac and cheese... Even Kraft orange from the box powder Mac and cheese. Kraft orange from the box powder Mac and cheese would have been better than this. The cheese sauce was over cooked... As the cheese had that stringy hard bits throughout.... And the sauce was watery, very bland and tasteless. Kind of like velveeta cheese but with a bucket of water added to it. I have wanted to eat at Aged since it opened. I am a big fan of austin street and this place always caught my eye. After reading some yelp reviews, I was hesitant to try it. BUT, Im glad I did ! I had the Filet mignon- deish ! Garlic mashed potatoes, so so good. Wine, good of corse. lol I think this place is a nice little addition to the restaurants on/near austin street. This Thanksgiving, I skipped the traditional Turkey for crunchy tuna, sea bass and fra diavlo. What a perfect date place. I fell instantly in love with the warm, cozy, romantic interior. It's one of those places that makes you want to sit and talk for hours over wine and bite. Everything was cooked to perfection. The tuna had a perfect sear. I had the fra diavlo which was a mix of clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari over pasta. The sauce was light but my pasta was just a bit overcooked. I was so in love with their jumbo lump crab cake that I told my boyfriend I was having an affair with it and leaving him for it. He was half-offended and took a bite of it, and said, "Forget that, I'm leaving YOU for this crab cake." The hanger steak is quite delicious and cooked beautifully. I got the steak and eggs platter for brunch and it was absolutely delicious and kept me full for three hours.
