I chose Reef for us to celebrate my Dad's bday on a Saturday and the food was delicious as usual, so No complaints there! We all enjoyed our meals! However, service could've been better. Our waiter (older baldheaded guy) was very blah and provided lackluster service. He barely checked on us and when he took our orders he appeared a bit impatient. His responses to questions about menu items were very short and snippy. I don't think he wanted to be at work that day! His demeanor sucked. However, the bus girl (lady) ended up waiting on us and was a gem, thankfully. She brought my Dad's dessert out and sang happy bday with a smile..Just Awesome! :-)

Great food, friendly service, and a cozy vibe. My all-time favorites are the ceviche, the trio dips, and the spaghetti and meatballs. I also love their lamb chops and seafood dishes. Their espresso martinis are delicious, and the happy hour menu is a nice bonus. 5/5!

Was in the neighborhood craving oysters and decided to sit at the bar for a relaxed evening of drinks and oysters and more. Aldo, the bar manager was very friendly, attentive and entertained my friend in conversion on cocktails (making). Been here several times both brunch and dinner, it never disappoints. If you're in the area looking for a bar or fresh seafood Reef is a great choice.

I've been to Reef Restaurant twice now, and both times were a great experience. The food is absolutely delicious, the service is excellent, and the ambiance and music really add to the vibe. I had the octopus, which was good, but it could've been a little better--it was slightly rubbery and lacked that perfect char with a crisp outside and tender inside. Still, the rest of the meal was spot on. I had the ribeye, which was fantastic, and the drinks were also great. I'd definitely go back.

This place is a stellar find for some fresh seafood and steaks. Service was amazing and food was out of this world. The ambiance is classy seafood restaurant but casual feel. The food was so fresh and delicious. Mom and I really enjoyed ourselves indulging in quite a bit of the menu and even having a glass of wine. Arugula salad was crisp and refreshing with the apples adding a nice sweetness to the bitter arugula and the crunch of the candied walnuts was a perfect bite every time. Oysters were perfectly shucked and plenty of choices with the toppings. The grilled octopus was probably the favorite here as every bite was tender and screamed freshness. For the mains we got the grilled sea bass and the sea scallops. Both were perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. We paired the meal with some Pinot Grigio from Italy and the combination left me in the clouds. Plenty of vegetables on the side dishes and followed up with the melt chocolate lava cake and vanilla ice cream. Prices were a bit high but totally worth it, service was outstanding. Highly recommend checking it out, parking is metered but public transportation is available very close by.

Nice for brunch! Shrimp omelette was delicious with perfectly cooked shrimp and the mozzarella was not over the top as they tend to be in omelettes. Lovely friendly staff and environment with all the greenery made you feel like you were in a sanctuary in the middle of what tends to be a bustling Austin street. Was glad they had a number of brunch entree options for under $25 as well (a sad rarity these days in this neighborhood). Also super toddler friendly - our 2 yr old loved it just as much as we did! Would come again and would love to try dinner next time indoors!

I've been dining at this Mediterranean restaurant, Reef, for years. Brunch is always great and dinner is good too... tonight was one exception. I came with some girlfriends and started with a lychee lemon drop martini, and we shared ceviche and grilled octopus- really good. For my entry I had filet of sole stuffed w/ crabmeat and roasted veggies. Dessert was Nutella cheesecake - how can you go wrong? The decor is always nice and modern and the service was as bit slow at first, but picked up in the end. Overall a good experience, as usual.

Nothing can beat a good food, nice service and beautiful place. Have our anniversary every year here, the food always on point. The service is always great. The best NY dry-aged steak in town. Chef's kiss You will always comeback for the food since its so amazing. Treat yourself a good meal. Tried all the food, everything i chose were on point. Lobster ravioli, seafood pasta, linguine white clams sauce not to mention the bronzino. Baked Feta cheese appetizer, stuffed baked clams were our choice that day for starters. I am not a fan of salad, but i tried their cesar salad. Oh la la.. again chef's kiss!! Will always comeback for more to try

A Forest Hills gem! It's such a lovely establishment - quite romantic. Been here for dinner and brunch. Service 9/10 Ambiance 10/10 Order: New England clam chowder, grilled octopus, baked feta, crab meat pasta, seafood risotto New England clam chowder: comforting is the best way to describe this. It was delicious and the portion was generous! We expected a small cup. 10/10 Grilled octopus: It's hard to mess this up. And I got two tentacles instead of one? 10/10 Baked feta: Reminded me of a savory toaster strudel - the honey was a nice touch. 9/10 Seafood risotto: Really needed some salt... 7/10 Crab pasta: the white wine sauce? Phenomenal. Drooling thinking about the leftovers in my fridge at this moment. 10/10

Scrumptious and divine food. The taste was excellent and what I look for in a great meal. 10/10 recommend. Also, the desserts top tier.

An adorable coffee from Reef - their waiters are artistes!

It had an oddly fishy taste when it should've been rich and buttery. It also lacked proper seasoning, so we ended up sending it back. For the entree, we ordered the dry aged porterhouse, priced at nearly $200. We asked for medium, but it came out well done, which was a letdown. The chimichurri didn't taste authentic, and while the signature steak sauce was fine, it wasn't anything memorable. We also ordered a side of bacon, which was decent but I've had better. The chili prawn noodles were another miss. It came with only four shrimp, wasn't spicy at all, and used spaghetti noodles, which felt off for the dish. The only real highlights were the creamed spinach and shishito peppers. Those were solid and you just can't go wrong with it. At best, I'd recommend coming here for the cocktails and the view. The food alone doesn't justify it. I added an extra star strictly because of the service. Shirley was excellent. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and gave great wine recommendations. Very accommodating and genuinely pleasant, which made the experience better overall.

The buffet table was smaller than at the TS location and there seemed to be less choices. But the thing we were most disappointed about was the inconsistency with service - we kept waiting for the meat to come to our table but we kept seeing the servers going to other tables (on the outsides, and we were in the middle part of the dining area), then leaving and therefore skipping us. It was not just one server but multiple servers, they clearly have a problem with making sure all tables get the same service or number of stops. We eventually had to flag down someone to ask to be served. The meat served was also mostly the cheaper cuts, even though it's a holiday and everyone in our party was playing full charcuterie experience price. We were all disappointed with the quality of the meat. I'll still go to Fogo but I'll not be coming back to this location for sure.

Our waiter was friendly, attentive throughout the meal, and knew both the menu and specials inside and out. We started with the grilled octopus, house dips, and a thick-cut slice of bacon. The octopus was tender with a nice char, while the bacon delivered exactly what you'd expect from a steakhouse appetizer--simple, rich, and satisfying. For the main course, we shared a Porterhouse for Three and a ribeye, accompanied by mushroom risotto, garlic mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach. The steaks were the highlight of the evening. Both had an outstanding crust while remaining perfectly cooked inside. The porterhouse in particular showcased why dry-aged beef has such a following. The mushroom risotto paired especially well with the ribeye, while the garlic mash and creamed spinach were classic steakhouse sides executed well. I also tried a Negroni before dinner, which proved to be a great choice and complemented the appetizers nicely. The dining room strikes a balance between upscale and comfortable, with an old-school steakhouse feel that lets the food and service take center stage. Great for a special occasion--we were celebrating both Father's Day and a birthday, and the experience felt worthy of the occasion. Christo's is not an inexpensive night out, but for excellent steaks, polished service, and an experience that feels special without being pretentious, it's money well spent.

We kicked things off with three bottles of Malbec, which was excellent and easily the highlight of the first round. The appetizers--Caesar and Baby Arugula salads, Fried Calamari, Lamb Cigars, and a half dozen each of oysters and clams--were just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. For mains, we went all in with Christo's Signature Porterhouse for 3 (63oz/$185), Charbroiled Salmon, Baby Lamb special, and a Sea Bass special. The steak was cooked well and had solid flavor--definitely the standout among the entrees. The seafood dishes were fine, but again, not particularly exceptional. We finished the night with a selection of desserts, which were nice but didn't quite redeem the meal. Service was courteous, and the ambiance definitely leans upscale and festive, but for the price point, the food was hit-or-miss. Overall, it was a decent experience, but not quite the wow factor we were hoping for on a holiday night.

We happened to be nearby for a Doctor's appointment and passed here on the way there. When we arrived to the Doctor's office we called for a reservation and were offered 545pm for two(a rare & spontaneous date night). We left the Doctor's office and arrived to P.L. around 520pm. Friendly valet took our car and we entered. We were checked-in and advised to wait in the lounge area where the bar is. Not 5 minutes later we were seated. We received fresh bread(albeit cold not warm) and butter. We were promptly greeted by server Frank, who is very knowledgeable and assisted us with our selections. We decided on the wedge salad, one rib steak, and the crab cake(1) appetizer option, with mushrooms as a side. As our food arrived other tables started to join us in the side room with beautiful stained glass windows. The salad was very fresh and delicious. The crab cake was amazing, just pure crab, not lots of breading as filler. AMAZING!!!! A MUST-TRY!!!! We ordered the steak medium and it arrived perfectly pink in the center and hot off a hot plate with sizzling butter. CHEFS KISS!!! The mushrooms were whole and flavorful. Frank visited our table after each course to see if everything was fine and if we needed anything. Only experienced, tenured servers do this and even as he gained more tables to service he remained close by and available. I love that!!!! My husband wanted coffee so we ordered the apple strudel at Frank's recommendation and I'm so glad we did. It tasted like an old school recipe, maybe from the 1800's (one can hope&dream). It was accompanied by their famous SCHLAG which was divine!!!! If you're on a diet don't let anyone order it at your table because trust me, it'll entrance you, and you'll fold like a stack of cards. It's that amazing!!! Overall I'd give 6 stars if I could. Great place for celebrations like graduations or birthdays but also are welcomed just for a nice date night to enjoy their food and time with your spouse. I understand it was a busy Valentine's Day weekend, but I expected a proper greeting rather than just being asked about tap water. When she brought the water, she asked if it was our first time. We said yes, expecting a brief explanation of the restaurant's concept. Instead, she just said, 'Technically, the meats will come to you, and you can go to the market and get anything you want. That's our special for tonight, you can go ahead and head over to the marketplace.' We went to the 'marketplace,' and it was delicious! We tried several items, and everything was tasty and fresh. Salads. Cold cuts. Rice. Beans. Zero complaints there. Back at the table, the gauchos began bringing the meats--filet mignon, picanha, sausage, bacon-wrapped steak, chicken, and lamb. Everything was cooked to perfection. The service, however, stayed subpar. My mango caipirinha arrived five minutes later, but my husband's Coke never showed up. We waited all dinner for it and never received it. Our waitress only came back once because we flagged her down for water, and then again for the check. Even the tables around us were wondering where she was. This was extremely disappointing!!! Zero smiles or a nice tone from Her. The food was delicious (5 stars), but the service she provided was definitely 0 stars. I want to come back for the food, but the service is making me think twice.

I made sure to secure a reservation since I had a large group; 9 of us in total, to celebrate two birthdays. Expectations were high given its reputation as a classic steakhouse, but I had not been to this location before. I've always had a great experience in Manhattan. Overall, this was just a "mid" experience - reason being mainly the food. Our server was fine - he took our orders and successfully managed all of our drinks. However, he only checked on us twice and it took a bit of time to get his attention for the check. The other staffers that brought out our food, extra plates or silverware were attentive as needed. We definitely ordered a lot of food! However, each dish was underwhelming and not memorable. What would have been a nice dinner with family and friends, but the quality was just not there. To be honest, the favorite of the night besides the $130 bottle of wine (Chateau du Parc), was the appetizer - thick cut maple glazed bacon which they now serve on a clothesline instead of on a warm plate, a trend these days. And the other memorable dish was the organic mesclun salad. The tomatoes and goat cheese were really fresh, and the salad was not overly dressed. Noticed I didn't mention the steaks. Meh. Other appetizers we had: - Charred Spanish Octopus (a very busy dish, needed to be simpler)- Lobster Bisque with chunks of lobster meat, meatballs for the table, and baked clams (bread crumbs were good) For dinner/shared by all: - we ordered two orders of "Porterhouse for two" to share at each end of the table. It was cooked as ordered, medium rare but it was not well seasoned. And it was more rare then medium... Still good for leftovers but not how it should've been. - Prime Rib Chop (aka Fred Flintstone) which was a 35-day dry-aged long bone Tomahawk chop. It was quite the presentation but flavor profile totally a miss. I did wrap it to go to save the bone and to re-cook - Prime Filet Mignon - lightly seasoned and slightly over cooked - The Big Jack Burger, very decent burger and cooked perfectly as ordered. The fries were great - lightly salted and plenty of them. The sides were most disappointing this evening: -garlic mashed potatoes, see photo -creamed spinach, decent but not memorable -brussel sprouts with bacon bits, plenty of char We were disappointed in the overall taste and prep of the steaks.
