These are one of the places where you order a soft drink and the glass it comes in, seriously, seems to finish after 2 sips, and just a tiny glass filled up with ice. Okay, now... "aged".. one would only assume that their steak is phenomenal and to-die-for. Can I just say, it is FAR from. This actually is one of the worst steaks I had in my life. At my table, 3 of us ordered the "petite filet mignon" -- medium.. the consistency of all 3 of our "mediums" were not present. My friend and I had high hopes for this place. We really did. After all, from the outside it looked great and the place was packed out on a Saturday night. All good signs, right? Yeah...um, no. First of all, the lighting was dark. WAY dark. I know they were trying to go for ambiance, but there is a difference between ambiance and lighting that is sleep-inducing. It was hard staying awake in there. The waitstaff were either non-attentive or non-existent. We waited at least 20 minutes to get our sodas and 15 minutes after this to get our orders in. When we finally got our food, both of our orders were wrong. My cow was still mooing when I wanted him to be dead and my friend got the wrong cut of meat. They did correct it, however, I got a brand-new T-Bone steak instead of skirt steak. Guess they wanted to save the cow after all....heh. The only saving grace was the food - once we did start eating, it was tasty (especially my friend's Cauliflower dish). And, while we didn't get desert, the presentations we saw at other tables were beautiful. Then again, maybe if the wait staff came to our table more than once or twice throughout the whole time we were there, we would have gotten something to go. I can't speak for the drink selection because we both chose soda. All in all, our visit to Aged was an Epic Fail. I wouldn't go back. Went here last night with a friend as a belated birthday dinner for him. We planned to go to 5 Boro Cafe but it was packed and we didn't want to wait. I really wish we would have gone somewhere else. The staff were nice, but the service was horrible. They all seemed like this was their very first day on the job as waitstaff. Ever. They juggled our dishes every time they came to refill our waters or bring out something new, including placing our dirty dishes on the clean table beside us, and they didn't clean that table before seating someone there. The manager kept playing with the lights, leaving us unable to see our food one minute and blinded the next. The french onion soup had great flavor but not nearly enough cheese (the soup was not covered) and was way over priced. I had the marinated strip steak, which was cooked beautifully (to the eye) but was complete gristle and not seasoned. It was served with a sub-par (and not in the good way) chimichurri sauce. The veggies were good and cooked tender-crisp. My friend's salmon was good. For two people, no alcohol, and one of us eating from the Price Fixe menu, the cost was $125 including tax and tip. Waaaaay too much for the poor service and mediocre food. I would never eat here again. read more

Talk about a horrible eating experience! This place is WAY over priced! Service and food are horrible. Do not waste your money going there. You will have a better dining experience at any other restaurant for a fraction of the cost. The food is not fresh, you have to beg for bread. And one trick management does to have you order bottled water is to ask you when you are seated if you would like "TAP" water or bottled? I've never heard of this. Been to this place twice and it disappointed both times. They don't really seem to understand how to run a restaurant. First, we walk in through the back door because the front one is locked. Their reasoning is they don't want patrons at the bar to be cold. I understand the logic behind that but they chose a poor solution that sets a bad tone for the restaurant. Second, we sit at the bar and ask the bartender what he recommends for wine. I don't want to really get down on him because he seems like a good kid but he has very little clue what he is doing. The first recommendation is the $100 bottle of wine (second highest). I'm sure that bottle is good but I'm not looking to pay that. I ultimately decide on a different bottle. I will give them that their markup on wine seems to be on-par with most places: 1.5x Third, the food was sub-par at best. The caesar salad was bland. Not sure how you mess up caesar dressing but they did. The steaks were either frozen before cooking, poor quality or both. My money is on both. Overall the experience was underwhelming. The food was sub-par but the prices were expensive. I have no problem spending $35 for a steak but I'm expecting some quality here. I will not come back to this place. read more

The calamari tasted like rubber because the batter could not stay on the cold calamari. I ordered a skirt steak. It was super thick and tasted like rubber as well. As far as brunch places in Queens go, this place is actually pretty good. I actually liked the customer service they had: not hovering but there if you need anything. The brunch food was actually pretty good. I wound up getting steak and eggs and I would recommend it to anyone. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The waitress kept the champagne flowing. Aged is a restaurant that has everything going for it, great location, great decor, great staff, great drinks and amazing management. However the one thing it needs to work on is its food. I ate there yesterday, and like many ordered the 3 course meal, the bread was served with frozen butter, again frozen butter. Our drinks were very late and came 20mins after our appetizers and 5mins after the couple who came in late next to us got their drinks. After the wait though, the drinks tasted amazing. The clam chowder was creamy and tasty so I was excited for the rest of my meal. Then I tried the avocado lobster appetizer which had a sour taste to it, it reminded me of fermenting lobster that been in a can too long. I lost my appetite right after eating it, that's how bad it was. After bringing it to the attention of the manager his chef tried it and found nothing wrong with it but he still took it off my bill which i found was a good gesture, and he even made us a round of his own custom drinks as a apology. My girlfriend ordered the salmon and while it looked nice, she found it overcooked when she dove into it. When the steak and potatoes arrived it was picture perfectly presented and cooked exactly as a steak should be, but I was already ill from the lobster so it all tasted bland and disappointing for a steakhouse. Overall I would recommend Aged for its drinks, decor and amazing staff, however if food is what are you looking for, you are better off looking elsewhere. read more

This place is awesome. Had the porterhouse for two with long beans and creamed potatoes. Fantastic piece of meat. The wait staff was very cool about bringing all the sauces for us to try. For the price I paid, I expected something more. This restauarnt is called 'aged' so I automatically assumed their specialty is steak... and steak. Hanger Steak - I ordered the Hanger Steak, medium rare and boy, it was TOUGH! Holy cow, I was chewing rubber. My steak knife was either really dull or the steak was super tough cuz My arm was putting in extra work sawing into the steaking. Flavor was very bland as well. Usually, a good piece of steak doesn't need all the additional seasoning and extra work... just some salt and pepper would do the trick. However, this steak was bland and i had to dip it in the overly-oil chimichurri sauce. I only finished half of it. My husband usually finishes off what i can't finish but he didn't even want to have a another bite! aged Burger - My husband ordered the Burger... wasn't anything special. He was able to finish it. 1 star goes to that. Creme Brulee - this was recommended by the server - their House Special- 'to die for'. Yeah, definitely felt like my veins where gonna burst from the lethal shot of sugar I injected into my blood stream. The creme brulee came in... warm, cold amd OVERLY SWEET. The top of the dessert was warm from the sugar, and the brulee itself was cold. Even after I removed the sugar topping, the brulee itself was WAYY TOO SWEET. I thought they'd put more thought and detail to this. The creme brulee was free because of the yelp check-in (thank you, Yelp!) - so another star., All in all, wouldn't come back. A solid brunch spot. My girlfriend and I stumbled into (aged) at about 2:20 p.m. on a Saturday. We were both starving and looking for an off-the-beaten-path brunch. The first thing we noticed was the restaurant was only about one fifth full, which was a bit worrisome. We popped in nevertheless. We were greeted with a rustic decor, replete with attractive light fixtures and worn wood tables. The hostess seated us right away, and then waitress followed soon after. She told us the unlimited champagne would end at about 2:45, which was odd since the brunch went to 3:30 (lost a star for that). Everything was uphill from there. I ordered the (aged) burger, which came with an egg on top and steak fries on the side ($15.95 incl drinks). The burger was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and the egg was a nice over-easy. Overall, it was really tasty. My only complaint was the fries were the standard-issue frozen variety. My girlfriend got the steak and eggs. Oddly, by default, the steak was cooked to medium. She asked if they could make it medium-fare instead and they obliged. She said she enjoyed the steak (came medium-rare as ordered) and the eggs. The only odd thing was the "bistro potatoes" were kind of like tepid home fries. For $15.95 including unlimited drinks, it was a steal. I would recommend the brunch. read more

Great spot for Brunch in Queens. Bottomless Champagne for 2hrs are the best! Fun ambience, good for family and group of friends. Make sure to make a reservation and wait for a bit also limit on table it's 1hr and 1/2 but you can continue to drink at the bar which it's perfect, closer to the drinks! The manager can be a tiny bit rude BUT it's definitely cause of stress since the place gets packed, after having a talk with him my impression changed completely and I will be back with friends for sure. Food was good and the options on the menu seemed ok for a Brunch, they also sang HBD to me which it was fun. I've been to this place a couple of times and it's just OK to me. Service needs improvement. For example, our server didn't check in with us if we needed anything. My friend asked for water. The manager refilled it and refilled my husband's glass, but hello... what about me? My glass needed a refill too. I had the Shrimp Scampi. Nothing to brag about. I've had better. My husband is a steak lover and had the steak. He didn't find it all that great either. He remarked that this place is definitely not a premium place to eat steak. So overall, it serves its purpose. Since my last review, I've been to Aged a few times for lunch and twice for dinner. The food was consistent and the service was good. Unfortunately, my husband and I had a less than pleasant experience last night. Our server was excellent, very attentive and engaged us in small talk. Our experience started off on a sour note when we ordered our drinks. I believe my husband tried to get a vodka martini only to learn that the bar was out of Kettle One, Absolute, Grey Goose and Belvedeer. Given that the bar was apparently out of vodka (strange) he settled for scotch. I ordered the prixe-fix dinner with French onion soup (always excellent) the hanger steak (I've had this cut before at this restaurant and it was great--last night it was cooked perfectly, but quite a bit tougher than usual). My husband also had the French onion soup and short ribs appetizer (superb flavor--but cold when it arrived at the table). Although my meal came with dessert, we were asked if we wanted dessert after our entrees were finished, but we declined and chose to get our check and leave. This used to be one of our favorite spots but I feel like it's lost its luster--probably won't return. read more

Hands down the best dirty martini I have ever had. And, they got my steak right! Almost no one gets it right. The escargot wasn't much, the tuna tartar very tasty. But, definitely try the filet mignon!!!!!! My only problem was the waitress didn't seem to know anything about drinks when my date asked her a question and (and this is huge) no one asked if i wanted a second cup of coffee...they just came and took my cup away. I came in yesterday for brunch with a group of six. Not gonna lie, I mostly picked with this place because it actually takes reservations (-6 degrees in NYC is not the time to be waiting around with a group walking from restaurant to restaurant hoping for a table during prime brunch hours) and because brunch comes with an hour of unlimited champagne. I called on Friday, was told that brunch was $19.95 with the included champagne hour and made my reservation for the next day. Easy peasy. I got a call early on Saturday to confirm my res and was also informed that the price for brunch went up to $22.95 literally overnight. Luckily, the restaurant staff was incredibly kind and charged us the price I was quoted (which was very nice and definitely appreciated!) but that going forward for 2018 the price would be $22.95. So just a heads up for anyone interested. It seems like the price goes up every year? Unfortunately, despite the great staff this place is just okay. The restaurant itself is very nice and had a great cozy vibe on such a good day. The aforementioned champagne hour is a nice touch (and they are not skimpy on refills at all - they actually left a bottle on our table and refilled that as needed) but the food is very meh. First of all, all of our dishes came at different times. Mine came last and I got avocado toast with over easy eggs. The eggs were cold and avocado toast was just fine. It also came with a "salad" which was a hilariously small amount of greens, maybe just a spoonful. My boyfriend got the steak and eggs which again, were just alright. My friend got the chicken and waffles and it came with one waffle and small piece of grilled chicken. WHAT? By the time the food came we were already a little buzzed so it seemed more funny than disappointing but looking back it is a little weird. I really, really wanted to like this restaurant especially after the staff was so nice and easy to work with but chances are we won't be back unless we need another last minute brunch reservation. This restaurant is one of the best places to go to for excellent food, especially for brunch. The staff is very attentive and the cooks are excellent at what they do. The bartender Mariel, knows many different types of drinks and will make sure that you are satisfied with your drink. The manager walks around making sure your food is cooked to order. WORST BRUNCH EXPERIENCE EVER! I often go out for brunch in Forest Hills and decided it was time to try Aged. A friend and I met up, were seated immediately and ordered our drinks and food right away (since neither of us had eaten yet). We noticed a large party next to us of approx. 20 people so we knew that our food would be delayed however we had no idea that it would take OVER AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES FOR TWO BRUNCH DISHES! Our waitress did inform us that there would be a slight wait for our food however she was no where to be found once our wait time exceeded 35 minutes. I've worked as a waitress for 6 years and I understand that kitchens can get slammed because of large parties however there is no excuse for how my friend and I were treated, or rather should I say ignored. They could have offered us something to hold us over while we waited or they could have been completely honest about how long it would really take for our food to come out, but neither happened. We started to notice the other handful of tables around us all feeling the same way since no one seemed to have their food and they had all been seating before I even walked in. Finally our food came out and it would have been satisfactory had the runner given me my correct order, but he didn't. I had mistakenly been givenTraditional Eggs Benedict, when I had really ordered the Forest Hills Benny. I was so hungry that I didn't even bother trying to switch my meal not to mention that our waitress never came over to check on us. Out of sheer hunger I decided to eat the plate I had in front of me. After about 15 minutes of having our food my friend was able to flag down our waitress as I explained that this wasn't what I had ordered however I was still going to keep it. She didn't even apologize for her mistake and actually looked quite annoyed that we had stopped her. At the next table over an older woman and her mother who were seated before us only had one of their dishes delivered and had asked to speak to a manager. When the "manager" came over he gave them an attitude like I have never seen in my 6 years of serving. He made it seem like they were wrong when they were only asking about their missing meal. This made me the most upset, adding insult to injury. Another couple sitting across from us was seated about 25 minutes, was never greated and walked out once they saw how unprofessional the manager was. We didn't even bother to ask for the manager after we saw how poorly the women were treated and we simply asked for the check, paid our tab and left. There were so many ways that our experience could have been improved had any of the staff even bothered to care. One thing though is for sure, I will never, ever step foot in any Aged and will never recommend it to any of my friends and family! read more

Came here on a whim because the other restaurants were packed. Nice ambience. Impressed they stuck with the rustic "aged" theme for their decor. I always choose banquette seating if available when dining out. Was not a good choice this time. Their banquette cushion was one long stretch, joined from my end all the way to the other perhaps. I could only see 4 tables ahead that we were all "sharing the same seat". I was seated at the furthest corner with a large person 2 tables away. The seat cushion was not as secure as I thought because when that person moved, I almost slipped off the seat. I didn't bother to speak up because I liked the cozy corner I was in and the periodic bumps were tolerable. Service was excellent. The servers constantly asked how our food was with a smile. The one who took our order knew the menu well, especially important because I have a habit of asking for recommendations and how things are cooked before I order. Food however, was not as impressive as expected. Not bad, but average and not on par with their competition. We walked around Austin Street and checked out the menu and prices of almost all the restaurants around before deciding on aged. It was the priciest among all so we expected to be wowed. I usually take pictures of my food for reviews, but when his Hanger Steak and my Steak Cacciatore arrived, I felt the picture and the prices charged would not match. Presentation was rather pedestrian, for my Cacciatore at least. Taste was without the refinement I would have preferred, especially when their brand expressions boasts of aged refinement. My skirt steak was dry on the rims but tender enough on the inside. The tomato pasta was a good serving size with an interesting tangy spicy herb taste, but the light tomatoey texture did not keep me wanting for more. I passed half my dish over to him, which was not a good sign especially because I have a hearty appetite. His hanger steak was average. It did not taste aged. What I found strange was the steak sauce they served on the side tasted like A1 sauce straight from the bottle with no hint of au jus mixed in. Although the hanger steak was not a prime top dollar dish, I certainly was not expecting A1-like (maybe it was really just A1) sauce on the side in such an establishment. The reason why I have a second star was because the food was delicious and the service was great. This restaurant served us fast food portions and charged steak house prices. A total rip off. Pitcher of Sangria was over priced and full of ice cubes. I had an order of steak tips which consisted of 4 pcs for $13 and the entree was a pasta dish the size of a small bowl of soup. Do not go there on an empty stomach, you will be completely dissatisfied in appetite and you'll cringe to open your wallet. I recommend anyone to steer clear of this so-called "steak house". read more
