    Horiatiki salata (Greek salad)

Food, service and ambiance are totally superb !! Daphne - our hostess was amazing, as always !! I've been coming here for 10-15 years now. I brought a wonderful friend of mine and had paidakia (broiled lamb chops) served with french fries, horiatiki salata (Greek salad) and a bottle of wine !! What a magical experience !!

Pros -both indoor and outdoor seating with covered section - food: Octopus, lamb chops, vegetable meatballs , fish were DELICIOUS - always get the pita Cons -can be very popular, especially on the sunny weekends so be prepared to wait. Would 100% return and try other items

One day I was taking a stroll in Astoria Park and I met this older gentleman who raved about Agnanti. He was not wrong about it! I took the family to dinner Friday night and we absolutely loved the atmosphere and all our dishes. Not pictured the Sigar Bourek we ate those up! Prices were super reasonable and we will definitely be returning because yum.

Only got appetizers but it was so good. Food came out insanely fast. No cocktails but they do have wine. Tomatoes in the salad were exploding with juice. Insane. Fat chunks of feta. Lil cucumber. Yummmmm. The spanakopita was delicious, not super crunchy but perfectly savory w the things we got. Dips were very big so the $32 price tag was worth it. Place is pricey but good to share.

Agnanti is a hop, skip and a jump away from our home that we don't take advantage of going to nearly enough. Located right at the entrance of beautiful Astoria Park, it is a cozy little corner spot to enjoy delicious food and drink good wine amongst family and friends. We came on a cold, rainy Friday night at the beginning of service. Didn't want to take the chance of coming too late and not being able to get a seat or feeling too cramped if it was crowded. Right away we were seated (first ones there) and brought warm bread. We heard the specials, read the menu and since I had been craving this for weeks, already knew that I wanted everything in site. Lol For appetizer we split a small Greek salad and the Shrimp Kataifi. 4 shrimp wrapped in finely shredded phyllo bathed in a delicious mustard sauce. You cannot go wrong. So delicious and the tangy sauce hit every note on every taste bud. Highly recommend. I had the Pastichio special with lemon potatoes. Nice and creamy. Very filling. Lacked a bit of flavor. I wanted something bold and in your face. This dish didn't do it for me on this night. Good nonetheless. They both had the Chicken Tigania plate. For some reason, they didn't have pork. So they settled on chicken. Mainly because they brought out two chicken rather than telling the one who ordered pork that there wasn't any. Still, no complaints. The French fries were seasoned nicely and very lemony. The only gripe was the fries were a bit soggy. I'm guessing due to the lemon? Either way, still very delicious. Air fried the leftovers and crisped up the fries to perfection. We all got very full, very fast. Service was impeccable. Complimentary dessert of chocolate cookies and the most delicious crumbly halvah was yummy. Maybe even more yummy because it was free. So so good. Long story short, highly recommend. Food is like home cooked comfort and on a cold, rainy night, there is nothing better.

Have not been to Greece yet however felt like I was transported to Greece when we went to Agnati. The most authentic vibe and food. Great service on a busy Friday night, the servers explained the menu thoroughly. Started the dinner with bread and delicious olive oil. For starters we ordered Fava with pita and chicken croquettes which were unbelievable. The tzakiki was fresh and homemade. For mains we ordered mousakka, lamb with lemon sauce which was tender and fall off the bone with a side of lemon potatoes. We also ordered the red snapper with a side of rice. Servers were kind enough to take out 90 percent of the bones for easy eating. Dessert was complimentary and the cookies were to die for. Go to agnati for a real authentic Greek experience!

Agnanti is located near Astoria park. The place has a great interior and my partner and I got a seat fairly quick. The menu is not too long and not too short, they had amazing options to choose from. The service was also on par and we got our food in a timely manner!

We came on a Thursday at 7pm and there was about a 15min wait for the inside seating. The staff there are Greeks so you know that the good was going to be authentic! We ordered: Grilled Swordfish: Cooked super tender, melt in your mouth olive oil, with a bed of onions and peppers Grilled octopus: flavor not super distinct but was cooked in a tender way Baked saganaki cheese: This was flavorful and had some tomatoes to go with it Meatballs with tzatziki: I might have skipped this one as there was nothing to write home about Free dessert! The biscuit infused piece was DELISH. I wish I knew what it was I had a pleasant experience, loved the ambiance, and the food was great. Service was attentive and I left wanting to come back to try the restaurant!

It was pretty quiet inside, outside of the TV playing somewhat loud highlights from the World Cup on loop (why,) with the servers and staff being helpful and friendly. In comparison to the other pick-your-own seafood spots like AbuQir or Hamido, the spices are a tad lighter here, being almost closer to Astoria Seafood, minus the olive oil. I didn't mind, though, as the fish was all fresh and perfectly prepared. To drink, our table stuck with water, though there are a few mocktails and some sodas, including some Algerian ones. They put down some simple bread with a bit of garlic and herbs, which was refilled. For non-seafood dishes, we had a few. The first was the $8 Hmiss, or Hammis, a dip made with roasted pepper, tomato, and garlic sautéed in olive oil. The warm dish was earthy and garlicky, and went perfectly with the bread, with the flavor reminding me of a warmer version of some Turkish eggplant dips. There was also the Peasant Salad for $12, with cucumber, tomato, red onion, and Kalamata olives topped with feta, oregano, and dill. If you're familiar at all with Horiatiki/Village salad, it's basically the same thing, though with crumbled feta instead of a block, and it was refreshing and tasty. Finally, we eventually got an $8 side order of Basil Garlic Mashed Potatoes, which were decent. The first seafood to arrive at the table was the $16.99 Algerian Sardines, which consisted of sardines from Morocco with a spice mixture. The man in front recommended them fried, and the portion was nice, and the flavor was excellent. The fish was fried perfectly, with the bones fried enough that the entirety of it could be eaten. This was delicious, and one of the highlights of the meal. As we loved these sardines, we eventually got a small order of the other option, the "Marinated Sardines" from Spain. These were a bit more expensive by weight, being $10.56 for 0.48 pounds, but by comparison, these were much flatter and larger. The half pound consisted of three large pieces, which were broken down and divided among the group. While I slightly preferred the spices from the Algerian version, I liked the texture of these more, as they were more meaty. I don't think you can go wrong with either, as both were excellent. There was also one pound of Mussels for $17.99, which was available in one of two cooking preparations, Moules Marinière or a version with tomato sauce, herbs, and feta. I went with the latter, and they were excellent, with all of the mussels being open. The feta added a unique, slightly salty touch, with the broth being delicious. They had brought us out some extra bread, and we made good use of it. If I were here alone, I might have this along with some sardines and leave very happy. We also got two whole fish, which were both ordered grilled and butterflied. First was the Dorado, or Orata, for $29.24 for 1.54 pounds. As is typical for this fish, it was delicate and light, but had plenty of flavor. The other was the American Red Snapper, which was a bit more expensive at $37.90 for 1.58 pounds. By comparison, this fish was a lot thicker and therefore, a bit more flavorful. We enjoyed both, with a slight preference going towards the cheaper fish for most outside of me and one other. Another highlight was the Scallops for $37.23 for 0.98 pounds, which came out to 14 large pieces. As recommended, we got these sautéed, with the scallops coming in a delicious garlicky juice on the bottom with plenty of other herbs. The scallops were tender while staying plump, though I slightly preferred the more caramelized tops at AbuQir, with these having a more uniform texture. The rest of the people liked what I couldn't eat, the $24.99 Octopus for around half a pound. The octopus came out pre-cut, which made splitting it very easy. I can't comment much on the flavor or saltiness as some other reviewers brought up, or else I'd be in the hospital right now post-anaphylaxis, but people liked it a lot. If you don't want to bother with the lines or crowds at the other fish spots, I would highly recommend going here. The fish is fresh, perfectly prepared, and seasoned just enough to highlight the natural flavors. I would go back.

They do reservations but there were plenty of tables available on a Saturday afternoon. The service was ok; they could have been more attentive in refilling the water. The chairs were a little rickety and the bathroom door would not lock. Food was pretty good though. Complimentary bread is provided with free refills. The eggplant dip was good and garlicky. The fried calamari had a light breading and was delicious with the two dips (no marinara though). I wasn't fond of the grilled shrimp as the char made it slightly bitter. Sauteed might have been a better choice. The grilled branzino was light, delicious and slightly garlicky. The sauteed scallops were delicious and were my favorite. It was cooked perfectly tender with a delicious sauce. The rice was nicely flavored and a good side dish for the meal. I preferred this to Hamido's except for the grilled shrimp and bread. The seasoning is lighter than Hamido's (which can be overly salty) but I think it compliments the seafood better.

The list the prices up front, so that was somewhat awkward process?? I ask for octopus, scallops, smelts, and a red snapper . The octopus was the most expensive item, it was marked $45 a pound.. We were then sent to 2nd floor for seating. Since we needed a table for 2, we got a very small table near the stairs. The table was so small, we knew right away that it be an issue given the amount of food we ordered. Our waitress came by and we added grilled eggplant, lemon potatoes and the beat salad. The brought us a small basket of pita like bread, hot, fluffy and delicious. So we had all the appetizers but the food took 30 mins and from the looks, it dis not seemed busy. In my opinion, the side dishes should be brought out with main courses but i guess thats NOT what they do here. I recalled asking at the counter for light seasoning on the red snapper. When the fish came to the table, it had some type of breadcrumbs and oil or butter. Which in my opinion is not bad but i appreciate the unique texture and flavor red snapper has all on its own. The octopus was good but i never had it sliced looking like bacon strips. Tasty but different, scallops had a little paprika, cooled perfectly. The smelts were fried just perfectly, like good french fries. I assume this restaurant is a mix of middle-Mediterranean cooking style. Food was tasty, style of service was definitely different. I will come back and try the lunch specials during the week. As a side note, accessing the restrooms was very confusing, they have 2 restrooms, there was a line to get into the restrooms. Very clean bathrooms for sure.

Being honest, it's been a while since I have returned because I have favored Hamido Seafood lately, right after a previous love affair with Abuqir Seafood two doors down. Then there is the old reliable Astoria Seafood and the new kid on the block, Le Petite Pecheur, which I really enjoy as well. However, once again, Sabry's proves again that they have the best pitas in the business. A full basket comes with fluffy and chewy goodness that none of their competitors can match. I do wish their dips (babaganoush, humus, tahini) were better as I have mentioned, but they are all solid 7's. Onto the seafood. What an excellent version of Grilled Octopus (9/10), with maybe the best crispy char I have tasted in recent memory. I do wish the sauce had a touch of vinegar. Not a big deal. Another near perfect dish was their Grilled Sea Scallops (9/10). They were extra large, super tender, sitting in a pool of delicious tangy sauce (reminiscent of NoLa style BBQ shrimp sauce). The Grilled Shrimps (7/10) were slightly overcooked, while the Taojine Mixed (7/10) was somewhat watery and a bit too dill forward. Lastly, the broth of the Seafood Soup (7/10) was clean and light. The calamri and clams were still tender, but the shrimps were a tad overcooked once again. Clearly after this meal, I have to add Sabry's back into my rotation of pick your own seafood type of restaurants. This was the place where I had my first experience with Egyptian style seafood and it is still one of the best after all these years.

My favorite is the salad -- incredibly tasty, with very fresh vegetables. The bartenders deserve a special shoutout too: always friendly, smiling, and great vibes overall. Highly recommend to everyone. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to.

The whole vibe felt warm and made it a really nice family dinner. My grandma and mom both seemed happy and enjoyed everything, which honestly mattered most. We ordered two Greek salads (definitely could've gotten away with just one -- they're huge and very shareable). We also had the Mediterranean spreads: tzatziki, eggplant, and a spicy spread. Everything was solid and great for sharing. We also got grilled octopus as an appetizer -- super tender and really well done. For my main, I had the grilled deboned red snapper -- absolutely delicious. It came with a creamy lemon sauce on the side that you can pour over the fish, plus oregano fries and grilled vegetables. The veggies were amazing, especially the grilled onions that just melted in your mouth. We also ordered takeout: kefte kebab with fries, which was maybe smaller portion but it was good flavor. For dessert we had a baklava float (I think that was the name) with coffees to finish. Very happy with the whole meal overall. Drinks at the bar beforehand were also a highlight -- sangria and a gin, lavender, elderflower, cucumber cocktail that my grandma actually loved.

I'm so glad we did. It was wonderful. Some of the best greek food i've ever had. The service was lovely. Thank you to Daniel. My friends and I ordered a bunch of stuff on the menu and it was absolutely wonderful. There is also very delicious complementary dessert. It is a small restaurant so it's very tight. Everyone is kind of crushed together. The food is a bit on the expensive side but absolutely worth it. I can't wait to come back one day. Amazing experience with wonderful food and service!

If we wanted to get a table in the main dining room, the wait was estimated to be over 2 hours (we went around 8pm), so I highly recommend making a reservation if you plan to go. The staff were very quick with service and very friendly. We were offered toasty bread with some lemon and an olive spread while we waited for our food (which also came out super quick!). We ordered the octopus and lamb chops. The octopus was incredibly tender, the meat was very soft - I personally would've preferred a little more bite to it, but it still tasted good. The lamb chops were flavorful. The medium here is on par with medium rare at most other places, and one of our pieces was borderline rare. At the end of the meal we were also offered complementary desert, which was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed our meal overall, but just know that it's a little on the pricey. The octopus and lamb chops came out to $80~ pre-tax and tip. Would recommend if you're a fan of seafood!
