    Happy Hour Menu

Finally tried this place in my local neighborhood. I really needed to relax after a long day so I wanted a glass of wine. I opted for the moscato. When the glass came I was shocked at the very little amount of wine that was in my glass. For $14 you could at least fill it 1/2 way, I got less than 1/2 and was disappointed. I ordered the butter chicken, garlic naan and jasmine rice. All the food was amazing in taste and freshness. This place is clean, roomy , and staff were friendly. My only complaint was the wine pour, next time I'll get a margarita. Oh and everything is sold separately there is no combination plates. They also have a Happy Hour menu which is a plus!

Birthday Dinner Find Thanks to a Coworker This spot was actually recommended by a coworker and helped me decide where to celebrate my birthday after work with the group -- and overall I'm glad we gave it a try! First off, plenty of parking, which was a huge plus. Definitely drive around to the back because there are a lot more spaces there. The ambience was really nice and actually much more decorated than I expected inside. It felt warm and inviting, and made for a fun birthday dinner spot. Funny enough, when we first arrived, our party of 10 was literally the only group there... then slowly people started trickling in throughout the evening. It definitely never got packed though -- maybe because it was Cinco de Mayo and everyone was elsewhere chasing tacos and margaritas I ordered the Chicken Masala, and it was super flavorful -- rich, buttery, and especially delicious paired with the garlic naan. Definitely the highlight of my meal. I'd give it a solid 7.85/10. The portion was good and very satisfying. One thing that surprised me was that almost everything is ordered separately -- sides, rice, even sauces. At a lot of traditional Indian spots I've been to, basmati rice usually comes alongside the curry, so I thought it was interesting that here everything is an add-on. Not a dealbreaker, just something to know before ordering. My chicken masala was around $21. I also got my husband some lamb to-go and chose a 4/10 spice level, which he later confirmed was still pretty spicy... so definitely keep that in mind if you're spice-sensitive Service was friendly throughout the night, and everyone was welcoming. Overall, a nice spot to try if you're in the mood for Indian food with a cozy ambience. Not sure if I'd rush back immediately just yet, but I'm glad we checked it out for my birthday dinner. Happy eats!

    Flame kissed Tandoori chicken

I came here for dinner with my family from a recommendation from my neighbor and we walked in to a beautiful restaurant! The decor here is so beautiful from the gorgeous murals on the walls, to the cushy seats at the tables and the fun lighting. We were greeted immediately and since it was pretty empty, allowed to pick our seats anywhere in the restaurant. We perused the menu and decided to try: Flame Kissed Tandoori Chicken Chicken Tikka Burger Agnii Cream Chicken Elegant Butter Chicken Garlic Naan Keep in mind that this is a more upscale restaurant so the prices reflect that. I was aware of this when reading the reviews prior to coming here, but It was still a shock when I realized the quantity of food that we got. The thing I couldn't get over was $6 for one piece of naan and $5 for one bowl of rice. Yikes! Everything we ordered was very good - Very tasty and full of flavor. Unfortunately our tandoori chicken came to the table not fully cooked and still bloody in the middle. We were able to send it back to have them cook it some more but it took a while and we ended up having to leave so we took it home. I was dismayed to find that the restrooms of such a nice restaurant were so ignored. It is obvious that no one checks on it, which is surprising since there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. The first stall I went into had trash on the floor, no toilet paper, no seat covers. You know what they say, if the restrooms are neglected, it's usually a sign of how the kitchen is. The entire staff here is very nice but it's kind of hard to flag someone down if you need something. Not sure if I would come back here as the prices here are too much for me for everyday dining. I would say it's more appropriate for a special occasion or date night.

10/10!! I love this location. The food was just amazing. I have had multiple indian food restaurants and this is for sure my favorite. I love how you can modify the spiciness of the food. We got level 8 and it had a kick to it but could definitely handle a 10. The food was so flavorful and although the plates look small, it is more than enough!

Had a sudden urge to have some Indian food and found this place nearby through Yelp. Took a chance and boy was it a nice surprise. The moment we walked in the staff, I believe owners, were so kind. We took a look at the menu and just made choice at random and boy were we spot on with our choices. Every plate was tasty and flavorful. Don't forget about the naan soooo yummy. The drinks were okay to be honest but the food hit the spot and the craving was fulfilled. I recommend this place a try if in the area and if you enjoy colorful decor and comfort this is the spot.

This place has an extensive menu and the food is cooked to order so it's fresh and hot which means it takes time. But the food is amazingly good and the flavors are delicious. Our server was kind, helpful and friendly. Too many choices and it's nice they have a lunch menu that's available everyday. Nicely decorated with Indian themes and nice music in the background. We tried three palate pleasers which I consider appetizers so we could have a variety. Each was delicious and served with a spicy green sauce and a yogurt based sauce. Chicken was tender and the fish was nicely fried and not great. We liked the sliced radishes, micro greens and spiced onion slices. For dessert with enjoyed the gulab juman but without ice cream. Sweetened with honey and spices. Excellent. So glad we tried this place!

Agnii is my go-to spot for Indian food in Covina! The service is always great there, they are very attentive. You can tell the food is fresh, it always comes out hot and flavorful. Some of my family's favorite dishes include: butter chicken 5/5 pani puri (spiced water bombs) - these are super unique and definitely a must-try 5/5 vegetable samosas 4/5 ember fired-wings 4/5 crimson flamed shrimp 3/5 chili garlic naan 5/5 I would definitely recommend trying this newer addition to Downtown Covina for a lovely dinner out!

We were in the area and craving Indian food. This spot delivered on quality. The Garlic Naan and Cheese Naan were fantastic. I highly recommend the Cheese Naan! We ordered the "Classic" Butter Chicken and the sauce was great, possibly one of the best I've had. However, it seemed the chicken was cooked separately then added to the sauce, which didn't allow it to absorb the wonderful flavor. We also tried the Ember Fire Wings, which were flavorful but slightly over seasoned for my taste. Service was good and the vibe was "modern Indian chic." It makes for a great date night spot, though the music is a bit loud. Overall, worth coming in.

Great food, friendly service, decorations really cute clean fun atmosphere. We started with the samosas very tasty , then the garlic naan bread, the butter chicken with heart level of 7 but not spicy at all maybe next time just ask for 10 heat level white rice and karahi chicken lunch which it smaller plate and cubes with rice. Definitely a place to go back.

    James H.

Really cool decor and vibe. Came in for a late lunch but still in time for the lunch special. I ordered the curry chicken which was like chicken tiki masala. Had good flavor but portions were a touch small. Really good naan and they were generous with it. Hope to come again soon!

On Sunday evening, we were looking for somewhere still open after 8pm. With not many choices, we went to our Empty Nesters list and found that Agnii was just the place. Not too far and open Sunday night. As fans of Indian food, we were hopeful Agnii would be a good choice. Of course it wasn't busy when we got there, but since it's a holiday week, we weren't sure. There were a few other tables seated. Walking up, one thing to note was the brightness. We walked into the front and nearly left due to the atmosphere. It always surprises me when restaurants don't realize that fake bright lights are not pleasant for dinner. But, since we didn't have many choices at this time on Sunday, we figured we'd give it a try nonetheless. We sat in a back corner where it wasn't quite as bright. But, honestly, super not a fan of the lighting here. Way way too bright. Certainly takes away and although I'm going to give Agnii a 5, I wouldn't go back unless the lighting was changed. On to the service and food... both of which were fantastic. From our Veg Samosa appetizer, which was Gwen's fave part of the meal, to my Indian beer and Paneer dish, we loved all of it. The Butter Chicken was quite good. Not the best I've had but very solid. The Paneer was surprisingly my favorite. Full of spicy flavors, it was amazing to enjoy with the rice and with the naan. Also, our waitress was very friendly and attentive and helpful when we had questions about the menu. Maybe others like the lighting, I really don't. The shapes look cool but dim it. And if they don't dim, change it. My two cents but I'm guessing there are others like me. It kills the atmosphere of an otherwise fantastic experience.

Came here for lunch with the family. What a nice looking restaurant. Been to many Indian restaurants before, but this is by far, the most elegant looking Indian restaurant I've been to. The staffs here are so friendly and very welcoming. They answered any questions we had regarding the menu and drinks. They were very accommodating. We ordered the followings: - Luscious Paneer Tikka Masala - Delightful Goat Curry - Elegant Butter Chicken - Rustic Karahi Chicken - Mango Lassi - Gulab Jamun We all loved our dishes. The foods were so good and delicious. The Mango Lassi was very refreshing and yummy. The Gulab Jamun had the right amount of sweetness. It was warm and tasty. It was a great experience dinning here. The foods were great, and the ambiance is so nice and elegant. Highly recommend.

We came in on Monday, Memorial Day and I was nervous that they would be closed because when we came up to the door it was like pitched black with no signage but when I opened the door, they were open and inside looked so nice! Outside is so unassuming but inside definitely felt like a fancy place. It was a bit confusing once we're in because the staff also seemed confused that we were there? There wasn't many people in the restaurant aside from a table with 7(?) people celebrating a birthday but they sat us down anyways and walked away. I chose this place because I saw in their reviews they were able to accommodate no onion / no garlic due to my FIL's dietary needs. When I tried to ask they brushed me off thinking I was asking for the bathroom and just pointed to the corner. But I had to ask once more to confirm if they were able to be accommodate this request and the guy told me to wait for my waiter. No problem, we waited and our waiter came over and gave us menus and I asked that I saw at one point they offered a buffet but he said they no longer offered it. Okay no worries - I asked which dishes are they able to accommodate with the no onion / no garlic (Jain dishes) and he pointed out a couple. Okay not bad, quite a bit of options! But after looking at the prices (oof so steep) it was about $17/dish average. While we were browsing the menu he brought over some lentil chips and sauces that we can eat with the chips. Really tasty! The chips were pretty salty but the dip he provided (There's 2 dips, the green one has onion) made it like a sweet salty combo. I liked it! We got 4 different dishes, 2 orders or naan, and a side of rice. This came out to almost $80 - our wallets were crying but my FIL was here so we wanted to treat him. The food came! It didn't take to long for them to come out, we got their samosas, gobi matar (cauliflower with green peas), aloo gobi (cauliflower with potatoes), and vegetable kofta (Vegetable balls mixed in a thick masala sauce), 2 orders of naan, and an order of their plain rice. Everything was tasty - just what you expected Indian food to taste like. Nothing that really stood out but still good nonetheless. But the food came out in these small bowls. Like I just couldn't get over that they WANTED TO CHARGE $17/per small bowl?? Served family style?? I just can't. Everything was ala carte so there was no way to get a combo of things. I don't think we would come back just due to how pricy it was and for how little food you get... Service was good, decent. But sometimes you get the feeling that you're not wanted(?) At this point the restaurant was getting busy so we wrapped up, paid, and headed out. I don't think we'll be back just due to how pricy it got and how little food it was

We've been eating at Bhanu for 15 years. I can say with confidence that it's the best Indian food…read morein the area and it has the loveliest owners and staff. We particularly like the goat or lamb chaska masala. The meat is tender and the sauce is redolent of spice -not just heat but beautiful flavors of cumin, coriander and other spices. We also love the palak paneer and the dosas. Honestly you can't go wrong - we have never not liked a dish. The star of the show for us is the samosas though. They have many fillings on offer but I like the O.G veggie samosas best. As others have said, the restaurant is in a terrific Indian grocery store that is fun to explore and where one can get ingredients to cook at home, should one be inclined. Sorry that I did not take photos. Everything I'm describing has been photographed before and frankly we were too busy appreciating the great food to bother with photos. Highly recommend.
