Oh no... I was so misled. I saw their sign immediately as I walked into Haven City. The tri tip looked good, so I thought I'd save time by not having to wander around having trouble deciding what to eat for lunch. I ordered the Tip Me Over Plate with scrambled eggs. The picture said it is an order with tri tip, eggs, tomatoes, tater tots, and chimichurri. You could pay an extra $1 for egg whites only or $1 to get extra chimichurri. It was $23, which is one of the more expensive items on their whole menu. They texted me when the order was ready. I picked up the order and saw they gave me a fork and napkin as well. When I dug into the tri tip, it was so hard to eat. The slices were not cut in the similar thickness. Some were much thicker than others. They should have added more chimichurri because it was lacking flavor. My friends could see I was having a hard time eating. I was so embarrassed that I didn't offer them to try any. This "Take ur Seat Lite" location is located in the Haven City food hall in West Covina (right by the entrance). I've been to their other locations in Chino Hills and Ontario. I enjoyed their brunch at the restaurants location. The West Covina location has a limited menu but they still have some of the main food from the restaurant menu. Food: - Rendaaang Curry Bowl - It was meh, I wasn't a fan of it - TUSino Bowl - This was super delicious, full of flavor and tender. Location: haven city market in West Covina I have come here a few times now and you will notice that most places can be ordered through a self service monitor, but there are people there if you have questions. It is a different combination of American brunch and Filipino breakfast, but what got me was the sample plates of food sitting at the counter. The first plate was of garlic noodles and shrimp. I am always on the hunt for some good garlic noodles and this place did not disappoint. They add shrimp that are quite large, like prawn size, approximately 6 of them. I came by Haven City WC to have lunch with a buddy of mine. He had tried Take Ur Seat Lite at this location numerous times so we decided to dine here. They are located in the middle of main entrance. Since it's in Haven city, the foot traffic can get busy, but there are plenty of tables nearby. We browsed the menu on the kiosk and happened to see a Longanisa Breakfast Sandwich. Say less, we both were sold on trying it for ourselves. LOL. It's price at $16 and comes with fries. Just note, the breakfast sammies were not on the physical menu, but listed on the kiosk. The service is pretty much self serve since you can order on the kiosk and wait for the text once it's ready. Our orders didn't take too long to be completed. The TUS Longa-Sammy was loaded up with that fluffy egg, cheese, on a delicious brioche bun. It was tremendous. A true bite of Filipino breakfast in each bite. I'd always been a fan of longanisa as a traditional filipino protein and put it in sandwich form then I'm automatically gonna like it. I didn't know TUS had breakfast sammies at all. I've been to Haven City of West Covina many times now. I've tried many of the food offerings, and have found numerous places as "most favorite" to "pretty good" to "it's ok". It took me some time to get around to trying this place out. Having beautiful & delicious looking pancakes, topped with cream and fresh fruit. Unfortunately, I'm more of a savory than a sweet person. So I end up ordering the Big 5 breakfast plate. After finishing my meal, I wasn't overly happy with the amount of food that I got, as I was still slightly hungry, after eating my average size breakfast that you can get at Ihop or Dennys for under $10. And my over-easy eggs were over cooked. The price was pretty steep, $21 for an average tasting breakfast. I have heard of the original Take Ur Seat, so I'm glad to try the lite version that has opened nearby. You order via a kiosk and they text you when your order is ready. There's discounts for badge holders (medical, education, service, etc.), seasonal specials, and you can always order to go and pick it up as well. Decor is cute, very pink and bright. 10/10 for catering! Thankful for TUS! Had a small baby shower after Thanksgiving and wanted to have a little early breakfast with a small group of 20. Haven City only allows food from the food hall, so I'm thankful that Take Ur Seat and Local Coffee (also in Haven City) were open super early and was nice enough to help us cater our little event. Shout out to Fera (hope I spelled that right), she was super helpful and accommodating. Make sure you at least have a week in advance to place your order. The prices were decent for A half tray of steak $100, tater tots $40 and half tray of creme brûlée French toast was also about $40! It fed our party of 20 perfectly! Ube cloud pancakes (5.0) I'm usually not a fan of souffle pancakes because the ones I've had before are too dry and reminiscent of chiffon cake, which I don't like. But this is the best souffle pancake I've tried so far in terms of taste and texture! It's so fluffy without being dry because it has more of a creamy, whipped texture. The pancake flavor itself isn't bland with its hint of ube flavor that doesn't taste too artificial. The classic pairing of ube & coconut is enhanced with the bits of jackfruit. TUS Style Fries add Tri-Tip (4/5) Massive amount of cajun fries topped with a generous amount of caramelized onions and furikake (sesame seed with seaweed) flakes. It normally comes layered with their spicy mayo sauce, but because we decided to add Tri-tip steak, they recommend us to get it with their green sauce instead, which would complement the steak better. The cajun fries alone were very salty, so do be careful on not over-indulging if you have high blood pressure. I decided to give it a try by ordering the Belly 2 Belly Bowl and the Ube Cloud Pancake. The Belly 2 Belly Bowl was fantastic and incredibly filling. It came with rice, pork belly, spinach, a poached egg, and green onions, and I even had leftovers for another meal. However, while I usually love a good soufflé pancake, the Ube Cloud Pancake was a bit disappointing. It wasn't as fluffy as expected and didn't jiggle at all, so it felt more like a thick regular pancake. The topping of coconut cream and jackfruit bits was a nice touch, making it a decent sweet treat, but not something I'd order again. That's why I knocked off one star. Take Ur Seat Lite offers an interesting experience. I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice Omelette ($16) and Ube Cloud Pancake ($16) at 8:30AM on a weekend. There's no line, and I waited 23 minutes. The Kimchi Fried Rice Omelette is tasty. However, the portion is small for its price. It includes eggs, kimchi, rice, spam, and pork belly. The egg is velvety and fluffy. The rice had a welcomed, savory warmth. The pork belly is little but tender. The spam was the most flavorful meat. The Ube Cloud Pancake tasted like air. Its texture is cotton candy and a sponge cake. Unfortunately, I barely taste ube. Rather, the most prominent flavor is the Cream and Caramel drizzle. The Ube Cloud Pancake is aesthetically pleasing but forgettable in taste. Despite the lengthy wait and average food, the service is exemplary. I am adding one star just from the wonderful service. My server (Natalie) is professional, helpful, and welcoming. Natalie offered a tour of the menu; Natalie even repeatedly welcomed me to Take Ur Seat Life with a bright smile. The service at the register is top notch. Concerning ambiance, the location is clean. There's places to eat inside and outside. The location is located inside the New Haven Building, and "yes" the doors can be opened despite the early hour. They're just very heavy doors.
