Hubby and I have been coming to Snowflakes for over a year now, and it continues to be a solid spot…read morefor us. Our first Snowflakes experience was at a catered halo halo event at Bret Harte Library in Long Beach. Though since they didn't have vegan halo-halo, they offered Dole Whip. After that event, we learned about the brick-and-mortar in Artesia. Located in a plaza, look for the parol in the window :) Full transparency, we often end up at Snowflakes when our usual açai bowl spots are closed since Snowflakes is open until 9pm. The location is out of the way for us, but we'll make the drive because we know it's good! I always get the ube base. Most of the ingredients are plant-based, and the staff has helped let us know what isn't (like the ube chia pudding). One thing that Snowflakes has that I don't often see anywhere else is Ghirardelli dark chocolate sauce (yes, it's vegan!) https://bit.ly/4wzt1VW The store itself is bright, clean, and has a modest amount of tables/seats for dining in. Parking can be a bit crowded, but not impossible.

Bought their ube butter mochi bites. $10. Got a piece of paper in the first bite and egg shells…read morein the second. It was also no very chewy like mochi, but more like buttered dough. I understand the product is probably outsourced through a local home backer, but you're selling it at your shop and need to check what you're putting your name to. Waste of money for poor product. Wouldn't be surprised if I find a hair or toenail in the third bite. Very disappointing and will just trash it.

This is only a review for their wonton soup, but it was pretty tasty! It was hot and perfectly seasoned, in my opinion. The wontons were also silky and well seasoned. I used to go to Class 302 back in my college days and felt like it was just ok back then, but with the wonton soup being so good I'm tempted to come back and try their other items and see how those compare quality wise.

Look, is this the best Taiwanese food you'll find in Southern California? No. But does it hit the…read morespot when I, a Long Beach resident, don't feel like driving all the way to the San Gabriel Valley? Absolutely. The beef noodle soup is serviceable. It doesn't wow me, but it does in a pinch when the craving hits. The real standout to me when I start getting homesick for Taiwan is the ground pork over rice. The Tainan style is a little sweeter than what my Taipei family usually makes, but it's still warm, hearty, and comforting. The pork can be on the salty side sometimes, but I usually bring home leftovers and just mix a little bit more rice in. The spicy pork bone noodle soup is another favorite. Rich, creamy broth with good noodles, and comes with sides if you get the combo. I also find myself in here often just for the shaved snow. Fluffy, creamy, not too sweet. The perfect dessert to remind me of Taiwan. Service has been quite good every time I've visited, with buttons at the tables to call servers when you're ready to order or need something.
