Aguacates.. THE BEST!! I ordered the Birria plate with horchata. The plate came with beans, rice, and four tortillas, and I'll start with the beans. I feel like you can always tell if a Mexican restaurant is going to be good by the beans, and seriously, these were so well seasoned and delicious! The birria itself, I am speechless. It was absolutely FULL of flavor, meat was extremely tender, absolutely some of the best I have had!! The horchata was also perfect! Not too thin, not too watery, perfect sweetness and flavor, I got a large (32Oz) for so cheap too!! I must add that I ordered a side of pico de gallo and sour cream, and they both came in nice portions. I wish I could give this place more stars, it very well may be my favorite restaurant in general now. In the special requests, I asked for lemon or lime, as I like to put that on everything, and wasn't sure if they would, as most restaurants don't, but they gave me a whole lemon! (cut up into quarters of course). They deserve to be a 5 star joint cause of how great they are. read more

They sell the type of meat .. but the won't sell you anything other than a taco. I have family over , and they won't make a special order of a few Lbs of meat. What am I supposed to do? Order 45 or something tacos ? Then specify individually what toppings on each. Instead of just accommodating, they just send you away. It's not like I'm asking for free food! Even called the restaurant directly, and still even made me feel like it's weird to want to order in big quantities. Terrible service. read more

The Enchiladas had a lot of red sauce but it was pretty tasteless. The meat as well, it was cooked yes, but it didn't have much taste to it. The California Burrito though, was FANTASTIC. But since the Enchiladas were my main order I was left sorely disappointed. Also the excess sauce got super messy. Stains everywhere. Enchiladas don't have to be WET. read more

This was the first Mexican food I had after coming to California some years ago, and it's still one of my favorite places. I love the carne asada burrito, and their salsa. Another couple of my favorites from here are the adobada, and the breakfast burrito. There's no drive-thru, and that's probably the only down side. I went here at 10:30pm for me my wife and child. Let me start by saying that the birria was watered down and not very flavorful they also forgot to put homeny in my wife's Menudo she was very mad and so was I because we spent 50+ dollars to eat here I would not recommend anybody eat here such a rip off go to Birrias, El Padrino smaller portions but way higher quality for the money. My new favorite late night spot! They're open til 11 on weekdays. I got crispy grilled chicken tacos with guacamole and sour cream and omg they rocked my world. The taco shells were fresh, light, and crisp, not at all greasy. And the chicken was hand chopped dark meat. The green sauce was pleasantly spicy, if not a tiny bit on the watery side, but did the trick. Didn't try the red sauce. And the guy at the counter was so nice! read more

Ok, this is the first time ever giving a review but this place deserves it. As a Spanic person I'm very picky about "closer to the real deal" and I've passed this place every day for the past 8 or 9 years and never cared to buy anything until one day I was in a hurry and my son " a very, very picky eater" wanted to try the carne asada fries and it was love at first bite. Now is out Friday thing.There is two sizes, half and full. The first time I ordered, it was the half order ( big portion) but after that, my son wanted the full size and loves the left overs. I decided to buy the special 3 sopes with a drink for $6.99 for the first time and they were delicious. Both gentleman working in the kitchen super friendly and courteous. The place is old and rundown that's why I gave it 4 stars but once you'll try the food, you'll be back for more. read more

You definitely will get for what you pay for and is 100% cheaper than the other mexican joints in town and taste the best. Also, you can add extras to your food without being overcharged. Definitely the place to go in vista! read more

We were looking for something else down the street and couldn't find it so we gave up but found this on the way home. So lucky! Carne Asada fries 5 stars they are pretty big ! But the carnitas are cut into squares when you order a torta or anything else. I wish they were more like pulled pork. read more
