    Chile Colorado Plate - fantastic!
    Forrest H.

Well, today we learned that this is the original location. We used to go to the San Marcos location, but today we drove over there and it was shut down for good. Fine by me! I can finally get chile Colorado, my favorite entree, again. It was at the Vista location the whole time and I didn't even know. They took it off the menu at the other location a few years ago. We will definitely be back. Bigger parking lot, friendly owner, and food the way I remember it from years ago. This is our updated favorite sit-down Mexican place.

Very sad that the ownership changed. It's going to be really hard for them to live up to the last owners as the food was amazing and the portions generous. We ordered from them tonight and probably won't be back. The food was just ok, although my crispy taco was soggy and the quesadilla was anemic.

This is a good spot to get Mexican in Ocean Hills. It's conveniently located with a huge parking lot. Super nice people who greet you and serve you promptly. Servers were very friendly and helpful. The wall menu board is small and lengthy so you'll have to take your time looking at all over. The restaurant looks pretty clean, but is dated. There's a lot of seating inside and even some outside. You have to go up and order at the counter and then you can take it to go or sit down. The portions are very large. I ordered a Pollo Asado burrito and it was definitely more than enough for two meals. My friend got the enchiladas, which also looked great. Another had the tostada salad, which looked delicious. To go boxes/containers were pretty weak and unfortunately buckled under the weight of the food above it. Still tasted good but it was smashed. Didn't help to have my giant burrito on the very top. They have great salsa and will give you as much as you want. I thought it was good and I would recommend this restaurant.

We've been here a few times and every time the food is very good and the portion sizes are great. The operator was very friendly and patient while we were figuring out what we wanted to order. My wife cannot have dairy and I mentioned it several times when orders. Guess what, there was no dairy on any food, not even cojita on the beans. Sour cream was served on the side. Awesome. We waited around for about 10 minutes and took our meals home to eat. Take a look at the pictures because it was all very good and looked good too. This is a family owned/operated business so do us all a favor and give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Portion size(s) are remarkable! One battered fish taco was a full meal! One chili rellano burrito was three full meals! Cashier was friendly and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place looked nice and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was outstanding. Parking is good.

    Cali Burrito and Carnitas Plate

Looking for some delicious and bountiful Mexican food that doesn't sacrifice quality over quantity? Las Brisas is your answer! Everytime I've ordered from here I get pleasantly surprised on just how much food they provide and just how tasty everything is. And I tell myself that I shouldn't ever eat that much in one sitting but my tastebuds and appetite team up and say otherwise. The main draw for me is their Carnitas Plate. There's a heaping of mouth-watering carnitas on this enormous plate with some cheesy refried beans, guac, pico de gallo and rice to complement it. I bounce between stuffing my face with the combination of items on the plate or making them into tacos with the soft corn tortillas provided (or flour if you so choose). The slightly savory carnitas have some crisp areas and some tender, juicy chunks as well. I've also tried a "Surf & Turf" cali burrito by adding shrimp to their California Burrito. Talk about being in a pure gluttinous oasis. Not only will the abundance of flavors shock you but so will the sheer size of that behemoth. My photos does not do it justice! Lastly, their carne asada fries and nachos are also divine choices :) As for the staff, they are very friendly, patient and at times, provide some good conversations/laughs. This place is in a relatively small plaza but there never has been a time when I had trouble finding parking.

    Ask for HOT SALSA/SAUCE
    Joyce W.

Walk in, place order at cashier, pay, take your tray with complimentary chips and find your table, in or outdoor seating. Ask for HOT salsa if ya like it hot. Their regular salsa had a kick to it and had green tasty items mixed in. Felt like I was at an Aunty & Uncle's house with Aunty in the front and Uncle was the chef. I ordered the butter tequila shrimp that came with an avocado lettuce salad and buttered rice with green specks of yum. I counted 15 pieces of shrimp. I must mention caldo del Rez half size was a huge serving of a rich beef broth, not the thin clear stuff! The pure meat chunks were gumming soft with NO marbly/stringy stuff. Pal proclaimed it the best, deep flavored beef soup he's ever had!

The food was just as impressive. We started with the Spinach & Artichoke Dip, which was the perfect appetizer. For dinner, we ordered the Center Cut Filet, Cha Cha's Spicy Rigatoni, and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and something we'd happily order again. If you're thinking about dessert, do yourself a favor and order the butter cake. It absolutely lives up to the hype. What stood out most, though, was the people. Working in a restaurant can be overstimulating and exhausting. Everyone we interacted with was kind and welcoming. It's easy to enjoy a great meal, but it's the people who make you want to come back. Thank you to Jacob, Kaitlyn, the manager, kitchen staff, and everyone else who made our evening so enjoyable. We'll definitely be back.

The person who answered the phone was so kind and helpful. She advised they give a complimentary slice of their cheesecake for the birthday celebrant but didn't sell whole cakes. She informed me about the 85 Degree bakery and Stater Brothers next door. They will gladly store the cake. The menu was a little difficult to understand but once our waiter , sorry I forgot his name explained the combos vs AlaCarte and how much would feed a party of 5 We explained one person ate like a bird 2 of us were starving and 2 were medium hungry. He asked us what we wanted in terms of seafood. We all wanted crab one person didn't want shrimp etc etc. he advised us to start with 3 (bags) boil combos all with crab ,comboed with other seafood to make it a variation. Plus add an extra portion of crab. Well it was perfect. We did 3 different spice variations and shared The table is lined with plastic. A roll of paper towels. Plus the tools. Cracker and extractor. And gloves. Omg we had a blast eating the delicious food. Everything was fresh and just scrumptious. We had one bag with the garlic and old bay. Mild (I love heat but read mild had a kick. ). Which is did but was overall a mild kick. I was slurping the juice out of the clam shells it was so gosh darn good. Our waiter and the rest of the staff checked on us. Refilled our tea and water. We made a pretty good mess of things. Best part is we didn't have to clean up. Our waiter was so thoughtful, when it was time to have cake and open presents he invited us to use a clean table. He brought us plates and forks for the cake too. The restaurant space is kinda different. You walk into the restaurant and you're in a pretty large foyer You move through it to a gigantic dinning area with dozens of tables and booths. It has a huge high ceiling and appears more like a banquet size area. There were several other diners but because of the size of the restaurant it didn't feel crowded. We were trying to figure out what the space was used prior to Crab Pub. It has an Asian twist decor (marble deco columns) but decorated with fishing type props and decorations. It looks like service stations encircled the outer edge of the restaurant. Thinking it was a buffet place in the past. We loved the playlist music Thinking it was club like 80's 'maybe 70's original hits. Thankfully , No piped in cover instrumentals. So it was extra fun to get down and dirty eating and listening to great music. Bathrooms were clean All n all it was reasonably priced (we did Snow Crab as opposed to the King Crab that was pricier ). Recommend for families , and friend groups. Unsure if first date would be good as you have to get into the boil bag and it'll get messy. I hope to come back soon to try more combo seafood and different spice offerings

We also tried the gumbo, and it was incredible rich, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the seafood. The fried shrimp was a little overcooked, and the oil tasted slightly old, but it was still good and definitely not enough to take away from the overall experience.
