Let me start with this place doesn't look very curb appealing and it's very small but the food here is fresh fresh made to order! I had the chicken flautas and My son had the tostada next time. I'm going to try their Carne Asada plate. But I'll definitely be back. The food service here the lady is very on point fast and accurate like I said the place is very small. This place sits in a shared parking lot with a broken down motel. I didn't have high hopes, but yelp reviews don't typically lead me astray, so I persevered. We were initially confused since the food truck was operational in the lot next to the motel but I ventured forth into the restaurant. It's much smaller inside than I expected, but they make room for everyone no matter what. We were seated immediately....and luckily. There is a steady stream of patrons that visit, be it for a to-go order or dining in. I don't believe the entrance door ever fully shut. Our menus we're a little sticky, but the food smelled delicious...so I didn't mind. We first had our chips and salsa. Dang good! That salsa is crazy fresh, chock full of fresh tomatoes and cilantro...my perfect blend. The chips were crispy and salted enough to compliment the salsa. I honestly couldn't get enough of either. They do give a basket free with dining in orders; subsequent baskets are charged (and I would have paid it). Drinks came out in huge glasses, which was very nice. I ordered the 3 fish tacos (they will not split fish, so it's 3 fish or shrimp, no combos). Hubby got the burrito with ground beef (filled with refried beans, red sauce, rice and cheese). Food came out faster than I expected as the place was pretty busy. The fish was covered with a nice crema, lettuce (I'm used to cabbage), onions and cilantro. I didn't have high hopes. I was instantly regretful of my hesitation. The fish was fork tender and incredibly fresh. Just a light sear on the outside. The crema was plentiful and the onions, cilantro topping was perfect. I would have still preferred cabbage over lettuce, maybe a fried fish, but for getting exactly what I ordered off the menu, it was a home run. Hubby raved about his burrito...he finally found a burrito that was flavorful and juicy without making a mess with sauce. He actually finished his meal before I did because he loved it so much...and he's the slowest eater known to mankind. The price for everything was incredibly affordable, I almost felt bad paying as little as I did for great food and service (made it up with tip though!). Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. I have to start by saying that I have never been tempted to write a negative review for a place because I liked it so much - until now. I was only tempted because we'd liked to keep the place to ourselves. But it already seems that many people like the place. So the secret is out. We stumbled upon this nice little hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant while heading to another restaurant. But we decided to try it, and boy, we were glad we did. Aguililla Restaurant is a small restaurant with only 28 seats in total. We walked in to hear traditional Mexican folk music blaring from the kitchen (not a bad thing), and the staff was friendly and fast. I had a combination plate with a shredded beef chimichanga that comes with refried beans and rice. Michele had a carnitas burrito. We both felt it was some of the best Mexican food we have had in Idaho. We will definitely be back to try more of their dishes. They also have food truck we'd like to try. read more

My wife said this is the best Mexican food in Idaho. She saw the Yelp review and we decided to go here. There is a food truck in the back, and the seating inside is very limited. My wife ordered a Modelo beer for me, but the waitress brought out two. Beer in general doesn't agree with my wife so I got two beers. Great for me. My wife had mixed fajitas with chicken and beef. She said it was fresh and outstanding. I ordered the carne asada and it was delicious. The food was fresh, the service was outstanding. We are taking our adult daughter next time she is available. Food was so delicious!! I ordered 5 tacos, all different, and each was delicious. Try the tongue!! My son got a huge burrito, which he loved, and my husband ordered yummy chicken enchiladas. Wow! What a great little spot for authentic Mexican food! I have seen this place for years and finally made the decision to stop and try a few things. Repeating what other reviews have said, this place is tiny inside. I counted exactly 20 seats. But I went for a late lunch, around 2:30pm, and there were only two other people in the place. It did seem quite a few people came in for to-go orders. The salsa that came with the chips was delicious and spicier than most places. I put on everything else I ordered. Went with the tostada de ceviche and a sopes with carintas. Both were amazing. The carintas is one of the best I've ever had. And the ceviche was great, not too watery, very fresh. Service was friendly and food came out in a good amount of time. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced. I grabbed a to-go menu because I will definitely be back. Ooof what a gem! A great classic Mexican eatery! I can't believe I've spent all this time driving past this place but never stopping by. My husband and I were out and about in Nampa and our stomachs started growling, and as we drove by this restaurant as we have done so many times we decided to make a U-turn and stop in for some grub. The inside is small, like really small. I don't think it could fit more than 20 patrons comfortably. As we ate our meal it seemed like a lot of regulars ordered take out. I began my meal with a delicious margarita that was beautifully presented in a light blue glass with a perfect salt rim. It was delicious, more sweet than I'd like but still good. If you prefer your drinks strong I suggest you make that clear. My husband enjoyed a classic Modelo. For food I bellied up to one of Aguililla's many combination meals - #3. Shredded Beef Enchilada and Chile Relleno (served with rice and beans, $9.75). Every bite was delicious! Served piping HOT, the chile relleno was fantastic and the shredded beef in the enchilada was perfectly seasoned. I wish I could have eaten slower to savor every bite but it was so damn good! One of those meals that keeps your tummy rumbling at just the thought of it. If you're a fan of this dish, you gotta try it at Aguililla's. My husband picked the Chile Verde Burrito ($9.50) with shredded beef and a side of rice and beans. I think I enjoyed his dish more! They told her it would be 10 mins. 20 mins went by and they told her they could not fulfill the order because they were closing. This place wasted not only my time but also cost my driver money. The food is good here, and is reasonably priced for the inflation we've experienced over the last 2.5 years. It is a small restaurant with limited seating and a fairly extensive menu, surprisingly. They offer dinner plates as well as ala carte tacos & burritos, breakfast plates, and even some coastal seafood (ceviche tostada) as well as kids meals and hamburgers. The food is of good quality but they also have two food trucks and some of the less expensive items like burritos have some preprepared ingredients (carne asada for example). But the meat selection for tacos and burritos is outstanding, even offering head meat, lol. The salsa is flavorful and had that hot bite that the best Mexican cuisine does not shy away from. I had the Pollo A La Plancha, a seasoned, flattened chicken breast with a deep fried jalapeno, guacamole, rice, & beans. It was tasty and I always appreciate a cooked jalapeno on the side. The beans and rice were average but not bad. Wife tried the Taquito Bites, and they offered to mix both chicken and shredded beef. It was good, especially the chicken but the beef was slightly greasy. Guacamole was creamy but had some tomatoes for those who may be adverse, not bad but not exceptional. Adult son had the Super Burrito with carne asada, which is definitely a value portion on the menu and tasted good. Beware that margaritas served here are premixed out of a can or box. Make no mistake, this is a "hole in the wall", which we all like to seek out and it was a bit on the dirty side and even included rocking tables for the authentic experience, lol. There is even a 1950's motel that shares the parking lot on the south side from when U.S. 30 was the interstate drive through town. Mexican music was playing continuously, which is typical of course and seating was fairly comfortable, especially the upholstered benches. Service was friendly and VERY efficient. One pleasant waitress served the whole restaurant, including bussing the tables. I am still adjusting to inflationary pricing and wished this restaurant had 2021 pricing but there is probably no going back on that, unfortunately. Chapala VII and Jalapeno's off the Boulevard in west Nampa are higher priced, probably about 10-20% more, so this is a good choice for value. read more

This is a very small restaurant serving authentic Mexican cuisine near downtown Nampa. The place only seats roughly 30 people at full capacity. So, either get there early, or check out their truck down the street. The staff are extremely friendly and seat you as soon as they can. During my first visit, I had the Burrito Piso (or wet burrito) with adobada (marinated pork in red chile). It comes with sides of beans and rice. It was quite flavorful and a decent size. Not too small. Not too big. It was complimented by their chiles verde (green) and rojo (red). Be careful, the chile rojo has a nice kick to it. She was pretty swamped when I came in so I had to wait a little bit. She was super friendly and very fast-I got my food once I ordered in under 10 minutes. They do chips and fresh salsa while you wait (I found the salsa had good consistency wasn't watery). I ordered the ground beef enchiladas with seasoned ground beef. The ground beef was perfectly seasoned; no bland meat here along with enchilada sauce, and lots of cheese. The Spanish rice was definitely homemade.
