Ordered sashimi platter and two rolls to share. The sashimi options were limited - no toro, no Uni, no akimon (monk fish liver) - just basic tuna, yellow tail, salmon. Lots of cooked dishes like teriyaki, tempura, fried rice and tons of rolls. The rolls we ordered were drenched in too much sweet eel sauce masking the freshness of the fish Agree with others the owners are sweet and tried to provide great service. I've tried many Sushi places all over the country and every place here in Bakersfield. Ahi Sushi really impressed me. You can taste the quality and detail that was put in every dish. They have unique dishes like their dynamite roll and their scallop roll. No one in bakersfield has ever had flavored saki and if they did they didn't have mango or pineapple. The smoothness of it and taste makes it refreshing. They also have a unique candied radish that is one of a kind. Definitely a real sushi place that is nothing like any other in Bakersfield. I just want to start this review by saying this place is AMAZING. A must try for sure if you're a sushi fan that appreciates a clean establishment, genuinely friendly service and just overall great dining experience! I just had a baby 6 weeks ago & have been waiting for almost a year to have sushi again. Would have never thought to try a brand new place after that long but I heard some rave about it and decided to go for it. I'm SO glad we did. Gina was our server (after reading another review came to find out she's also the owner) and she was incredible from the second we walked through the door. She was so kind & truly brightened our day. Now onto the food... hands down some of the best rolls we've ever had! We got the Rosedale (our number 1 choice, so delicious!), Krispy Kreme and the Crazy Horse. I wish I would have taken some pictures because each roll was so beautifully crafted, fresh and just made to perfection. We had the tuna sashimi as well which just melted in your mouth. We met Justin the Owner, he was personable, friendly and shared his Sushi journey. We loved that about him. The sushi was great. The best I have had in Bakersfield. It was fresh, perfectly paired with sauce and love the selection of non rice dishes. Sufficient to say I loved it because I have been back with other visiting friends and my son. Ive been going and enjoying their food at least once a week since they opened and am pleased to report that there food is always on Mark in freshness and quality. Im retired from working in the wine business in the bay area for over 35 years. I always preached to wait staff when conducting staff seminars the importance of good service. Good atmosphere, reasonable prices, staff is amazing, and the owner really really goes out of her way to make everyone feel very comfortable. She even takes time to interact with my 1 year old son. Hands down the best sushi in town! Blue fin tuna is a must super fresh and melts in your mouth, tuna belly is to die for, yellow tail fresh and melty, salmon tatses great always fresh and their rolls and great combos of crab, spicy tuna and all kinds of good fish! I can taste the freshness and also can tell by the texture. Their sushi is top notch better than most I've had including places in LA and Las Vegas. This place competes with the top dogs! Their fried foods are also great too! Calamari being my favorite. I will be coming here regularly now for my sushi cravings because they treat you like family and have the freshest fish you will find in Bakersfield if not the entire west coast!
