I'm not a sushi fan and I won't eat anything raw. That being said, Ahi Sushi is my new spot for rolls. Really tasty and the service has been consistent that part couple times we've gone, everyone welcomes you when you walk in the door. When my husband's boss comes out for work, Ahí is always his spot too. So I'm happy to tag along.

Service was great! Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. My roll was not the best but maybe I got the wrong one.... I'll would try something different next time, but I don't think I'll return. The actual spot is small and cozy .. nothing special to return to

Went to Ahi Sushi to celebrate a friend's birthday with a group of 10, and overall it was a great experience. We timed it well and beat the rush, which definitely helped with seating and service. The service was good and the server was attentive and friendly, especially considering the size of our group. The food was fresh and came out in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the garlic edamame, which was flavorful and a great starter. The sauce that came with it was delicious and I used it with my sushi roll as well. I also had the rainbow roll and added jalapeños, which gave it a nice extra kick and made it even better. Overall, good food, good service, and a fun spot for a group celebration. Would definitely come back

My wife and I love sushi, so we finally decided to try Ahi Sushi. I had read tons of positive reviews about this place and I'm glad to say it lived up to the hype. The staff were all very welcoming and extremely friendly. The sushi was all excellent. Everything tasted so fresh and was so flavorful. My favorite was the monster roll. It was my first time trying it. The rainbow roll was also great tasting. All the fish that was laid on top was all fresh and great tasting. My wife chose the Jimbo roll. The presentation was beautiful. We will definitely return as this is probably our new favorite sushi spot here in Bakersfield

Was invited to a birthday dinner and they had reserved a table for a large group. The restaurant itself is not very big. However, it is very popular, as we noticed, a huge turnout. It was also Friday evening. Service was excellent, very warm and accommodating. I really liked the miso soup; I finished mine as well as my husband's! The sushi rolls were standard, nothing spectacular. I suppose portions are good. My husband also ordered the mixed fried rice and it was good. I will definitely be visiting again.

Still one of the best sushi spots in town. The cucumber salad I ordered off the recommendation of another yelp review. Delicious! Much larger than I thought. We ordered it to split and still only finished half of it . The sushi we ordered was great. The food is really good. The 5th star is for the service. Above and beyond friendly.

3 years have passed and though we don't visit as much as we did in the past, the food is still great and the staff is great.. Looks like the prices have increased slightly but can't blame them for that and the portions (tuna dance, Hama Hama, edamame, and cucumber salad) continue to be healthy.. Looks like they have have managed to hire some additional staff to accommodate the increased crowds.. Keep it up and here's to the next 3 years!!

I went back after one year for lunch. Still the same great service. Same great vibe. I ordered an appetizer and 2 rolls. The portion was so generous I had to take half of the food to go. The soft-shell crab was amazing. The Stockdale roll and spicy tuna was amazing. Great sushi

This place was great. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. All the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. It was very busy in there but it didn't feel loud or chaotic, definitely a nice ambiance. Our waitress was new but she was lovely and very helpful. If you're looking for a nice place for lunch or dinner, this is a great one. You will enjoy the food and the space is nice too. Can't believe I hadn't tried it before!

Came on a Friday for lunch and i was surprised how many people came at lunch time! But looking at their menu They have some good lunch deals. Interior was warm and clean, and had great soft lighting. Great fast and friendly service. My friend and I were seated quickly and given drink options. We had some questions about the menu and then ordered. They brought out 2 bowls of miso soup which was a nice touch, really yummy. I had 2 rolls, rainbow and Las Vegas. Both had some of the biggest pieces of fish I've seen at a sushi place! Really appreciate the big portions. Everything tasted fresh, I did taste a hint of something like vinegar and I think I normally like my sushi just a little sweeter if that makes sense, but all of it was delicious! I will be back to try more!

Love the customer service and honesty in love with the quality. I just got out from work and we came in really 20min before they closed and I was scared that they wouldn't take us in and I've been craving sushi so badly. When we went in the place it was sooo nice and they were so nice to take order in. This was our first time having their sushi and we will come back again for sure to try more. read more

We decided to go for sushi after the Luke Bryon concert was a bust. Hoping to find a decent experience and we were so pleasantly surprised to find a diamond! Ahi sushi has an amazing selection of rolls, fresh, baked, tempura etc! We ordered the yellow submarine, heavenly, snow, beautiful lady, and a few others! Would definitely come back and may even make a special trip just for the sushi! (We came from LA!) The sushi was that good!!! The prices were reasonable, portions were great, and sushi was a fresh and tasty! Service was friendly and really fast! Only great things to say about this place! Might have just hit the jackpot with this sushi restaurant! The service was friendly and welcoming right from the start and the food was delicious. I didn't expect the rolls to be so fresh and tasty but everything was. The chef even sent over a complimentary miso soup to start us off and it was perfect! The spicy tuna on top of crispy rice appetizer and the rainbow roll were my two favorite items but it doesn't seem like you can go wrong with anything from their large menu here! I am really looking forward to trying their sashimi and desserts next! read more

This place was great and we left super satisfied. I will rave and recommend to all friends and family. Greeted by the staff upon entry, Staff seemed happy to serve the customers and were very attentive throughout entire service. Ambiance was nice and relaxed. Music wasn't too loud but was loud enough to enjoy your own conversation and not hear others. Food - excellent! A bit on the pricier side, but this is the cost of fresh fish in Bakersfield. I'll be a repeat customer because of how fresh the fish was and will happily pay the few extra dollars to get this kind of quality sashimi. read more

Dining date was 9/26/25. We were anxious due to recent reviews questioning quality/quantity/service. Our experience was just another of a long series of pleasant, and delicious events at what has been, and remains, our favorite Bakersfield sushi place. True, over the past couple of months, prices have increased at least 13%, but portions are generous, quality is good, Asian chefs doing their thing were on duty, and the ever smiling hostess was the same. BTW: The lunch Bento deals remain uncommonly good values. This remains a simple, but delectable, Japanese restaurant. No starched linen, nor fancy silverware, nor crystal wine glasses. Just a fun place to eat good sushi. read more

Gina, Kryston Yeimi, and Andrew made our visit such a delight. We were welcomed with warm smiles. They are the dream team. We were looking for a good place to stop since we aren't from the area. The food was amazing and EVERYONE in my party (of 13) left gratified with vows to return next time we're in town. I ordered the Tuna dance. The tuna was flavored extremely well, the onions were a delicious surprise. The prices I found were extremely reasonable considering our portions were generous! Never received such awful service in my life. As someone who was a server and bartender for 10 years, I always give the benefit of the doubt and tend not to judge harshly, always leave a generous tip, etc... but these errors were inexcusable and truly ruined mine and my girlfriend's experience here. Our disappointment was mostly due to our server completely ignoring us while taking care of three other tables and even taking the time to chat and laugh with them while we were left completely unattended. My girlfriend ordered the flaming hot roll and sashimi sampler. We also ordered the spicy edamame to start with. I ordered the "Veg Ramen" which had a plant emoji next to it on the menu, so I assumed it was vegan. My mistake, but that could definitely be misleading for people who are vegan. When my dish came out, there was cooked egg in it. I planned on politely asking if I could have it remade without egg, but our server never came back to our table to check on us. It took about fifteen minutes before finally being able to catch her attention. Her section was basically a row of four tables, of which we were the third. She continually passed by our table briskly and with her head down, while still attending to and interacting with each of the 3 tables right beside us. One of her other tables was getting their second round of alcoholic beverages ordered and dropped off after we received our food and still had not been checked on. My girlfriend was more than halfway finished with her meal before I was able to even ask for a remake. To which the server responded, "for here or to go?" while still just barely starting to take drink and food orders for her other tables. This made us feel like we were being rushed out, while other patrons were still being welcomed. This was 45 minutes before their closing time btw, plenty of time to prepare a soup dish and for me to eat it. Initially, when we ordered our meals, our server said she would be back with our miso soups that come with our entrees. We never got them even though her other three tables all got miso soups. Yes, I looked! I had completely forgotten about it because I was so disappointed about everything else, but then my girlfriend pointed out that we also never got our spicy edamame. Finally the check came and of course the spicy edamame was on there despite never having received it. We were ready to leave, so I approached the waitress stand to just pay instead of waiting for her to come to us. I let her know we never got our appetizer and was dumbfounded by her response. She said when it came out of the kitchen, nobody could figure out where it went, so it was just given away to another guest. Nobody ever approached our table with it. Then I was still expected to pay for it? What a lame excuse, not to mention a clear lack of communication on her part between her and her coworkers. She took it off and I paid, and for the first time in my life did not leave any tip. This was our second visit. Our first was wonderful, we had a different server and the whole experience was great- but after this one we will not be returning. Being completely ignored the entire time we were there, while her other three tables right next to us all received attentive service, and then feeling rushed out was all totally inexcusable to me. Hire servers with experience who don't pick and choose which of their tables they actually provide service to. Had we not felt incredibly unwelcomed, she would have received a 25% tip. However, she made us feel like she did not even want to serve us and that is completely unacceptable. read more

Awesome to see that Ahi Sushi ranked #10 on Yelp's Top Sushi Restaurants and it is well deserved! Since their opening, we've always had an amazing experience! Customer service is hands down the best! Staff is kind and attentive. Everyone makes you feel welcome, especially the owners. Quality of fish, presentation, and portion of rolls are five stars! There is a wide variety to choose from off the menu including some desserts. Great place for any occasion - date night, family get together, or celebration. This is our favorite sushi spot in town and will continue to be. If you haven't already tried this place, put it on your list! read more

Wow! This place was amazing! I can solo, but was hungry for fresh sushi and quality food. It was beyond my expectations. The Heavenly Roll was not only delicious and fresh, but beautifully put together and presented. A work of culinary art! Miso was settling. Service was great as well, always checking in and make of sure I was good. I'd recommend this as the best Sushi in Bakersfield. Wish they had a restaurant in my neighborhood read more

We started with complimentary miso soup. Our sushi was Godzilla, Shirmp Lover and Dragon. We ended the dinner with Green Tea tempura ice cream. Omg. It gives a great cake and ice cream. read more

I have tried every sushi spot in Bakersfield, and although we do have some really good ones that I usually stick to, this was the only one that left me wanting more! My goal at any location is to find the best raw salmon and I am happy to report that this had the most fresh fish I have had. The service was fast and the the servers were friendly. If you're looking for fish that melts in your mouth, I highly recommend you try it here! read more

A very happy surprise! First time visit for lunch. Very clean, nice atmosphere, friendly, attentive staff. I chose a lunch bento for $14.99 with teriyaki beef and vegetable tempura as my 2 choices. Came with miso soup and a salad. My husband chose the chicken Ramen at $13.99. Very generous portions for both meals, good taste and presentation. It was great! This is a place with a cozy atmosphere, attentive waiters, delicious food. Our order was ready very quickly. All the dishes were absolutely new, without any cracks, comfortable chairs. I recently went to Ahi for lunch and ordered the three item bento box. I was extremely happy with the prices, the quality of the food and the service. I will definitely be returning in the future. My only issue was with the sushi rolls. They were rolled so loosely that I had a hard time picking them up without them unrolling.
