The service was very friendly and very happy and very into what they're doing. They like discussing the food with the clientele and seemed to know many by first name basis. That made it feel very comfortable and personable. The restaurants very lovely and well lit. Some places are so dark. You can't even see your food let alone the person you're sitting with. Selected this spot for the large variety of Susie, ramen and assorted appetizers. It did not disappoint! Ordered edamame and gyoza for apps, and beef ramen and the summer breeze roll for mains. The restaurant was full and the staff courteous and accommodating. The menu is huge, but I chose a two item bento lunch special . There were a couple items to pick from, but I picked the shrimp tempura and teriyaki chicken . I feel if your basics are delicious, then everything else will be too . We came on a Saturday late lunch. The restaurant is not too busy, there were 4 or 5 tables not occupied. We waited for a good 10 minutes before we got seated. Server serves the menu and drinks came. We ordered their bento combo. We were not really impressed by the the beef served to us. We were not impressed with the sushi that came with the bento as well. Overall, the ambience inside the restaurant was flowing okay. We did not finished our bento combo. I am not very much impressed with the overall food, and service we received from the restaurant. Great flavor and texture with shaved green onion. Ordered the Dragon ball appetizer: Shrimp surrounded with crab with a fried batter. Scrumptious. Crisp outside with the luscious crab and shrimp inside. It was Drizzled with a spicy sauce. Love it. The Crazy Horse roll had Ahi tuna, Salmon, Yellow tail and crab topped with Masago. Amazingly delicious. All the fish was perfect and fresh and prepared with care, with a mustard sauce underneath. In the top three rolls I have ever had. Service is great. We ordered 3 rolls, 2 of which tasted like mustard. I could even see some sort of oil sauce with mustard seeds put over the top of our rolls. I did not like this flavor at all. New sushi spot in Bakersfield so I had to try it out! As you walk in, you're greeted by the host, server, and chefs which was very welcoming. They give you complimentary miso soup. The rolls were wrapped tightly and did not fall apart which is also what I loved! Garlic edamame: 6/10 This tasted okay, just wasn't as flavorful compared to other restaurants. Crazy horse: 8/10 This was a fresh roll and it was pretty delicious! I'm not quite sure what they sauce they have on the plate but it is tangy and adds a delicious taste to the roll. Dynamite: 6/10 I didn't realize there were mushrooms in this but if you're a mushroom lover, this is the one for you! I don't like mushroom so it was my fault for ordering this. The toppings consisted of scallops, mushrooms, stringed onions, and sprouts. Salmon tempura: 10/10 Honestly, you can't go wrong with this! It was delicious! Overall, I would definitely go back again. If you love sushi this place is the one. We ate for the first time this afternoon. The place is owned by a couple who opened 4 months ago. Moved here just before covid from Bay area. This place is the one to beat in Bakersfield. Its clean, the fish is fresh, the staff happy and helpful. I recently had lunch at Ahi Sushi. I opted for the lunch bento box with 2 items, my items being the salmon with avocado and tempura. The salmon was fresh and the rice was lightly seasoned. Sometimes sushi rice can be overpowering. The seasoning matched the salmon perfectly. The tempura was cooked perfectly. The batter didn't appear to be panko based, but I really enjoyed the "crunch". After sitting on my plate for half an hour, the exterior was still crunchy. The sprinkling of sesame seeds on the rice ball was a nice touch. I highly recommend Ahi Sushi. read more

They have SUSHi! Not just maybe 5 kinds of fish. Uni, flying fish, Salmon and another kind of fish egg I forget. Real crab! Seaweed (yummy) salad! Had no problem with anything in the service department or ambience, everything fresh except the great wait staff I don't think I ever found better sushi in LA. My first sushi was in Boston in 1979 driving from Hanover, New Hampshire and back just to do it. I remember my bill was 100 bucks. The service is great. Everyone is very pleasant. The food would be better if it wasn't slathered in sugar sauce. I wish they would add the phrase "slathered in sugar sauce" after they describe what's inside the rolls to remind you to ask them to hold it. But I guess that's how Americans like their "sushi" - sugar sauce with different textures. I think the sushi rolls would be fine on their own - they don't need all that sauce. The fish is obviously fresh - to drown it in sauce just means they died in vain. The crispy rice with spicy tuna doesn't need all that sauce - maybe just a drop on the top to offset the spiciness of the jalapeno slice. It's a lovely dish all on it's own. read more
