So, before I launch into my review, let me help out fellow Yelp-ers with the following: If you visit during their grand opening period, make sure to order a drink with your food to get 50% off your meal. I saw the big banner that said "50% off grand opening" but didn't read the fine print that said "with purchase of drink." So when the cashier asked if I wanted a drink for 50% off, I said no because I didn't want a drink even if it was 50% off. Didn't realize that 50% off applied to my meal. And now we return to our regularly scheduled review: I got the regular bowl (two scoops) and ordered the tuna luau and the salmon over white rice. (You can also choose from brown rice, green salad or 50/50). It's very much like a Subway or Chipotle experience so then I could choose my sauce (house sauce was great with the salmon) and then toppings (edamame, ginger, crab salad, furikake, green onions, roe, various sauces). The burrito and the poke bowl looks amazing but came to find out that they weigh the portion of the protein and it's not a satisfying feeling. Absolutely terrible service. I arrived 30 minutes before closing and was not greeted or even looked at. Stood there for a few minutes debating on the menu, and still no one said anything. Multiple employees walked past and right in front of us and didn't even look up. The whole store had a slightly rancid fishy odor. Avocado was all brown, the fish looked slimy, the music was trash and the employees clearly don't care so I decided to not overspend on some garbage and promptly left. read more

I went there a week after they opened and I was amazed about the food. Today I brought my wife and she same as me is a sushi lover and really appreciate quality food. We agreed for the money you pay there's no way you can get better that that. We spent vacations in many places including Hawaii where basically ahi poke is a specialty and we didn't enjoy more that this ones. I recently moved to Sacramento and have been really craving poke. This place was right by me so I thought it was worth a try. I ended up being really disappointed by my order. They gave my the smallest portions!!! The two scoops of fish were barely anything and I got the dumbest bit of seaweed salad. I got more cucumbers than fish! also got a random piece of avocado which I didn't order. Didn't mind but could be bad to mix toppings like that in case someone is allergic. Let me first off say that any poke place in California will fall short to poke in Hawaii. So when I rate poke spots here, I compare them to other Cali spots that I've tried. This spot unfortunately falls short. I entered around noon & was greeted right away. They do have all the standard protein choices & toppings. They even offer an "Ahirrito" aka a sushi/burrito, which is difficult to find. Decided to just go with a regular bowl. They had labels for their proteins, but no labels for their toppings. Which made it kinda difficult to tell the staff the items you picked. Pointing doesn't always work. I spent $15.71 for a regular bowl (2 scoops & guava drink). I thought that was kinda pricey compared to other poke spots, especially because their regular was 2 scoops as opposed to 3 scoops at other poke places. The poke itself wasn't the best. I don't know how to explain it, but it wasn't fresh. The good things about this place is the restaurant is bigger than most poke spots, so it can accommodate big groups. It's also clean. And the staff was friendly. The best part for me was the guava drink. I found it really tasty. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Ridiculous service. Nobody greeted us when we went inside. Not only did the guy look high out of his mind, he was the most rude and disrespectful person I've encountered working fast food... including McDonald's workers. Rather than asking what we wanted he just looked at us and didn't say anything and when we asked for our stuff he didn't listen and didn't ask clarifying questions and was confusing and ended up giving the wrong amount of scoops and charged us extra. This is a big poke joint. I went to their locations in SoCal and Arizona. The quality is great, value is great, clean, flavorful. I have more of a pleasant experience in this place than other poke places in the Arden area. Parking is plenty. You also get 10% off on your order too if you purchased movie ticket in the plaza! Yayyy! Also Cream is next door and Bonchon is opening next doors ion . Very good Poki bowls restaurant open in the new expended Howe 'bout Arden shopping mall together with Century Theater, Nordstrom Rack, Home Goods etc...... Very convenient location and a lot of parking! I have received a very nice greeting from the girl who is working behind the counter when I walk into the restaurant. Order is also very easy. They have posted everything on the wall or in front of the counter. Not every workers here are fully trained yet! Some girls seems under training! I think they'll do better when all the workers have received their training for the service. They have a good variety of choices. You can get white rice, brown rice or salad for the base. 12-13 items of fishes, spam or tofu. Add the sauces you like. Loads in the veggie topping. You have a delicious poki bowl now! Yes, it is very delicious. I have the octopus and albacore with a lot of topping loaded in my bowl. The sauces had lots of flavors. I tried the house sauce with sweet citrus and sesame oil. Top with sesame seed and crispy onions. So delicious and very fresh! Ahi Poki will be Grand opening tomorrow. Halfway through my poke salad I see an employee, I think, in a black crop tank top with skin showing, whuxh doesnt bother me, its the cleanliness, and scratching her head in the food area behind the register and going back and forth between the register area and the kitchen. Why would a poke bowl come in a square to go container meant for a burger & fries, not a bowl? The yellowtail is not cut, how do you expect me to eat it with a plastic fork, it is not bite size? I was not impressed with my poke bowl from this place. Not only are they overpriced but their portions are absolutely small. They have a small selection of sauces and the quality of their meat is not pleasant. I tried the Sweet Soy Salmon marinated fish and it had this pungent taste to it, making me wish I just got the salmon without the marinate. The ahi tuna marinate option was alright though. I'm surprised they didn't have unagi sauce and had teriyaki sauce instead. read more

I like the half salad half rice option for those who want to cut down on carbs. The prices are decent but I wish the regular size came with three scoops instead of two. Other poke places I've been to offer 3 and this is the only reason I'm giving AhiPoki 4 stars instead of five. All in all, this will be my go to pre-movie place for lunch! read more

If I could rate this place 4 trash cans I would. Ahipoke more like ahiweak. I went with the ahiritto and it was a just huge disappointment! It was mostly rice and the poke was ahhhh missing. There was barely any fish in it and It was also hard to eat. I ended breaking it apart and eating it like a bowl and the other half of my burrito was not even fully wrapped! My chicken was tough and had way too much cartilage. (Maybe it's my fault for getting chicken at a poke place, but atleast make it decent if you're going to put it on the menu and try to make money off of it.) The bowls also have too much rice in them. The worker that put together my food was maybe having an off day or just really wanted her shift to be over. She was a little bit short with me (it was my first time going there so I was taking time to choose what I wanted) even though there was nobody behind me. And then at the end she just put me and my boyfriend's order together without asking if we wanted to pay separate. I love poke. I had a place in the Bay Area that can't be topped. This location is close to my home, it's clean and sanitary. On the negative, toppings were limited and they literally didn't have toppings when I went in. There were no onions at all and no avocado so... yeah. I got a bowl with two scoops and I got Unagi. Extra dollar for it which is classic but the cut was not good. It was kinda fatty compared to the leaner cuts I've enjoyed in the past. The taste was good but it just wasn't lean. My only other complaint was the rice. It wasn't sticky and sweet so it left my bowl tasting a little bland. The sauce they added wasn't enough. Luckily I added the imitation crab which has some creamy sauce on it. Once it got mixed in it was tasty. Overall, customer service was okay, taste was decent and prices were good. I would recommend but with some notes on how to order... (extra sauce please ). I'll give them another try in the future. read more

(assuming this is her name, since it was on the receipt; she was not wearing a name tag), the serving size, and the quality of food. I gave 1 star because I had to, to leave feedback. Customer Service from worker: POOR No acknowledgement from when we walked into the store. I believe she was cleaning the floor. She stops and grabs gloves; still no acknowledgement - I then ask if they had salmon - she says no but they have blazing salmon. She ultimately made my daughter and I that we were being a burden; she did not engage with us at all. QUANTITY: EXTREMELY POOR I've been to many poke restaurants, including the islands and international. Her scoop was literally 3-4 pieces of tuna (small pieces). I asked her to add a few more pieces and she gave attitude and said "how much are you wanting?" REALLY!?! Never been to a poke place where the scoop size only gave you 3-4 small pieces. Salad, burrito, or bowl. They build it to your liking with limited ingredients which are all fresh. The place is clean and fancy, like an ungraded house with granite and glass everywhere. The staff sucked. Don't ask for substitutions, they're not interested in veering from the menu. We did. They not only said no, but mumbled something to each other in a different language and then laughed. Rude. Such a shame when you see a place open, anticipate try it, and on your first visit, are disappointed like this. The miso soup was probably a packet reconstituted with hot water and fresh chives (which I don't eat) added. My Keurig can make that for me. I had some pretty high expectations of this place given the high ratings. Unfortunately I wasn't one to agree. Their rice was just normal plain white rice, like from a Chinese restaurant. I was expecting seasoned Japanese style rice. The scoops of the protein were very small compared to other poke places around Sacramento. All in all, yelp ratings let me down on this one. I tried the burrito. Smaller than other places. You know how at Taco Bell, there is the size difference of the Grill Stuffed Beef Burrito and burrito supreme? This is equivalent to the burrito supreme. Other places' sushi burritos are the equivalent to the Grilled stuffed Beef burrito. --Tons of rice. I had 5 toppings plus 2 protein and the rice ratio is still more than the 7 ingredients. So much so that some bites were just rice and seaweed paper. Can't say I was sold with my first experience. read more
