Chinese Chicken Salad... keeping everything separate until ready to serve & enjoy. Crowd favorite.

Aiea Manapua also has baked spaghetti. This brought back childhood memories for many... and was enjoyed by all. Would definitely order this again along with their Chinese Chicken Salad and mini manapuas for our next gathering. Aiea Manapua is our fav place to order food for our workplace meetings. Early pickup time & variety makes Aiea Manapua top of our list.

This place never disappoints. I love the steamed charsiu manapua and baked spicy sausage manapua. I get the chow mein, very peppery but super tasty. Everything goes well with the crispy gau gee I always am sure to get when I stop in. Great place for a snack or for a whole lunch/dinner. I'll often pick up boxes of goodies for meetings as well. It's helpful that they open at 5am on the weekdays so I can stop in on my way to work. They are always patient, helpful and pleasant. It's a small space, so you can just wait outside until it's your turn, but it's okay as it gives you time to decide what you are going to order.

Felt like eating manapua and pork hash so drove to Waimalu Shopping Center to Chun Wah Kam about 12:30pm but when I gave them my order, they were out of baked manapua so I left. I then called Aiea Manapua & Snacks and they still had some. The person I spoke to was nice and helpful. He suggested I put in an order just in case they run out. Ordered the pizza, shoyu chicken and char siu manapua, pork hash and layered rice cake. What I tried: - I had the pizza manapua. It was a little spicy and tasty! I even loved the taste of the bun and ate it all which I usually throw away at least half. It was like eating a slice of pizza...would definitely order this again! - I didn't care for the pork hash texture...hard to explain it but a word that comes to mind is rubbery. I love pork hash but wouldn't order this again. - As for the layered rice cake, it was so soft and yummy! Have to remember this place when I feel like eating this because most places only sells the white ones...don't care for those. My husband had the shoyu chicken manapua. He was disappointed because it had more bun than filling but thought it was tasty. Would he order this again? Not sure... Per their menu, you can order Potluck Platters. Also, if you call them 24 hours ahead for Manapua, Pork Hash and Half Moon, they can freeze your order for travel. This place is located across the old Aiea Library. There's limited free parking right in front of this place but so far, we've found a space easily when we patronized here and other eating places.

I had ordered snacks for the office one morning. I placed the order a couple days ahead and I picked up super early before the sun came up. It's great that they open up early in the morning. Thank you Aiea Manapua for the great service and extra mini Manapua's.

I am not local and am probably not the expert when it comes to local dim sum style snacks and manapua. But I know what I like and my Gold Standard for this stuff is/was the now defunct Char Hung Sut. I have replaced them with visits to Royal Kitchen and Sing Cheong Yuan whenever I am visiting. If CHS was a 5, and those 2 are 4's, then Aiea Manapua is a 3.5 in my taste profile. It is about 20 min out of Waikiki so visitors like me are almost never going to be close by. But I love that it opens at the 0500 crack of dawn (maybe even before!) and I love that it has its own little parking lot which makes it easy to eat early when jet lagged and without a parking hassle. The shop is old-style cute and I love the graphics on the signage and the box (although I'm pretty sure that the cartoonish image of the old Asian guy dragging the manapua steamers around while wearing a rice-paddy sun hat is culturally inappropriate haha). They have all the usual greatest hits ready for the breakfast crowd but no noodles early in the AM. I also loved the size of the Pork Hash which is larger than a golf ball and smaller than a baseball but not by much. The filling was tasty and very chunky so if that is not your style, it may be a bit much for you. The other thing I liked was their Pork Gau Gee. I dig pig and this had a lot of porky, savory goodness inside with a perfectly crispy wrapper. I also like that they give you hot mustard upon request and don't nickel and dime you for it like other places. Lastly, I thought that their pricing was fair especially given the portion size of some of the items. You can definitely fill up quickly and not break the bank. What was less great for me was that every other item had the exterior consistency of thick gluey dough. I think some people may love that texture. It was a bit much for me. The Half Moons were very thick and not because of the filling. The rice cakes were very gluey and dense. The manapua were doughy and missing some sponginess that I associate with bakeries that have close attention to detail. Everything was tasty but it just felt like a lot of gluten in the box when I put it to the test. I love these old school local food shops and I would have no problem going here again for a bargain early breakfast or a midday snack, especially if I'm in the area. But it was just a notch down from the best local-style dim sum that Oahu has to offer so it is not going to make my short list of places for a long-haul last meal.

Hubby picked up some manapuas, pork hash, chow fun & rice cake from here for lunch today. Chow Fun was tasty, they use good noodles. Pork hash , rice cake & manapua was good.

Not bad! My mom had heard about Aiea Manapua & Snack, and suggested it one day as we were deciding on avwhick spot to pick up lunch. It was really easy to find, just across the lane from the old Aiea Library. Parking is super limited and tight, but luckily stalls open up fairly quick. There were at least 10 people we seen come and go while we were there, so it seems to be a pretty hot spot. We decided to get a few options to try out as much as we could. We opted for a couple rice cakes, crispy gau gee, baked kalua manapua, baked Teri cheeseburger manapua, fried chicken, tempura sweet potato, and the mushroom stuffed fried pork hash. Holy moly, it was a lot! Everything was delicious! My faves were the fried chicken, sweet potato, and the mushroom stuffed pork hash. They were all super oily though. I was disappointed with the Teri cheeseburger manapua. It was pretty lame, and the patty super tiny as opposed to the amount of bread. Otherwise, I'd totally come by again. I love supporting local small businesses.

Ordered Ham and Cheese manapua, it ended up being hole and cheese manapua lol. Plenty bread no filling, eating a ham and cheese hot pocket probably better. Taste like a melted cheese slice on bread from the microwave.

If I could give them 100 stars, I would!! Came as they were closing. They were still able to give me what I asked for. Their food quality is amazing! Their portions are more than generous. The store front is quaint and to the point. Everything is labeled clearly and they have a very wide variety for such a small shop. I hope small businesses like this gem stay open forever!!

First time here, had to check it out since there is always a line of customers. I got a box of mixed steamed and baked char siu manapua for a work meeting snack for co-workers to enjoy. The manapua was still warm, which I was very pleased about. Wish there was more filling. I like the bun softer, but it was alright. The co-workers was appreciative and wiped out the box.

I was feeling nostalgic about manapua today having been raised on the same street as Libby's in Kalihi waaay back when they had their tiny green storefront on Kalani Street. Aiea Manapua kind of gives me the same vibes - tiny on the inside with a giant menu of interesting manapua from the classic char siu to pizza. Baked and steamed. Regular and mini (you would need to order those 24 hours in advance.) Totally appreciate the three young people working the front of the shop. Made it feel like a family kind of vibe. The manapua didn't come out warm from the steamer like I expected but the char siu was pretty good, had some big chunks of the meat. The ratio of bread to meat was good. When you're old like me, small reminders of the past is welcomed.

I never have any complaints about Aiea Manapua. Reminds be of small kid time snacks! Their steamed manapua bread is so soft! Close to closing so we got A LOT did lunch & dinner!

Super shout out to Aiea Manapua for joining my daughter in feeding the homeless. She bought 3 boxes of goodies and he joined in willingly out of the kindness of his heart and gave 2 boxes of goodies because he heard what they were planning. Food was great, ambiance small mom and pops, service was definitely 10000 with a huge heart! Support locals that serve Aloha! This business is definitely one of them!

Located in Downtown in the same space where Yong Sing, Mandalay, and the short-lived Bourbon Street used to be. Inside feels and looks essentially the same as the prior restaurants. Huge, open, two levels. Would you believe there was once a time where the second floor was an option to sit because it was just that busy? Hours is basically 10am everyday till 3pm, then 5-930pm. However, the dim sum is not the case. It's much, much less. There's only 16 total, and 7 more on weekends only. It's essentially the bare basics (but no beef ball!). All the dim sum looks exactly the same as Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant, but everything was on the bland side and just felt like it was missing something. The Bean Curd Roll with Pork was probably the most flavorful dim sum of the meal. Jam-packed with tasty and flavorful filling. Overall, the dim sum was decent and almost similar to Kapiolani Seafood, but it was a touch on the bland side and a slight step below. Service was good. Friendly and attentive. Food came out pretty quick. Inside was cool, spacious, and comfortable. I want to come back on my lunch break! I don't mind dim sum'ing solo! Hopefully there'll be more dim sum choices. They were extra busy so service was OK, as attentive as they could be, very cut and dry, put in our order and it arrived one by one. It's always been very lively, but especially today! We were lucky to get the seats that were up a few stairs to see everyone below us. Because we saw the crowd, Jade Dynasty must be a favorite for many! Service was great. Our waiter was very polite & was able to speak in English for us - the other team members were polite, too, but understood Chinese better. Snow Mountain Char Siu Bao was our favorite. The newest dish for us & worth ordering the next time. All the other dishes were good. ..be careful ordering too much. It's a lot of food! Delicious!

Happy joy joy... Old…read moreSchool still here in Kaimuki and it sure is Happy Days more known for their dim sum which I've enjoyed in the past but tonight I was my own for dinner and just wanted something hot and comforting so here I am in Kaimuki where parking can be the trickiest issues though lost of metered parking is available most are taken and on this busy Waialae road it does get kinda crazy sometimes. Municipal lots are available as well as they do have direct entrance from the back lot for convenience but I was fortunate to secure a street parking so running i was fast and easy...much easier than deciding from their massive menu so I just kept it simple with their Oyster Sauce Chicken with Cake Noodle. The staff there is very friendly upon taking my order and as I waited for my order it was nice to see the classic vibe of staff making wonton during their down time amounts the hundreds of seatings they still have to this day is so nostalgic. As I enjoyed my dinner at home it was so warm and delicious just as I've always enjoyed in the past like nothing has changed just the comfort of what I grew up in Kaimuki. Thank you!

I really liked their boneless chicken cake noodle dish; crispy cake noodle with chicken, sautéed greens, and thickened sauce was a perfect blend of everything. Overall, its survived the test of time and a good place for dim sum, although I've had better from other options in Honolulu area.

The rice was smooth and thick. I wish there were more century egg bits. The broth flavor could have been a bit stronger, so I asked for shoyu. One order is good for two people. I also ordered shrimp dumplings. They were plump pieces of shrimp and a good size. The skin wasn't thick either. They weren't hot like the porridge was but it was fine coz then I could eat them right away. The hubs got some pork mochi. They were quite generously filled as well. The mochi was crispy and chewy. Everything was decently priced. It's a little stall in the Maunakea Marketplace food court, so mostly self-service over the counter. The uncle was kind and pleasant. Auntie was busy cooking/prepping in the back. We were there around lunchtime on a Sunday so they were probably getting ready to pack up as well. I'd try the fried donut and other dim sum items next time!
