We went to Pasadena for the weekend. After we went to the weekend market across the street, we were hungry and came across the ramen place. It wasn't too busy when we went. Food was good. Enjoyed everything we got. The crispy chicken is good to start. Ramen is a decent size. We also tried the pork rice bowl. We left happy and satisfied. They have housemade drinks. The cucumber mint is so good

This is my second visit to HiroNori and I'm really impressed ! The fist time I took the food to go and it was tasty and delicious when I had it at home. The second time around we sat down and enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. The service was prompt , friendly and very helpful/ attentive. Once again the food was excellent. So fresh ! We had the crispy tuna appetizer, a salmon bowl and pork belly bowl. We ordered the large portion and it was enough for my husband and I to take food home. Their house spicy sauce is made in house and it is a must have!!! Incredibly delicious. Their green iced tea is organic. Loved this place and will be back when the weather cools down to try their ramen .

I've visited HiroNori a few times over the past few years and brought several friends as well, who have always enjoyed it. The menu has changed a bit since I was last here (sadly no more black garlic ramen!), but the quality is just as good. A newer (?) addition is the Spicy Cold Dipping Noodles, which I got and thoroughly enjoyed -- great balance of heat and texture, and a nice option if you're not looking for a hot bowl. Definitely worth a visit if you're deciding between a few places on Lake Ave. :)

So far this has been the best ramen I've had in LA. SO good. The pork was perfectly tender, the seasoned egg was so good (always my favorite part), the broth was the perfect consistency and was perfectly savory. Honestly everything about it was wonderful I'm so glad I came here!

    Spicy tuna rice bowl

My wife and I stopped in for a quick lunch in Pasadena. We were seated immediately. The room is spare, tables along the wall with banquet bench seating on one side, backless wooden stools on the other. The stools are ergonomically comfy, but you can'r lean back. The menu was simple and our server came over right away to answer any questions and to describe various dishes. I ordered the Tonkatsu ramen and my wife ordered the spicy tuna and rice bowl, though we shared them both. Portions are more than ample. All the wait staff was friendly and informed. But the reason I am taking the time to review HiroNori is because the food was absolutely delicious and the presentation, thoughtful and artful. I wasn't expecting it. The Tonkatsu broth is rich and silky. The tuna bowl was beautiful with surprising flavor pops! The price was in line with other, less innovative, ramen places. I will return. Note, tip is added automatically, but it was what I would have tipped, 20% --though it's nice to be able to make your own decision.

    VEGAN RAMEN (added chicken)

Was craving a warm bowl of ramen with this cold front, so I stopped by Hiro. Friday night, 7pm, no wait (yay!!). I opted for their veggie ramen and added chicken because I wanted to get a big bowl with veggies. It was good ramen. Not great. It was actually lukewarm and not very hot, and the broth was missing flavor. I will say it was a sizable portion. Service was fast.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The store was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was excellent. There was a great variety of food options to choose from. They even offer vegan ramen choices. I ordered the small spicy tuna bowl, and it was surprisingly filling. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful!

The Ramen is one of my favorites. The broth is absolutely delicious and worth it. Just so good Always worth the drive, but the parking is super hard to find sometimes you gotta park a block away The service is amazing very attentive [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love how it's very minimal vibes[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    SHOYU RAMEN with corn
    Kristine L.

I've been here a long time ago and finally made a return visit. For parking I usually park in the S Lake lot and walk over. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got seated right away but there was an employee working at the larger 4 person booth and tried to sit the 3 of us at a table with only stool seating which did not look comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not sure why an employee would take up such valuable real estate and we asked if 2 tables could be pushed together at the booth so that at least some of our party could have that seating. I ordered the shoyu ramen to try something different since I historically always got the tonkotsu one and we shared a bowl of edamame. I added corn but was not happy to see that was an additional $2.30 which is pricey so a small bowl of it. I was not really digging the broth, it tasted almost a little sour and tangy which I didn't like. I did like they had fruit infused water and do service charge as opposed to tip. I think I would come back to retry the tonkotsu cuz I remember enjoying that better. But given I've had really good ramen elsewhere in this area it's why I haven't been back in awhile and this last trip didn't give me the itch to come back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Small ramen spot in Pasadena.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the tonkatsu ramen. Noodles and chashu were great. I like a spicy tonkatsu and added the chili oil which actually just tastes like sesame oil doesn't really add any heat if that's what you're looking for.

Everything was delicious!!! Must try the crispy chicken, cooked to perfection! Service was great too.

HiroNori is famous for its ramen. It was one of the hot days and we were near by the place, so we went there. We ordered light dishes, but not Ramen. When we arrived there was no one sitting at the front desk. We entered our name on the screen and were waiting to be seated. No one came! Then a group of young men came after us. They were waiting, then they went in and chose their table. We followed them. It took a while until we had a waiter at our table to take our order. We got the following; -Cucumber Crab salad 4/5 -Eel tempura bun 5/5 Steamed bun, tempura eel, pickled onions, and cucumbers. The eel bun was flavorful. -Vegan gyoza 3/5 It was crispy but oily. -Large pork rice bowl 5/5 pork chashu slices, rice, spinach, green onion, with poached egg. The amount was generous. It was the highlight of the meal. -Small salmon poke bowl 3/5 Salmon, quinoa, rice & kale. The amount of rice was huge but the bowl had lack of flavor. The service was slow. We didn't see any waiter at our table to fill our cups with water or ask us if we need anything. We had leftover, and I was looking for a waiter to ask for a box. They were busy chatting in the kitchen. The Gratuity service was 17% and it was hiddenly included. Stopping here was a mistake and I don't think I will repeat it.

Came here with my partner for a dinner date and we had such a great experience! It was a quiet evening and we were seated right away. This was my second visit and my partner's first, so I was really excited to come back and order the Shoyu Ramen again. The broth is rich, flavorful, and delicious--I could honestly just drink it on its own. I'm not the biggest fan of the meat in that specific ramen, but the broth more than makes up for it. My partner ordered the Chicken Ramen and the Tonkotsu Ramen. He really enjoyed both, especially the meat in his ramen compared to mine. The crispy chicken stood out--it was extra crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and super fresh. I love it with the sauce, while my partner preferred it without--either way, it was amazing! Service was wonderful. Our server was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. They serve fruit-infused water (watermelon, mint, and lemon), but since I'm not a fan of watermelon or mint in water, I asked for plain tap water. Without hesitation, the server brought it right away, which I really appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend this spot! The food is flavorful, the service is great, and the location is perfect--it's in a walkable area with lots of shops nearby, making it an ideal date night spot.

I also don't like their chicken or chashu any longer and I always go with the tofu. Typical order for me is a Bold Ramen, Non-Gluten free, Go Green, Garlic's Best Friend, Give it a kick, with a flavored egg. If I'm extra hungry I will add extra noodles but their other appetizers such as their fried rice have never really wowed me, but hey, not for me. One thing that I do not get even though I am rating five stars is why they serve extra noodles immediately with your bowl of ramen. By the time you're done with your first portion of noodles, the second portion is a noodle brick that you have to pry apart in your bowl with your chopsticks. Ramen Tatsunoya handles "kaedama" wayyyyy better in the respect that it's to order and they bring it out almost instantly after you order it with extra green onions, wood ear mushrooms, etc. Tatsu definitely has the ability to pump out a bowl of ramen fast - so I know they could do this too with just a little extra care between front of house and back of house staff. Please consider it. Your customers ordering extra noodles will immediately notice a quality difference getting to eat fresh noodles!

AH-MA-ZING!! Brought one of our best friends from Hawaii to have lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. We…read moregot seated right away which was great bc we were all getting hangry. For appetizers we ordered the Takoyaki, chicken karage and our main dishes Deluxe Tsukemen x3. The Break down: Atmosphere: 4/5 They greet you as you walk in, which I sets the vibe. You're welcomed into a cozy apace that has some decorative elements even to the music choice. Reminds me of our trip to japan, which I MISS SO MUCH! The Food Takoyaki: $8.95. 4/5 Stars. - Comes in 5pcs with sauce and bonito flakes. I liked how the outside was a bit crunchy and inside was fluffy! Karage: $8.95. 5/5 Stars - Comes in 5pcs. The sauce was tangy sweet kind of like teriyaki sauce. It was crispy but still so juicy and soft. HANDS DOWN GET THIS! Loved it so much I could have a whole bowl Tsukemen: $22.45. 5/5Stars - If you aren't familiar with this, the broth is separate from the noodles. Its a different way of experiencing noodles. The broth is thick, creamy and flavor profile is on point. Inside of the broth there is mushrooms and pcs of pork. The noodles are cooked perfectly and also comes with pcs of nori, soft boiled jammy eggs and 4 pcs of thick chashu. Portion size lets just say they are generous and we all can EAT ^^, Kakigori (MATCHA) $8/$14. 5/5 Stars - Definite MUST! Its made with Japanese shaved ice, a very creamy soft cream matcha sauce and matcha powder! I cant tell you how good this dessert is. The wife is obsessed and one if the main reasons why we found this spot in the first place. Please try! Service: - Super friendly staff! They are quick to get our order and serve our meal. I asked for more limes for my noodles 2x and both times they were quick. Made us feel very welcomed and checked in on us on a regular, which also reminded us of the service Japan showed us once upon a time. Overall: We love this place and we keep coming back with new people to share this type of noodle experience. Check them out im sure you will enjoy it. Lets just say we drove an hour to eat this. You def will not be disappointed :)

The karaage had a solid fry, and wasn't greasy at all while being both crunchy and juicy. The sauce was a creamy and spicy and paired well with the chicken. The tonkotsu ramen was delicious although a bit on the sweeter side - the egg was very well marinated and the chashu generous and flavorful. - Tokyo set with tuna don (5/5): Also came with soba noodles, miso soup, and tsukemono. The tuna don had a generous portion of tuna and rice. It tasted fresh and was a simple and well executed dish that satisfies your cravings. The soba noodles were a surprise to me. I didn't expect the soba noodles to be in a sauce with a string sesame oil consistency and taste. It was refreshing yet a bit heavier as a result. I also love the variety of fish provided with it. Overall (5/5): Disclaimer - we came here late April. But this is a gem in Pasadena that we wished we visited sooner! The lunch deals have very generous portions for the price and we were super stuffed after. We also were quite impressed with the execution of the tsukemono which looked like canned vegetables mixed with mushrooms that were pickled together for an unexpectedly rich flavor. The vibes of the establishment are modern and tasteful, and we really liked how spacious it was. Service was also solid. Overall we hope to be back to further explore the menu!
