Scheduled a service after hours for my A/C that stopped working ended up paying $150 and my A/C stopped working again 10-20 minutes after the technician left. When I called in the morning to try and schedule an appointment and get a refund I was told there would be no refund given as work is not guaranteed. They also have multiple technicians working for them, however, when you try and schedule an appointment (e.g. 9am-11am) there is no guarantee the technician will show up during that time frame, I was just told they would show up at some point in the day. You may ask why I stayed with them, it's because the previous owner of my property had a contract with them. Now I'm locked in with this subpar service for a year. read more

Insult to injury - after the failed inspection I had to call 4 times to get this corrected - finally, someone comes...NOT ZACK, not anyone wearing a "Winter breeze" company logo - does 3 things and leaves. The inspection appointment gets rescheduled to 11/18/20 - and gets what...NO CALL FROM THE COMPANY NO - NO CALL FROM THE CITY, which leads me to the conclusion that the appointment was never set because the city doesn't miss appointments - whether were in a Covid-19 pandemic or not. The only person you will ever speak to is "Zack" a kid, that will give you the run around once the money is in the bag and never follows up to finish the job - THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO MANAGER, NO OWNER that you will ever speak to. If any one reads this - stay away from this company, Synchrony the merchant who approved the loan for the purchase dumped the company because of the numerous complaints, there is a reason for this. I called for them to check out why the air conditioner was not cooling down the upstairs. The repairman showed up with no mask or gloves on, very irresponsible during this pandemic (he tied a tee shirt around his face which kept falling off). He pursued to fix the condensation pump and was able to get it to work. However, he felt that if there would be a reoccurrence of the problem then the pump would have to be replaced. If he felt there was imminent danger of the pump malfunctioning, even though he said there was none in the truck, he could have gone to the warehouse to get one. Instead, he told me to "keep an eye on the AC".Needless to stay a few hours later it leaked through the ceiling into my downstairs living room and kitchen, and storage room next to the unit. I immediately turned off the unit and called the company who sent back the same repairman again without a mask or gloves who this time had a new pump which he replaced. He offered to call a restoration company that"works with ATC" and "there would be no deductible or anything out of our pocket" The next AM, the restoration company agent came and assessed the damage and said it would cost $1900.00. My wife and I have been loyal customers of Air Around the Clock for 11 years. We have paid for the maintenance agreement of $225 dollars a year. We paid for a new AC inside and outside (a complete unit) and bought it through them a few years ago. It is still under warranty. The coil got a hole in it and needed to be replaced. There was no charge for the part as the manufacturer covered that. We had a very nice, knowledgeable technician, Kennedy come in to replace the part. From start to stop of job was under 1 1/2 hours. The charge came to $650. 00. Wow! All for one and one half hours of work and picking up the part on the way to our home. I called the main office and the call was escalated to Suzy. I explain that we had been a customer of theirs for years and she could see that from our records. I asked if there was anything she could do on the price as we have been loyal to them for over a decade. She was not willing to budge one penny. I explained that there are other companies our there, but we have showed our loyalty to them and I would hope they would reduce the bill as I believed it was way out of line. She was not willing to do that and acted like they didn't need our business as "they have so many customers already". They will have one less customer once the maintenance agreement runs out. I went to Yelp, as I had never used it before, to let others know about the lack of loyalty which AATC demonstrated to me as an existing customer and their unwillingness to do what I believe to be the right thing. I was a salesman for years and always made sure that my customers were treated fairly and provided with the best customer service. If I felt that the customer deserved better, then I made sure they were taken care of properly and I made things right. There will be businesses like this that may be thinking that they are better than the everyday man and women, but I thank Yelp for the ability to let others know how it is. I am not the type of person to right reviews especially when things are handled incorrectly. I am the person who calls companies to tell them that an employee of theirs went above and beyond and deserves the recognition, so this is a first for me. (I did tell them that the technician, Kennedy was very nice, professional, did a great job.) I will be ending my relationship with AATC and letting everyone I know about the treatment and lack of loyalty I received throughout this experience. Gonna be looking for a new AC company. ATC installed a brand new unit in my home [RHEEM 410A], 3.5TON in June 2010. Ever since this installation we have had to call them sixteen [16] times for one reason or another. That is an average of 0.67 times per month. To put it in perspective, ALMOST 2 TIMES every three [3] months. In the past year, the longest it has worked was about 2.5 months straight until it -again- started going bad. ATC has replaced just about everything on this unit and, yet it continues to gives us problems. I am not pissed. I am outraged!. This unit is a piece of horse manure. Do not buy it!. As for ATC techs, I cannot really complain for, they have been able to restore service. But still and all, it does not help me and my family. read more

Hire at your own peril. I received in Fort Lauderdale and it took 4 visits for a simple service call for regular maintenance and unclog a condensate drain line. And after those calls the drain line is still clogged. Finally got tired of them and I fired them and got another service. They are expensive but worst they are incompetent with customer service that is non-existent and always trying to push for services you don't need. ATC installed an AC unit in June 2012, without asking they replaced a digital climate control to a cheap one that came with the Bryant unit. to date had to replace evaporator coils twice in 2013 and 2014, also a capacitor in July 2014 and the motor fan this week 2014. Only the first coils installation was covered. So far a 2 year A/C has cost me an additional $1000.00, ATC got $6750 for the AC. ATC always has one answer "we don't make the parts" but you sell them, you are responsible to make sure the product you are selling is reliable, it's a bad reflection on you , ATC. Mr Lang needs to spend less $ on commercials and spend more time in making sure the products he is installing are reliable! I went with a big company thinking they know and install reliable product but apparently they don't. No return business for good reliable AC's, bad product keeps a steady return business. BTW one service guy that came twice to my house is a jerk! ( I like to use other word starts with an A). My advice don't use Air Around the Clock. they will suck you try!!! read more

Air Around the Clock is a disappointment. I have been a loyal customer for years, but began to see a decline in their service about 3 years ago. I have my AC serviced twice a year and each year for the last two (2) years the service keeps getting worse.They spend little time to properly maintain my AC. Today was the final straw. I called last week to schedule an appointment. After explaining that my schedule was hectic, we finally agreed that I would be the first service call today and it would be early. It is not a good company to use at all, extremely pricey in terms of their labor rate. I recently had them come out to repair my AC, and was not happy with the price quote they gave me, just too high compared to the other AC companies I have used. The techinician, Dane-Roy can't articulate the difference in the packages he is trying to sell to me, and his supervisor, Brian, although very rude and said it in a very impolitely way, at least told me I don't have to call them for services even though I used them to initially install the unit. Our air conditioner broke down on Memorial Day weekend. The technician came out, charged a $200 service charge, and without even taking out a tool assessed that the fan motor was shot and we would need to replace it with a new one at a cost of $900. We call another company for a second opinion and they came out the next day, took out their tools and realized all they had to do was replace the $30 relay switch. Within an hour we had cool house. The Customer Service Dept. called today. When I explained what happened over the past weekend the representative actually started to laugh, said they would look into it and get back to me. My 2 year old A/C unit stopped working so I called them at the recommendation of my condo office. The tech who came by, barely looked at the unit and said that it needed a thermal expansion valve, whatever that is. The cost would be $895.00 The next day, I called another company who came by right away, and told me all that was needed was to add some Freon. Once he did that, the problem was solved. A/C Unit acting up yesterday, so called them to come out and diagnose. Tech told my wife that we had a freon leak due to a faulty coil, and that the repair would cost $1,800.00 (replace coil), plus $250.00 to add freon. Additionally, thermostat was giving off an error code, which tech was to look over; He couldn't figure it out. Given the cost of the estimate they gave, we called to get a 2nd opinion. Turns out there's no leak, and thermostat error code was a 5-minute fix. Cost was $75.00! What's worse, called Office to let them know and lady we spoke with too busy being rude and sarcastic to listen to what really happened. MANY ISSUES and many lies told to me from the office. After 3 guys (installer, tech and supervisor) still no one can even tell me what size air filter I need. The one given to me is too wide by about one inch. I was told by the supervisor the non-cooling could be my old thermostat (but it was a brand new one just installed with the AC). My old unit cooled my house at 75 (barely), shouldn't this new high-efficiency be more efficient and at least cool better at 75? If not 76? 77? Well, I was told to run it at 74! I was told the owner was coming out, only to be lied to again. Many lies. Don't waste your hard earned money here. I still have air leaking out of the top. My electric bill is going to be higher now because I chose this company. I had used them in the past and was happy. Not anymore. There is no reason I should have to call them after an install of a new unit, let alone call multiple times and have multiple guys out and the problem STILL isn't fixed. I'm elevating my complaint! My first experience with Air Around The Clock was when the original unit in my home died and I needed a new one. Air Around The Clock sold me a $6,000 unit. This was in 2008. I have also used AATC religiously every 6 months to maintain my unit. About 6 months ago, it stopped working. I called them and they explained that my warranty was over and that the blower would cost $1,050 to replace. I agreed to have it installed the next day. I had a construction worker over at the time working on my floors. He overheard the quote and told me it sounded very high. He called his friend who owned an air conditioning repair place. He came over, quoted me $500 and installed it the following day. About two weeks later I had Air Around The Clock over for my every 6 months maintenance. The service tech. told my husband that our unit was about to die and that we would need a new one. We explained that we had only had it for a little over 5 years. He told us that the life expectancy of air conditioners is about 5-7 years. REALLY??? That is complete bullshit! A few days later he mailed us a packet with a quote for a new AC. Let me guess...the service techs get a nice commission when they sell a unit. We are now using the same guy who installed our blower for half the price AATC wanted to charge us. Sadly this story started 6 years ago (2013) when AATC (air around the clock) installed a new AC system in my home that's never been able to cool my home. The AC unit breaks about twice a year and they come out and fix it. This past Nov 17th I called AATC because AC wasn't functioning properly. I told them I believed there was an electrical problem. The AC was throwing a code saying there was a problem with the system communicating with its self. The woman that answered their phone told me that if I bought their annual maintenance package I wouldn't be charged the service charge for them coming out to do the repair. I agreed to purchase their maintenance package. 11/19 tech came to diagnose the problem and said I needed a new circuit board and a new motor. I told him I didn't believe it needed a new motor but I did believe it could be a circuit board. He ordered the and gave me a written quote that included a service charge. I explained that I was told the service charge would be waved if I purchased the maintenance package. He said someone gave me false information. I called AATC and explained. Apparently the person that told me the maintenance package would include a service charge either lied to me or was mistaken. This was on 11/19. They assured me that they would refund the money for the maintenance package to my card. THEY NEVER DID. I CALLED THEM ABOUT IT AT LEAST 5 TIMES. EVENTUALY I HAD TO CALL AND DISPUTE THE CHARGE WITH AMERICAN EXPRESS BECAUSE AIR AROUND THE CLOCK LIES AND DOESN'T RETURN PHONE CALLS OR REFUND MONEY.On 11/20 Tech came out and installed circuit board. I told him not to replace the motor because I didn't think anything was wrong with the it. After installing the circuit board the AC came on and seemed to function properly. The AC motor sounded perfectly normal. I paid them $175 to install the protech control. I think its noteworthy that this part is still being covered under factory parts warranty. They paid nothing for the part and charged me $175 labor to replace it (they have replaced the same part several times already). The tech left and the AC worked for a few hours. I called AATC to have someone come back out. 11/21 Tech came back out. It was experiencing the same symptoms as the initial phone call. Tech was certain that it needed a motor. I told him I didn't think that the motor was the problem but if he was sure it would fix it to go ahead and install it. He installed the motor and THE AC WOULD NOT TURN ON. I heard him on the phone speaking with co-workers discussing what might be wrong with it. THE NEW MOTOR DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. He kept messing around with stuff and eventually got it to come back on. It didn't stay on for very long. 11/21 Different tech came out to try and figure out what was wrong with it. He talked about how they other guy didn't put it back together right then went out to his van to get some screws that were missing. He somehow got the AC to turn on and he left. I think he said there were some lose wires or something like that. It didn't stay working very long. 11/28 They were back out. That tech said he tightened up a lose ground wire and said the thermostat wasn't programed properly and wasn't communicating with outside the way it should. He got it to come back on and left.12/3 AC wasn't working again. I turned it off for a few hours and when their tech got here he turned it on and it worked perfectly. He noticed that there was condensation dripping on the circuit board that they had replaced on 11/20 and that it was damaged. 12/4 the same tech came back and replaced that circuit board again he also made something to shield the circuit board from water splashing on it. In summary, AATC charged me $225.00 for a maintenance plan sold under false pretenses and told me they would refund the money but never did until I disputed the charges. AATC charged me $175.00 to fix a circuit board that had condensation dripping on it because their initial installation wasn't don't correctly (they have replaced this board a bunch of times already and in hindsight its likely because water has been dripping on it). AATC charged me $220.00 to replace the motor and it didn't help or perform any differently then the one the motor they took out. I disputed the $225.00 maintenance fee sold under false pretenses and thanks to American Express getting involved I received that money back. I'm disputing the $220.00 they charged me for the motor that did not fix my air conditioner. I did not dispute the $175.00 they charged me for the circuit board because I assumed that was part of the problem. Its been working properly since the last guy Steve fixed it so that water isn't dripping on it anymore. The people that installed the AC almost 6 years ago shouldn't have left it susceptible to water damage. read more

Don't use this company in an emergency! I have a service contract with them, and for routine maintenance they have been fine. But when my air conditioner broke over the weekend, I called at 8:30 in the morning and told the lady I have a 95 year old lady on the house, and need my air fixed ASAP. She said they would prioritize it and because it was an emergency service call it would cost me $150 even though I have a service contract. I said that was fine just please get it fixed right away. At 11 a.m. she called back and said the technician would be here between 12 and 2. I wasn't happy about that but I reiterated that I have an elderly person in the house and it's extremely hot outside. At 2 still no technician and now it's 86 degrees in the house. I called the office and asked where the technician was and she said he was held up at another job but he would be at my house shortly. I asked what shortly means, and she said within the hour. I told her that I am paying for an emergency call and I didn't consider waiting 5 hours an emergency service response. She said well we only have so many trucks out on the weekend... Contacted Air around the clock 2 days ago about repair services and I was told they would "Try and find an available time and will call back" never heard from them . Called them back and spoke to someone and they informed me that they canceled the appointment ( didn't even contact me and tell me there w as an appointment ) because the card got declined . I asked why didn't they contact me or my landlord and they said they tried calling me ( no missed calls ). Lady on the phone put me on hold to check the status of the payment and she came back on the phone telling me that they have to hear from my landlord and immediately after she said that she stopped herself and said that the payment was made then told me they don't have any available appointments until Monday. Also spoke to the repair guy and he didn't even let me finish my sentence and tells me he is only working half a day today so he doesn't have time when I was waiting from 10am - 12 pm and did not receive one call from anyone . This company cannot keep a promise to do their work. We called to get an inspection of our duct work and they sent out their estimator to scope the job and plan a date for the work. I had to call them the day it was scheduled to be done only to be told that there were more important jobs planned for the day. After going back and forth with them to hold them accountable they came out only to say that they cannot do the job. They scheduled for another day which came and went with no one to show up. I called to speak with the supervisor only to be told again that other work for that day took priority. I have had an installation date set up for today for a couple of weeks. Arranged my work schedule around installation for today. Up early this morning waiting for their call. At 9:45 am I called them to ask for an ETA. After keeping me on hold for 10 minutes, a guy named Doug got on the line and said, "There is no way I can do this job today." When I asked why he replied he had four sick calls from crew today. He said they will definitely be able to do the job tomorrow, then wanted me to pay them over the phone today. Can you imagine? They wanted me to pay them for not showing up, and they didn't even call me! I had to call them. I told them I would pay them in full when job is done. Now I'm thinking I shouldn't have this company do the job at all! Especially after reading the previous reviews here. $5,495 is a lot of money to feel like you are gambling with it. read more

Air Around the Clock was notified many times to stop sending advertisements etc. Today, I received a post card reminding me of service due. First of all my service is not due until the end of April. Second of all as the owner knows it is a lier and bad tempered person. He also knows I would never ever want Air Around the Clock to touch my air conditioner after my negative experience with them two years ago. They intentionally installed an air conditioner unit with a part they know had to be replaced and upgraded. This air conditioner froze up on me in the middle of summer not more than 4 months after installation. I tried many times to get them to respond to me but they ignored my requests. I was not at all surprised to see the 2 1/2 star rating here. Back in April I had them out to check a problem with my AC unit. They said It was freezing up because my particular Rheem (bad manufacturer) unit had a common issue with a part. And although the replacement part is under warranty they are charging me around $700 to replace the warranty part and put my system back in working condition. After the work was performed the tech asked if I wanted to buy a maintenance program as I will be needing the lines blown out every six months. I asked if it was okay that I call him in 6 months when it's time for the first maintenance and he said that would be fine. Well, here we are only three months later, the AC has froze yet again and they wanted another $195 to fix it. They said the line was not blown out last time as the issue was the coil. Are you kidding me??? The issue was the coil that was causing the freezing and after $700 you didn't blow out my lines, nor tell me you didn't do all the work?? Unacceptable!! Bought two new units from them 10 months ago. Have had mine flushed twice in less than a year due to leaking. Right size filters 16*20*1 do not fit properly in the filter box and air blows to the outside as the compartment can't close appropriately. Still under warranty but they do not want to change filter compartment. Wanted me to order customs size filters through them for $150. These guys are a joke. They do not care about their customers, just trying to up-sell or have you upgrade. Do yourself a favor and don't do business with this company, they will not stand by their job. I called AARTC to check out my ac, it would not cycle below 69 degrees. A tech came out, removed the cover from the air handler and showed me mold on the evaporator unit and said it needed to be replaced, then we went outside to the compressor unit, he took a panel off and put his hand on the compressor and said it was "too hot", indication that my condenser coils were deteriorated and said I needed a whold new ac unit, $3000 worth. My invoice says "no cool, continuoully runs"......but it did cool, I never said it does not cool. The invoice also said " high discharge pressure", but the tech NEVER put ac gauges on my unit to check this.....I was with him the whole time. I feel I got suckered into a whole new ac that I did not need when all I needed was to have the evaporator coils cleaned (which I asked him, and he said it would not help much). Horrible and Dishonest... They installed a new system and then less than 1 year later said the coil was leaking, they charged us to install a new coil. Once that was in the leak started again, they came back out charged us to fill up the Freon and said the leak had to be in the wall and wanted to schedule construction guys to start the demo work that week. I have never dealt with such a terrible company during my time in South Florida. I would give them negative stars if it were possible. I had an issue with my AC unit that is under warranty. Not only did they try to charge me and lie about my warranty, they were disgusting and rude on the phone. Ann Marie is a terrible excuse for an employee, and she should learn some manners.
