They partner with Hawaii Energy and gave me $150 off instant rebate for maintenance cleaning both my indoor and outdoor units, which made their rate very competitive compared to all the other company quotes. Cleaning day I was notified in advance when the technicians were on their way. The 2 technicians were professional and came on time with their company KK air conditioning truck and van. They were both very nice and patient with my 2 curious toddlers and dogs. The cleaning work was phenomenal, and both indoor and outdoor units were squeaky clean when they were done. 3.5% fee for credit card payment and received an email invoice receipt. On the day of the appointment, we noticed the two technicians were consulting with someone on the phone. We found out later it was the owner of the company. Long story short, they were confused about the drain lines and had to spend additional time "unclogging " them ( which we were charged for). We paid over $500 for this "service"! We were grateful for what we thought at the time was their due diligence and thoroughness. I even wrote a very complimentary review on their website. Fast forward to August 31, 2024 when we discovered a leak originating from the upstairs ceiling. The origin of the leak was an overflow of the drain pan from the air conditioning unit because the drain was not working properly! I immediately called KK air conditioning to let them know and Keith the owner came out. He informed us that the installation of the condensate pan was improperly installed (this is not true because this is not a new installation and we have had it assessed by two other AC companies since then and they did not mention improper installation) which caused the leak and that the technicians cleaned out the secondary drain because the primary drain was difficult to access as it was underground?!? I asked him why weren't we told this at the time since we're not the air conditioning experts and he replied, "they're just technicians " . Keith felt he was doing us a BIG favor by not charging us a fee for coming out to check on this problem. The cost for the damages of the leak was over $53 thousand dollars and took 3 months to resolve. Our homeowners insurance was increased 278 percent for 5 years!

Rates were reasonable compared to charging it. Prices were also very reasonable based on the market. I ended up going with Daikon. You can also choose from other popular brands like Mitsubishi. They can find any brand you want for the most part. Ilya the main serviceman who installed my equipment in my living room and back family room. I want to be sure house stays cool during the summer. I have yet to budget for my upstairs split AC units. But I will highly consider Fuse! One of the other employees who came to help I believe his name is Daniel. He usually services the AC with cleaning but he helped Ilya with the removal of my old split AC unit. They also hauled out the old units! Super awesome! Employees are happy and work efficiently. Price point is also fair. There may also be rebates available for certain energy efficient AC systems. I need to add a photo of back living space and units outside. But I was happy to see they also provided the plastic stand for the confessor fans to sit on the exterior of my home.

They came back with a proposal of $35,000. After reviewing the itemized estimate, I immediately advised her to get additional quotes. One line item alone was $1,660 to install four hose bibbs (spigots)--something she never requested. There was no discussion about adding new hose bibbs or performing related work throughout the house that would justify this charge. For context, hose bibbs are inexpensive parts (around $5-$10 each at The Home Depot or similar retailers) and typically require minimal labor. We obtained two additional quotes from other plumbers: $4,500 and $3,900 for the same repair. Based on this experience, the pricing from Steve's was extremely inflated and concerning--especially given that the customer was an elderly homeowner. If you consider getting a quote from Steve's, I strongly recommend getting multiple estimates before proceeding.

My apartment had recently suffered multiple unidentified leaks this past year that has been a…read morenightmare to navigate. I first messaged Mike and other candidates in 2025 when I was gathering quotes for an insurance claim that ultimately got denied. It was very clear that Mike and the team have great workmanship from the photos - this is coming from someone who's seen great drywall work and extremely poor work that I could do better myself. I could tell right off the bat that these were the guys I wanted to work with. The proof was in the "mudding" as I changed scope to account for materials, budget, level 4-5 finish, and paint finish quality. Having to pay out of pocket for an expense I anticipated someone else to cover was a bit of a concern for my wallet. Mike was patient with me and we worked out a price we could agree on by removing items from the scope that might still been in good condition and limiting the amount of work that needed to be done on a bump-out wall next to my shower. John texted me soon after we agreed to move forward and scheduled the work for the following week. He also suggested a change in material (DensShield) from what I had originally requested (blueboard) and I am so grateful to have skilled/experienced teammates to work with that really know what they're doing. Day 1 was demolition, hanging, and mudding. John was finished and out before lunch and I could already tell that the quality of work was spectacular. You couldn't even tell the ceiling was repaired because it was blended in perfectly with the surrounding area. The bump-out wall was looking way better than it was even prior to the water damage. We left the fan on throughout the day and overnight to let the hot mud dry out. Day 2 was sanding, priming, and painting. Fortunately, I purchased and stored paint that was specific to my bathroom from a previous repair and had it at the ready this time around as well. Honestly, when I first discovered the leak, I originally planned to fix it myself so I also had a brand new container of primer. I'm pretty satisfied with the work, especially with the DensShield suggestion and installation in both affected areas to account for future leaks. I didn't know such product existed and the workmanship mudding a material such as DensShield and it essentially coming out nearly flawless is pretty impressive. Overall, I would give Mike's team a solid 9/10. Prompt responses, flexibility in materials/scope, and great quality of work. The quote, as some have mentioned is on the higher side compared to other candidates I'd spoken with, but I learned the last time that you get what you pay for. Could I have gotten it cheaper? 100%. Would it have come out as good? Not sure. The last guy I hired at maybe half the price got the job done, but clearly not done well and that's what got me in this predicament, SO... don't cheap out if you can help it - especially for a bathroom or high-moisture/high-risk area. I'm certain I'll be working with Mike and the team in the future and there are no regrets here as compared to my last drywall adventure. Thank you Mike & John for your patience and hard work.

I live out on the west side so Tammy was the closest to me. I put out a "Project" inquiry which was sent out to Tammy and a few other businesses as well, and Tammy was the first to respond! We set an appointment and the rest was history. Tammy was very personable and listened to my needs. Very knowledgeable about tailoring and you can tell that, business aside, she genuinely loves doing this. I appreciate her professionalism and patience with me. Her turnaround time was quick, but I'm sure that depends on what services you need. Pricing was reasonable, I definitely feel like if I had gone somewhere in town I would've paid way more. As you can see in the before/after photos she did a PHENOMENAL job! The green dress was just a tadddd bit long for my liking so she hemmed it to the perfect length, same with the brown dress! And for the brown dress, I asked her if she could turn the leftover fabric into a scarf and, just like magic, she did!!! THANK YOU, TAMMY!

You can get more valid information reading negative reviews than positive ones. This is a good case in point for the Aire Conditioner Shoppe. I purchased a split unit from them in 2014 and in 2015 started having trouble with noise caused by vibration. For the next 3 years the technicians attempted to solve the problem, but were never able to. Service calls were spasmodic and controlled by Neil Weidemann, the owner, a real jerk to deal with. This month he apparently decided to quit servicing the unit entirely, although it is still under warranty. He informed me it was my responsibility to contact Fujitsu to address the issue. Fujitsu General America disagrees with Neal, indicating it is his responsibility. Virtually all of the negative reviews here address Neil's belligerent, insulting, unprofessional, DGAS attitude. The good reviews talk to the tech guys, Monte and his crew, and I agree. Give them even more credit for having to put up with Neil. My two last and final conversations with Neil resulted on his hanging up on me. Reading Neil's previous responses to negative reviews shows how he deals with them, and I expect the same will come from this one. I was the bad guy, I was wrong, he was the victim, too busy to deal with the issue, did all he could to address my concerns, I was unrealistic, dealer of the year, yada, yada, yada. Don't believe the B.S. Read the negative reviews. They are an accurate picture of this jackass and how not to do customer service. Also, when you get to the bottom of the 3rd page click on 12 other reviews that are not currently recommended for more insight on Good-luck-with-that Neil. And...if you Google "complaints against Aire Conditioner Shoppe" you'll continue to get consistent comments about yelling, rudeness, hanging up, etc. Would be nice if Monte would start his own contracting business and compete; he'd have all his business in short stead. The Air Conditioner Shoppe is a thorough, well staffed, NO NONSENSE, bottom line, bottom price, top quality business. I've been a homeowner and resident of Hawai'i for over 30 years. It's rare to see a long term business that does not rest on their successes here in Hawaii. I know that because on Friday August 14, 2018 I had 3 Mitsubishi Split a/c units installed in my two story town house. Neil runs a tight ship from his years of experience in his business here in Hawaii. I got an estimate from Neil that I thought was too good to be true. Neil's estimator was a jovial professional guy that laid out all the alternatives for my install. After getting estimates from two other companies, I quickly realized that Neil and his Air Conditioner Shoppe are in a higher league compared to the other central Oahu companies that I solicited. The crew of 5 experienced techs led by Brutha Mike arrived at 8:15, started promptly at 8:30, and finished the job shortly after 3:00. Every single tech was polished and polite. They worked together like a well coordinated team seamlessly handling their individual roles on the team. In true form the finished with a patient walk through of the system functions and tips on my concerns with controlling my system away from home. I personally am Leary about overly glamorized reviews. I limit my reviews for that very reason. But in this case, Neil, Mike and crew are the real deal. Don't hesitate to get an estimate from Neil. He takes pride in giving you the best bang for the buck compared to the other shops in town. I am a satisfied customer and I personally endorse this review :-) read more

No need to look anywhere else! I conducted a very thorough research of all the split HVAC system installers on Oahu based on reviews and BBB surveys, this is the company of choice! I spoke with Neil about replacing my split air conditioning system which was damaged due to water damage within my condo. Neil assisted me with proper insurance paperwork and once I gave them the thumbs up! He scheduled a date for install and Monte/Mike and their crews showed up on time and quickly installed all the A/C units and compressors with no problems. The next morning I notice a water leak, contacted Neil, and he had people on site that afternoon and the issue was resolved! I would like to say that my experience with the Aire Conditioner Shoppe has been a pleasant experience from first contact to the installation of the AC equipment into my home that I am currently enjoying while writing this review. I received a courteous prompt response to my inquiry about replacing the old window unit AC equipment with new split unit AC equipment into my home. Kua the representative from the AC Shop came out had a look and within a day I had a quote that covered equipment, installation, and removal of old equipment. Out of 3 quotes, Aire Conditioner Shoppe came out comparable. I liked the fact that they had an in-house electrician that could do the job which was factored into the quote. Other quotes required your own due diligence to get an electrician to do their part for the install. A team came out and installed 3 outdoor and 4 indoor units within half a day. The lead was very accommodating to what I needed. I told him I would be replacing all the window trims so he was able to work around that idea to make the install work. Any issues they ran into, they brought to my attention which they had recommendations for. Definitely recommend this business for any HVAC work. read more

On Thursday one of my split AC units stopped working. I called the Aire Conditioner Shoppe, who I purchased the unit from. Monty walked me through some troubleshooting steps with out success. On Friday I received a call to inform me the repairmen would be by my home that afternoon. the men showed up about five (on a Friday) made the repairs in short order. Each time I've had AC issues I've contacted the Aire Conditioner Shoppe with complete satisfaction. Reliable, knowledgeable, and friendly. the Aire Conditioner Shoppe will always have my business. TOPNOTCH AC Installers. Called multiple a/c shops, including those w/ TV ads, and no one came close to their price and quick scheduling. Neil (owner) is straight to the point professional, an Army Veteran. No sales talk, no hidden fees, and will not waste your time. By Thursday morning, my new Mitsubishi was up and running! It was supposedly going to be done in December or January but apparently, they had a last minute cancellation (after going to the site) so I guess since they had a whole crew with no job, I was moved up!! Alex and crew came by within an hour of a call from owner Neil. They took down and took away the old unit, and quickly installed the new one using the existing hole and drain. It is offset from center because the new unit is narrower, but it was either that or drill a new hole in the wall. Afterwards, they cleaned up nicely and helped put my furniture back! Very happy with the result! I know the warranty is for 12 years, but my Sanyo lasted 30, so I'm hoping for the same luck with better maintenance on my part. As for Neil and some of the negative comments here, I think people misinterpret his straight-forward talk as rude. I personally like it if someone just tells me straight and not beat around the bush! To me, he was very friendly and helpful. Not sure if he remembers, but the AC Shoppe installed my old Sanyo 30 years ago because they happened to be next door to where my wife worked. They did a really solid job, and the quality of their work shows. Rostin was super easy to work with, very responsive, and accommodating. His team made the HOA approval process simple with the detailed installation packets they provided, which saved me a lot of time. For our rental,…read morein 2025, John initially did the walk through with me and we decided on how he was going to run all the lines and where I wanted all the units. Day of intall he showed up with a crew and electricians. It took about a day, it was a big job, difficulties of installing due to attic location and where I wanted the outdoor unit. At the end of day our tenants were enjoying a 36K outdoor and 3 indoor units to supply cooling to their living room and 2 bedrooms upstairs. Fast forward to May 2026, I had another project for him. Again, we did the initial walk through, where I wanted everything to go and how he would hide all the lines in the attic and only the one line from the 42K outdoor unit going up the wall. Again he came with a crew of 4, including himself and an electrician and within half a day, we had a 42k outdoor and 5 indoor units cooling 1 living room, 1 den, and 3 bedrooms. He mounted all the remotes to the walls and cleaned up all areas they worked in. Each time I need an install for anything I always call John.

One reputable company quoted me $1,100 for the same scope of work--using a comparable LG 12,000 BTU (LW1222IVSM) unit.
