Because of the unusually hot weather, they were swamped and could not come out for 3 weeks, but when they did, they did a fantastic job. In fact, they got the job done 3 days early and made arrangements to do so with my tenant - unbeknownst to me. Before making a large purchase like this, always get quotes. The $585 less that Midway is a lot of money to save!

One of their techs, Ryan, tried to troubleshoot with me over the phone and when we couldn't figure that out he came out to our house a few hours later despite not having an appointment available until the following week. It ended up being a very simple fix luckily. This was above and beyond if you ask me. Last year, they rescued us from a dying furnace over Christmas and then installed a new heat pump. They really went the extra mile for us, lending us nice space heaters and even fixing the grade of the previously uneven, divoted ground along the wall where the outside unit is, which gave us the amazing bonus of reducing moisture to our basement wall. They just noticed the issue and put in the extra labor to make everything nice. This year, we discovered that our bathroom fan had no duct and just vented into the eaves behind the knee wall of our old house. So, we needed to add a duct and vent to the exterior. We were also having moisture problems in our kitchen due to a lack of a range hood. Our stove is on an interior wall and there is a built in, heavy plaster hood over it. So, Ecoheat devised a plan to add a new hood vent and run ductwork through the plaster hood and a soffit to the exterior wall. Once again, we had a wonderful experience with Ecoheat and they did a stunning job. The owner, Thomas, is personally involved in the details of complex projects and has an amazing memory for our house and us as people. He really makes you feel like a valued customer. The office manager, Deven, is also a pleasure to work with and makes everything run like clockwork. Ecoheat coordinated the electrician so we didn't even have to think about that. The employees seem to stick around for a long time which I think speaks well of the company. Really poor communication all along, which made what follows all that much worse. Took them over 7 weeks to get the part and return, leaving the home unable to be cooled during the heat waves. After about week 6 of waiting with little to no information they finally admitted that they hadn't successfully ordered the part. They then ordered the part, got it in a week, and fixed it. Despite the problems - all on their end - causing a 7 week+ delay they then sent me a much larger-than-seemed-fair invoice for their time (part was under warranty). Sure doesn't seem like this is the same family-run locally respected business that they had a reputation for. Maybe being bought up by Midway Mechanical in 2023 (which is the "roll-up" arm of the investment firm The Midway Companies) has something to do with this? Just guessing.
