This review is in reference to a Carrier 5 ton performance heat pump system. I'll start with how easy and fast was to set up and appointment and have someone come to my house to check out my current system. The process and the amount of information they provided allowed me to make a decision quick, price seemed reasonable and payments options were great. The whole process took less than a week from consultation to installation, could have been even faster but I chose a different date for the install. We called on a Sunday for our AC that suddenly wasn't blowing through the vents. We had cleaned the return, and done some prelim investigating prior to the call. Being that these next few weeks are supposed to be extremely hot, when what the manual said didn't work, we made the call. Mike Ball showed up, early which was great. We chatted for a few moments about what was happening. Once we turned on the unit, his initial diagnosis was the capacitor on the blower motor. He quickly tested it and it was at zero. He indicated that he'd start there, and if that didn't work, he'd go into diagnosing the mother board or the blower fan itself. Sure enough, that was it. Mike noted a few things that were not to current code, and offered to bring us up to compliance. He tested several other things, to give us a healthy expectancy of our unit. When I told him, "we like to fix what we can, and replace when we need..." he agreed and told us he didn't think we needed to replace it yet. He gave us 3-4 really good maintenance tips for the furnace and the AC unit, which was so helpful. To be honest, I was nervous that it was going to be a huge expense. Mike was so funny, and told me some cost breakdowns, as well as gave us a Veteran discount. He not only understood our position, but did as much as he could for us with 1 charge. I appreciated his candor, his honesty, his professionalism and how many tips he gave us. He was here about 45 minutes, which included verifying veteran, & accepting the payment. We felt as though the money we spent with Airmaxx and Mike was absolutely worth it. If anything happens, Airmaxx will be our first company we bid for replacement. This company is far and away the best! Replaced AC unit and they were significantly more affordable than other bids for the same exact equipment. Their installation people are very professional and did a perfect job. We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and needed some last minute ducting work and they not only did it immediately after installing AC but did it for a very reasonable cost. We have had our AC for the past eight years. It was brand new when we bought it in the house in 2017,and we never had any maintenance done to our system. I had an issue with the AC over the past several days where it would intermittently turn off and on and not run continuously. I decided I need to call an AC repair service to fix the AC and also do some maintenance. I found Airmaxx on Yelp here with some great reviews, so I decided to give them a try. The technician came out, and his name was Gilbert Cortez. He was awesome. Gilbert was very friendly, courteous, professional, and even was kind enough to put on shoe coverings when walking around on the inside of our house. He wanted me to come outside with him to look at everything in our AC system as he checked it, so I could learn about it and how it was working. After going through and explaining the different parts and the different measurements that should showing on his instruments, we decided to replace a couple components. He got my AC working great again, and I'm so very thankful! Gilbert you're awesome! To his boss: He needs a raise! The Airmaxx crew replaced a leaking evaporator coil and recovered as much refrigerant as they could; given it has been leaking for months. It was in a very tight spot in the ceiling crawlspace, requiring the crew to move the AC ducting to get to the unit. They also made changes to accommodate the condensate pipe or pump (can't recall). Spent over 4 hours making sure the job was done correctly. When they finished, they reviewed the entire job, including pictures of the work, and explained what was done. This also turned out to be the most inexpensive of the 3 quotes I received. A team of 5 guys came in one day to replace both heating and air, along with replacing duct work in the attic. I initially called them out when my A/C stopped working during the hottest period of summer 2020. Both ASI and Anderson ASSURED me I needed to replace my entire system. I had been using ASI for about 10 years and thought I could trust them. I was desperate for a quick fix and they knew it. I had never heard of Airmaxx before then, but their technician was confident all I needed to do was replace the blower - still not a cheap fix, but well under $1,000 and obviously way better than the $10-15k I was looking at for a new system. 5 years later the system is still running smoothly!
