Five Stars is definitely not enough for Alex and AirMaxx. His persistence in making sure that he solved my problem was over the top. I had SDG&E came to my house to perform a gas check on all my lines and appliances. They told me that I needed a new thermocouple for one of my furnaces because the pilot light would not stay lit. I checked with Williams and they told me they only make/keep parts for their units for 15 years and that the part was unavailable. :(. So I searched the internet for the part and called various companies. While most said the part was unavailable, two companies said they could get it so I paid them for the part but after several weeks they admitted that the part was unavailable. Next I started investigating replacing my non working furnace and getting some quotes. While I did explain my dilemma about the unavailable thermocouple required to get the pilot light to stay on to each certified HVAC company I called in San Diego, they all said they also could not get the necessary part and gave me prices on a new furnace. All, that is, except Alex from AirMaxx. He kept contacting me and assured me he had the parts and could fix my furnace. In reality, I didn't believe him but he was very persistent and insistent that he had ANY parts needed to fix my furnace. So I made an appointment expecting to be disappointed. Instead I was flabbergasted and very surprised as, within 20 minutes, without putting in any new parts, he actually fixed my furnace using the old thermocouple, which, by the way, my contractor had thoroughly cleaned in his failed attempt to fix the problem. Unbelievably, he refused to charge me for getting my furnace working again. "I didn't do anything"!!!!!!!!!! was his reply to my ..."How much do I owe you?" query. Seriously? All in all I'm sure driving to my house and fixing my furnace had to take him at least 45 minutes. WOW. Talk about old time repairman. I don't know what more I can say and I'm still in awe. Needed help restoring my thermostat to a reasonable state, allowing me to control heat and cooling. Two years ago I installed an Ecobee thermostat that has given me nothing but grief. I fell for it because of the digital nature of the technology and an app that allowed me to control it remotely. But because of the Ecobee "comfort settings," it never allowed me to get comfortable throughout the house. Mike Ball, an HVAC tech from AirMaxx came by and, with his expert analysis we determined that the Ecobee was not the tool to achieve my determination of comfort in my own house. He installed a no nonsense, low tech thermostat that only requires me to set a desired temperature and then change the temperature or shut it off when I decide. Thought it was one issue but that didn't solve it, when the whole condenser had to be replaced they gave us the current rebates and discount automatically and scheduled right away during summer. Just know that if your a/c unit isn't the brand Carrier they won't help in finding out if your a/c is under warranty read more

Just had Alejandro stop by for what I thought was going to be a diagnosis of the issue. Our AC seemed to be working normal minus the cold air all of a sudden. He had me turn the AC unit on and within a mere few minutes already knew what was up. Grabbed a few small tools, opened up the unit and confirmed his suspicions that a battery/circuit thing on the compressor was the culprit. I had a two-year contract that included 2 A/C visits and 2 heating visits. I was on my last visit, which was the A/C. Mike was my service tech, and he was amazing. I have never had a tech give me so much wonderfully helpful pointers and tips. He has an incredible wealth of knowledge because he has been at this for so long. Mike did the inspection and told me I needed a part replaced. He showed me the meter readings so that I saw that there was a problem. He did not do any kind of hard sell.
