Had an issue with my furnace. Alex at Airmaxx gave me a quote that was fair and a lot lower than another place. He fixed it and all was well...until it wasn't. The issue came back a few days later and a different guy at Airmaxx came and found a new issue. Now, there was a problem between Airmaxx and myself at first. This was the same issue but now it required a different part than before. I asked for a discount, reduced rate, anything as a show of good faith since it was the same issue. I shouldn't have to pay full price for labor twice. The guy said no. BUT, Alex reached out to me afterward and wanted to make it right. He agreed I shouldn't have had to pay full price, twice. He offered to replace it for free. I told him I had no problem paying but perhaps at just a reduced rate. He said no. He'll do it for free. Moral of the story is Alex and Airmaxx really care about customer service. They'll make sure the issue is fixed and that the customer is satisfied. We chose Airmaxx for our furnace purchase/installation due their good reviews and because they were a Carrier dealer. The sales and installation process went well. A bit of a language barrier with 2 installers, but they were good. I'm only giving 4 stars as during the sales process we specifically asked if we could pay by credit card, and the sales associate gave us the impression we could. After installation they would only take cash. Called the office to no avail. We had to write a check for over $6,000, which was inconvenient. So, in summary, good vendor, but be prepared to pay cash post-installation. read more

Airmaxx was absolutely wonderful to work with. Their competition quoted more than double (which I think they were overcharging, I'd been pricing furnaces) Airmaxx had offered to give our furnace a temporary fix which was very generous, but we decided to hire them and do a replacement of our 36 year old furnace. Airmaxx came for a quote the same day on a Friday and his crew was at our house the next Tuesday. They even improved some problematic duct work to make things even more efficient than before. They're prices were fair and they were very reasonable with the additional repairs needed. They gave us a few options for installation without being pushy with our decision. They were commutative over yelp, e-mail and phone. We got a good quality furnace and Airmaxx modernized the connection as well. We're super happy with the service and can't wait to be able to get an AC one day. Airmaxx also installed my parents furnace and AC and they were also happy. Definitely recommend them! read more

Had to call again as our problem came back (same problem, different cause). They were available same day. Ryan took care of us this time. He cleaned the sensor and did a full inspection and didn't charge me anything. What I like about this company is that the techs are very thorough and they communicate well. They explain everything in layperson's terms and are very fair. It's now on my calendar to have Airmaxx out for an annual inspection later this year. read more

I have 3 reasons for giving Airmaxx 5 stars. 1. I called Airmaxx this morning around 10 AM because our AC was not working. The very nice lady who answered the phone, took my info, put me on hold for less than a minute, and then told me that a technician would be at my house between 11 AM and 2 PM. So, 5 stars for office support. 2. At 12:30, Edgar showed up, and within 10 minutes diagnosed the problem - failed capacitor and somewhat low refrigerant. He had the part on the truck and the proper refrigerant to top off my system. Thirty minutes later our AC was working better than ever. So, 5 stars for perfect, timely service. 3. Edgar was easily one of the most knowledgeable and pleasant technicians I have ever encountered. He let me watch the whole process and explained what he was doing. Being a DIY kind of guy, I really appreciated that. He didn't try to up-sell me anything, and he was completely transparent about the price. I own and operate a very small part time service business. Ozzy troubleshot and repaired my FAU with a new transformer (This is after I had messed everything up with trying to add a new thermostat and not following the directions.) AC failed on the hottest week of the year... Had 1 company come out and they were super professional, knowledgeable, friendly and great customer service. They did a whole diag, checking voltage, fuses, check the board, camera peeping through the furnace, etc.; couldn't resolve. Provided a quote for a traditional 2 stage and to replace attic ducts and insulation. Wanted a second opinion. Called Airmaxx, and fortunately for me, Alex was 10 minutes away from my location. Upon arrive, from a distance, looked at the furnace, and knew exactly what the issue was, and in 5 minutes, cold air. Asked if I wanted to talk to his rep about a new system. Wasn't pushy or anything. I said yes even though I didn't have to since it was fixed but the system is the original when the house was built. It didn't hurt to get a quote. Met with Bradley, straight up, nice and chill person. They provided a quote for a 2 stage hybrid system (heat pump + furnace), and to replace my ducts to R6 in the attic (not the insulation), and rewired and moved my thermostat to a new location. Overall fantastic service. Nit picking, suggestion for an even better customer experience 1) Provide a little more communication around time when the crew was expected to come. 2) A little more time toward clean up of debris at the end and be a bit more careful on removing ducts and equipment (marked up the paint on wall) but am very thankful to the entire team, speed, and overall process. Airmaxx replaced our 50 year old HVAC system with a new system that works so much better and more efficiently. Also dropped a split system in a room addition. They did the entire job in one day and were so careful to ensure no floors were scuffed or any debris was left anywhere. My upstairs AC wasn't blowing cold air and we were burning up last night. I called several companies before reaching Airmaxx and they are the best! The first 2 companies wanted a $99 deposit before coming out, the next company said that they would have someone call me back (still waiting) and I got a vm on another. When I spoke to Airmaxx, they told me that they would be there by 2-4pm the same day. They actually showed up 30 minutes early to my delight and replaced the capacitor that was not working. I had high hopes using this company to repair my AC unit. The yelp reviews looked great so I decided to call them. They immediately scheduled a technician to diagnose the problem the very next day since it was extremely hot during that time about 3 weeks ago. He was very professional and courteous and said I would need a whole new AC unit and that I would get a quote for replacement in 1 or 2 days. Needless to say I still haven't got a quote from them even after I reached out to them twice now. I've never had to reach out to a company to ask for business and it's just for a quote that should take only a few minutes. read more

Jeffery called before hand to let me know of a cancellation, but unfortunately I had a meeting and he showed up at our scheduled appointment. I walked him through the house, showed both HVAC systems and explained what was wrong with the upstairs unit. He knew right off the bat what it was. He did a thorough inspection and sure enough he was right. He quoted me a fair price for parts, labor, and servicing of both units. I was beyond pleased with his upfront honesty and diligence to get the job done correctly and within his quoted amount. I had the pleasure of having Alex (owner) come to my house to provide my with estimate to update my furnace, add ac, and provide new duct work (whole package). His estimate was competitive to the other 3 quotes I got based on the following. Price - competitive but not the cheapest Warranty - upfront 10 years of parts and labor (It felt good to know a company can offer this) Package included a smart thermostat and new registers. The ac provided was a slim line that fit on side of house very nicely The install was a great experience, there were 3-4 guys working on my house from 8am and finished by 2pm. I did not expect the project to complete that quickly. My wife and I are very happy with Airmaxx and should there be any concerns I feel confident to be taken care of by this company. Just had our entire heating and AC system replaced by AirMaxx, and couldn't be more satisfied. The day it went out they showed up to check things out. Unfortunately, our 35-year old system couldn't be saved. But, they made us a great deal, and upgraded it to a hybrid system that allows us to make better use of our solar panels. The guys came the next day and had the whole system in place and working within 5 hours. As always, with older homes they ran into a few challenges and had to add some new parts. I crossed my fingers and said a prayer a few weeks ago that my old broken-down tired Lennox would eek out another year of service but alas she just couldn't give us anymore. She was exhausted. She ran with a massive hole through her side for about the last 10 years thanks to my Boston Terrier thinking she was a toilet. I'm pretty sure the Lennox was vintage late 80's early 90's. She was an antique! A weeklong hot spell was upon us. This was on a Saturday. I called AirMaxx and Cory Edwards came by within a few hours and tried to revive the poor girl, but she just wasn't having it. She was rusted out and leaking god only knows what. She was done. There was no question in my mind I was running on Borrowed time. Cory wrote up an order for an entirely new system. He set me up with a Carrier Heat Pump and new furnace, so I have the option to heat with Electric or gas. It's all pretty cool. He scheduled my install for the very next Thursday. Just 5 days. I was so nervous something would go wrong, and it would be delayed but Thursday morning the AirMaxx team was here at 7:45 (early!!!) ready to go. They pulled that junk out of the attic, put all the new stuff in and had the old Lennox in the street (I gave it a little funeral it served me so well) in just a few hours. They were done just a little after noon. I'm very happy with the new system and the amount of energy it is saving me is shocking. I have solar but I never run negative when the A/C is running. HVAC stopped blowing. Made appointment with Airmaxx on Yelp for next day. Tech, Jeff Berg, arrived on schedule and quickly diagnosed the problem. Needed a new control board which they either had or managed to get quickly as Jeff was back next day to install and test the system. I had Airmaxx come out because I had an old heating system in a mobile home not working. The tech took one look at the unit and said they couldn't fix it because it was too old and even if they could fix it they wouldn't be able to order parts. He proceeded to tell me the only option was to install a mini split. I felt a bit pressured as he wanted to book right away, get a $200 deposit and said if I didn't book right away he couldn't guarantee the unit would be available. So I did. After talking to my tenants, we decided that the several thousand dollar cost was unreasonable especially since they didn't even try to see what was wrong. I cancelled the order the next day and the owner called wanting to know why I would possibly cancel the order since the mini-split was supposedly the cheapest anyone could get it for. I didn't appreciate my decision being questioned and having to answer to them. Especially since I already lost my $200 deposit. Called another service company who charged $75 to come check out the system. They figured out the problem, and fixed it for less than $200. So even having lost my deposit with Airmaxx, I saved lots of money by cancelling and will never recommend Airmaxx. Since I never had work done, don't know if they are good at what they do. But be prepared for high pressure sales tactics and don't be surprised if they quote you a new system without actually trying to troubleshoot first if you have an old system. Update to 4 stars: So since I posted this review I had the owner reach out to me. He claims that the person that was scheduled to check my system was a sales guy not a repair tech and for some reason they thought I was calling for a new system. Not sure how they would have gotten that impression since I called to see if my heater could be repaired. But instead of playing he said / she said I'll tell you this: The owner did return my $200 deposit. So though I still would not personally use them, I can totally respect that the owner returned the money. I wasn't expecting that to be honest. He seems pretty committed to having his business have a good name. read more

I installed new thermostats and tripped a fuse that I could not locate easily so I posted a request for help on Yelp. I got several responses however, Alex at Airmaxx left me a message to call him and he would help walk me through the process of locating and changing the fuse. Alex helped me on the phone for close to 60 minutes and he solved my problem! He would not take payment so I decided to write this review which I'm very pleased to provide him! From the initial sales call to the final test and clean up these guys were amazing. I highly reccommend this company and this team. I have a two zone system, and went with the Carrier Infinity 24 system. It's a killer system! I am really pleased with the entire process! See some pics below. I had been looking for a new HVAC system for over a year, and had a couple established AC companies out to look at my system and do a quote, but neither really clicked. After doing some more looking around, reading YELP reviews, and getting a lot more educated on heat pumps, I called AirMaxx in El Cajon. I got an appt. the next day, and Sam came out. It was so clear that Sam knows HVAC inside and out. He took his time with me, answered questions, made recommendations, and then I picked out a couple products that I wanted him to quote on. He went back to his van, and in 30 minutes put together a detailed quote and presented it to us. By the time he sat down, he had all the pricing worked out, including manufacturer and government rebates. He never tried to "up sell", but was careful to recommend a system that would meet our requirements. When we asked about time to install, he'd already called around and located all the components. We signed a contract, left a deposit, and ten minutes later he calls with an install date just two weeks out. The, the next morning he called and said he'd be able to move up the date a week if we were ready for it. So our install was only about a week after we placed the order. On the day of install two trucks and six guys show up 10 minutes early, and they get out of their trucks and stuff just starts happening. I give the crew leader a tour (Vitroli??) and he discusses a few details of the install. By the time we are done with the tour, they have already laid protective cloths on the entire work path, and all the new equipment is out of trucks and being unpacked. Three guys work in the attic, and three guys work on the outside. By 10am all the old equipment is disconnected and out, and by 11:30am all the new equipment is in place. It takes about an hour to get all the fluid and electrical lines hoooked up, but by 12:30 its all hooked up. They install the thermostats and give the system a good testing, both for heat and for cool. They triple check everything, and meticulously pack up and clean. At 1:30 they are gone and I am writing this review. The entire crew was polite and easy to have in the house and yard. Very respectful. Again, I recommend this team and company. read more

We worked with Ilija from Airmaxx and we were very impressed. Ilija did a great job communicating all the issues and factors in replacing our older (1996) AC/furnace units. He was prompt and responsive to any questions we had, in person, via text and phone call. Replacing an AC/furnace unit is a big (!) expense, and we wanted to be sure we were well informed. We got several bids, and ultimately chose Airmaxx. They replaced our unit with the highly rated Carrier brand and back up their work with a 10 year warranty on Parts, Labor and the Compressor, and a 20 year warranty on the heat exchanger. AirMaxx installed my Ecobee thermostat back in July 2023. The install rate was fair and they did an excellent install and helped with the set up. The thermostat stopped working December 2023 and Alex was super fast to have Alejandro the service tech at my home that morning. He found the thermostat had failed. Alejandro came back that afternoon and helped with the replacement and to make sure everything was working. I highly recommend AirMaxx and will call them first with any HVAC needs. Had them over to quote a new system because I had been told (by another company) that the compressor unit was bad. As a courtesy, the estimator gave me a second opinion on the state of the compressor unit. After hooking up his gauges and diagnosing, he told me that everything pointed to a bad TX Valve, not a failing compressor. Long story short: I had them replace the valve for a fraction of the cost of a new unit. It works like a champ again! Airmaxx could have just sold me a new unit for 20x the cost of the valve replacement, but instead did the right thing and gained a lifelong customer in the process. Can't recommend these guys enough! My system is 20 years old, so it will definitely need to be replaced in the near future. When it comes time, Airmaxx has the job. read more

Short notice repair needed. Spoke to owner 6pm Friday evening and they had a technician at the property by 8:00am Saturday. Broke down the situation clearly making it clear that the troubleshooting / repair would go sequentially in an ever increasing cost, with quotes, with the probability being the least expensive repair would address the leaking water from the AC system. They got it, repair took less than an hour and AC up and running. Price was very reasonable especially given the response time, it being a weekend repair and technician also concerned of forecasted San Diego weather 24 hours later. Recommend. read more

Our entire HVAC system went down after SDG&E had some trouble updating the powerlines. Unfortunately, it was during the middle of the summer in the midst of a heat wave as it goes. Immediately upon reporting that the AC was down to our landlord, she gave them a call and Cory Edwards came out the next day. Alex is amazing!!!! My heater was not working. We spoke over the phone and with his help, he determined it was just a wiring issue that could be fixed easily. He walked me through the steps and in less than 10 minutes my heater was fixed. Most A/C repair companies would have charged hundred of dollars to make a visit and fix this. I know, I've been there before but Alex was friendly enough to help find out the problem and actually spend time on the phone on a Sunday with me and help me fix the small wiring issue. I have to get better at finishing reviews in a timely manner. Having said that, the service and experience I received from Airmaxx was stellar! So towards the end of last summer, my thermostat (an older Ecobee that came with the condo when I purchased it in 2017) decided to stop working. This was during the time when it seemed like it was ridiculously hotter than usual. My wife, little Junie (our dog) and I tried to roll with the heat for as long as we could, but finally broke down and decided we had to do something about the situation. That's where Airmaxx comes swooping in to the rescue. I believe I corresponded with them initially through Yelp, and was very pleased to hear back and find out that they were able to see me on the Saturday which was only several days out! I told them that I had my own equipment I purchased off Amazon, and they said no problem. The weather was crazy hot so I knew that they were extremely busy. Come Saturday, the tech came out on time. Unfortunately I forgot the gentleman's name, but he was great in all aspects. Friendly but doesn't talk your ear off, very very skilled at his craft of HVAC and electronics. He ran some tests using a multimeter to confirm that the Ecobee was the issue, and then proceeded to uninstall it, mount a new supplied mounting plate, and install/configure our new Google Nest thermostat. I want to say he was in and out in no more than 30 minutes. It's been six months since Airmaxx came through and both heat and a/c are working flawlessly. After I had a bad experience with the last HVAC company I used, this was definitely a breath of fresh air and a company I would wholeheartedly recommend!
