I was calling around to different companies to try to find someone who could come out the next day (Sunday). I called Airmaxx, and they didn't answer, and because it was 3pm, I didn't leave a message because I was in a hurry to call other places before everyone closed for the day. 11 minutes later, they called me back because they had missed my call. That was a very good business move, because it made me choose to go with these guys. The next morning, technician Sam came out. He was on time, very knowledgeable, very friendly, worked efficiently and was done with the job within the appointment window. When I was shopping around for a new mini split. Amongst all the companies I ended up choosing AirMaxx because of the value and knowledge they showed me during one of the visits I had. We had an issue with one of our 20 year old HVAC unit called Airmaxx and made appointment for service. Ozzie from Airmaxx came to do a service visit. He was able quickly diagnose that the capacitor on the unit was dead and needed to be replaced. He also checked the capacitor on our other HVAC unit and found that capacitor would fail soon. Ozzie went to pick up two new capacitors, returned, and replaced them promptly. Our AC unit stopped working a few days ago. Since it is over 22 years old thought it was time to replace it. I reached out to several companies via Yelp and had three of them come out to provide an estimate. Two of the companies provided estimates to replace both the AC unit and furnace. Sticker shock since I was not planning on spending lots of $$ to replace my AC and furnace this year. Last appointment was with Airmaxx. Gil was the technician that came out. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and takes pride in his craft. I was totally floored when he said that he could troubleshoot and fix the problem!! It just confirms my suspicion that these companies spend so much on fancy trucks and advertising and you will pay for that. I have never experienced a tech visit more thorough than when Gilbert from Airmaxx came over to fix our heating system. First of all, I called this morning and got a same day appointment. I received a call from Gilbert 15 min later to confirm his arrival. He arrived on time, put on booties on his shoes to protect our floors, and immediately dug in to diagnose the issue. He explained everything that he was doing and the WHY behind it, to educate me. He ran a few tests and figured out the issue and was so patient while doing so. Most techs I've encountered are inpatient, don't like explaining things, and are quick to move on to their next job. After fixing it, I was elated-- but, Gilbert said he has a "rule of 3." Meaning, test it out 3 times before confirming it works. While we tested it out, he also gave us advice on how to mitigate risk of anything going wrong in the future. He provided advice for specific air filters while asking if anyone in our house has had allergies or asthma (our daughter has severe allergies), he provided advice on maintenance of the system and the proper cadence as well. It's rare to find someone these days who truly care about fixing problems, preventing new ones, educating the customer, and having patience while doing so. I am a customer for life because of him. I'm impressed! I had over 5 different bids on my house for an entire new HVAC system that included a new mini split system for a room above my garage. These guys were not only the best price, they also came with the most efficient solution, for the price, for my house. They were so fast! My job was a big one so they threw a larger crew at it and still had it knocked out in two days. I usually don't write reviews, but I'm compelled to give a 5 star rating for the great service for my AC system. The technician, Ozzy, arrived within the promised time frame and did a complete diagnostic to determine the problem. He determined that the condenser fan motor and the associated electronic controller needed to be replaced, which are very expensive parts. We determined that the AC unit was still under warranty and he suggested that I call the company that installed it and they should repair it under warranty. Contacted Airmaxx to look at our air condition units. They were able to schedule for the following day. Ozzy arrived during the appointment window. He immediately identified the problem was a bad capacitor. He walked me through the diagnostic process, showed me what he was looking for, and how he proposed to resolve it. I noticed the little detail of writing today's date on the capacitor for future reference and cleaning up the unit for us before he left. We also had issue with the drain for the AC, and he helped us identify the issue and taught us how to fix it ourselves. His friendly personality, willingness to share his knowledge to empower us to take better care of the unit ourselves are very much appreciated. My AC abruptly stopped working on a hot Friday night. I called Airmaxx on Saturday morning and they were able to get a tech to my house within a couple hours. Gilbert was very helpful and identified and fixed the issue quickly. It ended up being a simple fix for the moment, but he was very honest to give it to me straight and show me that the fix may last for a while, but my system is old and on its way out. Our AC went out, and we ended up needing to replace the evaporator in the attic (A-coil with plenum). I got three quotes including Airmaxx. I dealt with Karina (admin), Gilbert (consultant), Bradley (his supervisor), and Alex and Roman (installers). The whole experience was seamless and rather impressive (I realize I am a demanding customer with high but realistic expectations that are often not met). Upon my first call, Karina was able to fit my schedule to get Gilbert out to quote the work (I had previously troubleshot and determined the problem with a friend in the industry). Gilbert recommended a different more reliable brand of evaporator, and even had some suggestions to improve my AC's efficiency that I could do on my own. I later fact-checked the information he had provided to ensure it was correct and it was. After being provided a competitive quote by Gilbert, his supervisor, Bradley, followed up the next day to make sure they were offering the best value quote and that all of my questions had been answered. I proceeded to have Airmaxx replace the evaporator. Installers, Alex and Roman, arrived on time and worked diligently to replace the evaporator. They were friendly and were able to answer all of my questions about the install. They did a great job, with the only improvement that could have been made being the evaporator could have been better sealed along the seams and connections (this is something I did afterward to ensure our system is as efficient as possible, with very minimal cooling loss in the attic). Overall, I would definitely hire Airmaxx again, and believe they provide a very good value and service. Oh, I almost forgot. They also had the best warranty. We'll, I can't imagine a more positive experience to a scary situation! It's Saturday, and the A/C has not been cooling well for a couple of days while we've been out of town. Our Ecobee thermostat sent me an alert saying the temp is going up even though the setpoint is lower. I call Airmaxx at 11:45AM and our tech Ryan was in the area and able to come right away. By 12:05 he sends me a picture of the A/C electrical panel that was actively burning (picture below)! Even though the system is older, he knew he could replace the panel, capacitor and refill the Freon for $850, so he went right to work! Now I KNOW all the fantastic YELP reviews are legit! Our 20-year-old air conditioning failed in the July heat wave. We obtained a quote from a big HVAC/plumbing company that wanted us to replace the whole air conditioning unit plus the furnace. They asked for more than $15k. I found Airmaxx on Yelp because of its excellent reviews and reached out to them for a second quote. Alex came out for an evaluation the same afternoon. He replaced the transformer, replaced the definite purpose contactor and recharged the refrigerate to the industry standards. All these things were done in the same day for 1/10 of the price from the first quote. We learned a lesson that day. Do your research to find reputable companies. Try to get multiple quotes/opinions.
