Wow! A SUPER GOOD wow! (Because not all "wows" are good... Bad "wows" are a thing too. Like "Wow, that OTHER heating & air company is awful!) We chose AirMaxx because of their very high Yelp ratings/reviews. And I was right to do so! The tech named Cory actually called to see if he could come by a bit EARLY. "Heck yeah!" He arrived looking sharp and acting super polite/personable. He put me at ease immediately. He LISTENED to my explanation of the AC system's behavior, and then he wisely used his expertise to prove or disprove my "theory." We got a Carrier HVAC installed for the lower level of our house because the previous owner only had air conditioner for the upstairs. In the summers the lower level would get hot and sticky and fans weren't cutting it. My husband called Comfort Consultant, Gene. He was professional, friendly and knowledgeable about what we needed. Our fan hasn't been working properly for two years and I had questions about our air cleaner as well. Their technician Gilbert came out today. He was very thorough, explained the problem well, fixed the issue and charged a nominal amount for the call. He also made a few suggestions for improvement but did not push to sell us anything. Gilbert showed us that our fan was not working because it had been disabled within the system. Obviously we didn't do that. We have used a well known San Diego HVAC company with three initials for many years. Two years ago we had them do an upgrade to our system. He also showed us where there was tape over the latch that it supposed to keep the system door closed, which is a safety issue. Glad to have found Airmaxx. read more

I was impressed by the five star reviews for sure, but now that I have had the service I can add another five star review! Sam was amazing! Airmaxx just replaced our 15 year old Rheem central air conditioner with a Bosch Hybrid Heat Pump system and Carrier furnace. The old system was installed by a local HVAC one or two person company never worked reliably and needed a lot of maintenance. I decided to replace it. Sam from Airmaxx, who has done previous repairs on our system, recommended the Bosch Hybrid Heat Pump system, and after researching it, I found it to be one of the most efficient and reliable available systems today. Sam put together a proposal that was clear and inclusive of everything, including an Ecobee thermostat and all available rebates for this energy efficient system. Installation was done in one day by an Airmaxx crew of three that were very professional. The workmanship was very neat and they left the area cleaner than when they arrived. We upgraded our furnace to a hybrid heat pump system last year. It is not always perfect for a new system to work in an old house. After tuning up several times the heat pump system works quite and efficiently in our current home. This company is good at what they perform. They have very excellent service attitude which is valuable. We don't expect all problems can be solved in one shot so the good service provided us very happy experience. Our furnace stopped working on a very cold night this past week. I called Airmaxx and got an immediate response and the technician Sam came out within two hours of my call. Sam evaluated the situation and determined very quickly what was wrong and replaced the capacitor which fixed the blower. Sam was honest, informative, and professional. He told me the three possible scenarios for expense, and for fixing the furnace. He educated me about the furnace function, and the components that could fail. In only two hours he was able to disassemble half of the furnace and replace the capacitor and reassemble all the parts. Their competition quoted more than double (which I think they were overcharging, I'd been pricing furnaces) Airmaxx had offered to give our furnace a temporary fix which was very generous, but we decided to hire them and do a replacement of our 36 year old furnace. Airmaxx came for a quote the same day on a Friday and his crew was at our house the next Tuesday. They even improved some problematic duct work to make things even more efficient than before. They're prices were fair and they were very reasonable with the additional repairs needed. They gave us a few options for installation without being pushy with our decision. They were commutative over yelp, e-mail and phone. We got a good quality furnace and Airmaxx modernized the connection as well. We've been in our home for 8 years and never thought about having our heater inspected/tuned up. Airmaxx had good reviews on Nextdoor and yelp so I made an appointment. Gilbert was on time and gave us great advice on a couple of things we could do ourselves to keep our old heater running in good condition. We went with a hybrid system that included the heatpump and gas furnace both. This solution, to us matched our price and performance needs. Airmaxx provided 3 options. First they suggested swapping our exact historical equipment with similar equipment. Second, they suggested the hybrid approach (similar lower price compared to the historical equipment). Finally, they suggested all electric and two zones. This last option was much pricier and based on our estimated timeframe in the home, we elected not to take it. They installed 100% brand new equipment. They price matched competitors which gave me superior equipment at the competitors price. Finally, we had new ductwork installed as well. All-in-all they did a great job. I'm happy with the end result. They had a team of 4 people at our home and completed the job in 1 day. Good communication and attention to detail. read more

We chose Airmaxx for our furnace purchase/installation due their good reviews and because they were a Carrier dealer. The sales and installation process went well. A bit of a language barrier with 2 installers, but they were good. I'm only giving 4 stars as during the sales process we specifically asked if we could pay by credit card, and the sales associate gave us the impression we could. After installation they would only take cash. Called the office to no avail. We had to write a check for over $6,000, which was inconvenient. So, in summary, good vendor, but be prepared to pay cash post-installation. read more

I have 3 reasons for giving Airmaxx 5 stars. 1. I called Airmaxx this morning around 10 AM because our AC was not working. The very nice lady who answered the phone, took my info, put me on hold for less than a minute, and then told me that a technician would be at my house between 11 AM and 2 PM. So, 5 stars for office support. 2. At 12:30, Edgar showed up, and within 10 minutes diagnosed the problem - failed capacitor and somewhat low refrigerant. He had the part on the truck and the proper refrigerant to top off my system. Thirty minutes later our AC was working better than ever. So, 5 stars for perfect, timely service. 3. Edgar was easily one of the most knowledgeable and pleasant technicians I have ever encountered. He let me watch the whole process and explained what he was doing. Being a DIY kind of guy, I really appreciated that. He didn't try to up-sell me anything, and he was completely transparent about the price. I own and operate a very small part time service business. I had the pleasure of having Alex (owner) come to my house to provide my with estimate to update my furnace, add ac, and provide new duct work (whole package). His estimate was competitive to the other 3 quotes I got based on the following. Price - competitive but not the cheapest Warranty - upfront 10 years of parts and labor (It felt good to know a company can offer this) Package included a smart thermostat and new registers. The ac provided was a slim line that fit on side of house very nicely The install was a great experience, there were 3-4 guys working on my house from 8am and finished by 2pm. I did not expect the project to complete that quickly. My wife and I are very happy with Airmaxx and should there be any concerns I feel confident to be taken care of by this company. I had Airmaxx come out because I had an old heating system in a mobile home not working. The tech took one look at the unit and said they couldn't fix it because it was too old and even if they could fix it they wouldn't be able to order parts. He proceeded to tell me the only option was to install a mini split. I felt a bit pressured as he wanted to book right away, get a $200 deposit and said if I didn't book right away he couldn't guarantee the unit would be available. So I did. After talking to my tenants, we decided that the several thousand dollar cost was unreasonable especially since they didn't even try to see what was wrong. I cancelled the order the next day and the owner called wanting to know why I would possibly cancel the order since the mini-split was supposedly the cheapest anyone could get it for. I didn't appreciate my decision being questioned and having to answer to them. Especially since I already lost my $200 deposit. Called another service company who charged $75 to come check out the system. They figured out the problem, and fixed it for less than $200. So even having lost my deposit with Airmaxx, I saved lots of money by cancelling and will never recommend Airmaxx. Since I never had work done, don't know if they are good at what they do. But be prepared for high pressure sales tactics and don't be surprised if they quote you a new system without actually trying to troubleshoot first if you have an old system. Update to 4 stars: So since I posted this review I had the owner reach out to me. He claims that the person that was scheduled to check my system was a sales guy not a repair tech and for some reason they thought I was calling for a new system. Not sure how they would have gotten that impression since I called to see if my heater could be repaired. But instead of playing he said / she said I'll tell you this: The owner did return my $200 deposit. So though I still would not personally use them, I can totally respect that the owner returned the money. I wasn't expecting that to be honest. He seems pretty committed to having his business have a good name. read more

Airmaxx replaced our 50 year old HVAC system with a new system that works so much better and more efficiently. Also dropped a split system in a room addition. They did the entire job in one day and were so careful to ensure no floors were scuffed or any debris was left anywhere.
