He immediately identified the problem was a bad capacitor. He walked me through the diagnostic process, showed me what he was looking for, and how he proposed to resolve it. I noticed the little detail of writing today's date on the capacitor for future reference and cleaning up the unit for us before he left. We also had issue with the drain for the AC, and he helped us identify the issue and taught us how to fix it ourselves. His friendly personality, willingness to share his knowledge to empower us to take better care of the unit ourselves are very much appreciated. I usually don't write reviews, but I'm compelled to give a 5 star rating for the great service for my AC system. The technician, Ozzy, arrived within the promised time frame and did a complete diagnostic to determine the problem. He determined that the condenser fan motor and the associated electronic controller needed to be replaced, which are very expensive parts. We determined that the AC unit was still under warranty and he suggested that I call the company that installed it and they should repair it under warranty. I have never experienced a tech visit more thorough than when Gilbert from Airmaxx came over to fix our heating system. First of all, I called this morning and got a same day appointment. I received a call from Gilbert 15 min later to confirm his arrival. He arrived on time, put on booties on his shoes to protect our floors, and immediately dug in to diagnose the issue. He explained everything that he was doing and the WHY behind it, to educate me. He ran a few tests and figured out the issue and was so patient while doing so. Most techs I've encountered are inpatient, don't like explaining things, and are quick to move on to their next job. After fixing it, I was elated-- but, Gilbert said he has a "rule of 3." Meaning, test it out 3 times before confirming it works. While we tested it out, he also gave us advice on how to mitigate risk of anything going wrong in the future. He provided advice for specific air filters while asking if anyone in our house has had allergies or asthma (our daughter has severe allergies), he provided advice on maintenance of the system and the proper cadence as well. It's rare to find someone these days who truly care about fixing problems, preventing new ones, educating the customer, and having patience while doing so. I am a customer for life because of him. We had an issue with one of our 20 year old HVAC unit called Airmaxx and made appointment for service. Ozzie from Airmaxx came to do a service visit. He was able quickly diagnose that the capacitor on the unit was dead and needed to be replaced. He also checked the capacitor on our other HVAC unit and found that capacitor would fail soon. Ozzie went to pick up two new capacitors, returned, and replaced them promptly. Our AC unit stopped working a few days ago. Since it is over 22 years old thought it was time to replace it. I reached out to several companies via Yelp and had three of them come out to provide an estimate. Two of the companies provided estimates to replace both the AC unit and furnace. Had them over to quote a new system because I had been told (by another company) that the compressor unit was bad. As a courtesy, the estimator gave me a second opinion on the state of the compressor unit. After hooking up his gauges and diagnosing, he told me that everything pointed to a bad TX Valve, not a failing compressor. Long story short: I had them replace the valve for a fraction of the cost of a new unit. It works like a champ again! Airmaxx could have just sold me a new unit for 20x the cost of the valve replacement, but instead did the right thing and gained a lifelong customer in the process. Can't recommend these guys enough! My system is 20 years old, so it will definitely need to be replaced in the near future. When it comes time, Airmaxx has the job. read more

Our 20-year-old air conditioning failed in the July heat wave. We obtained a quote from a big HVAC/plumbing company that wanted us to replace the whole air conditioning unit plus the furnace. They asked for more than $15k. I found Airmaxx on Yelp because of its excellent reviews and reached out to them for a second quote. Alex came out for an evaluation the same afternoon. He replaced the transformer, replaced the definite purpose contactor and recharged the refrigerate to the industry standards. All these things were done in the same day for 1/10 of the price from the first quote. We learned a lesson that day. Do your research to find reputable companies. Try to get multiple quotes/opinions. Last week, the thermostat went blank and the AC stopped working in our condo. This week, I put out a few Yelp requests for this AC project and Airmaxx was quick to reply and very responsive. The kicker was they come out to service for free. Some other places charge, which makes sense but what if it's an easy fix? Scheduled an appointment with someone who reached out and Alex came out the next day. He called ahead to ask if he could come early and was very communicative and punctual. When he got here, he was respectful about asking if a mask was necessary (re: Covid measures). I have him the info I knew and he was able to check everything out and fix what we needed in a very timely, efficient manner. Price was reasonable for the efforts. At the end, he wasn't pushy and ended up giving possible options for optimizing our current set up. No sales pitch, no hard balling or making you feel bad for not doing exactly what the recommend, which many other companies do (in my opinion, annoyingly). If/when we move forward, we will 100% work with this company again and know we are in good hands. Fantastic service at the right price! I needed a "tune-up/maintenance" on my gas furnace and loved Airmaxx 5-star ratings. I got several quotes and despite having the highest rating, Airmaxx also had the LOWEST Price! They responded within minutes on Yelp and two days later their technician, Vladimir, called to say he was on his way, and then did a great and thorough job testing various components of the furnace, including heating elements and blower, some electrical specs, gas and CO2 leakage. He also replaced the air filter. Also, I noticed the insulation around the furnace was pretty dirty and asked Vlad if he recommended replacing it - which I would have done. But he said there was no reason to replace the insulation - it was a little dirty but still doing its job, so no need to spend the extra money!
