My husband and I had our new unit installed a little over a year ago, and we've been nothing but pleased with our experience and our new unit! Today, they continue to impress us with their customer service. A couple of weeks ago I went to turn on some accent lights in our kitchen (directly below the unit and ducting) and they did not work, so I replaced the bulbs and still nothing. Jeff once again proves that he is the man when it comes to HVAC. I am updating this review because the dude deserves it. Earlier this year we had him come out and take a look at our heater, which was shutting on and off. Within an hour he figured out the problem and the solution. And then, for whatever reason, I never followed through with it. Likely because in typical SD weather, it didn't get cold again and I forgot it. Fast forward 10 months and here we are with more "cold" weather. Same issue, same solution. Jeff was here on a Saturday, ordered the part and installed it on Monday. Our AC went out, and we ended up needing to replace the evaporator in the attic (A-coil with plenum). I got three quotes including Airmaxx. I dealt with Karina (admin), Gilbert (consultant), Bradley (his supervisor), and Alex and Roman (installers). The whole experience was seamless and rather impressive (I realize I am a demanding customer with high but realistic expectations that are often not met). Upon my first call, Karina was able to fit my schedule to get Gilbert out to quote the work (I had previously troubleshot and determined the problem with a friend in the industry). Gilbert recommended a different more reliable brand of evaporator, and even had some suggestions to improve my AC's efficiency that I could do on my own. I later fact-checked the information he had provided to ensure it was correct and it was. After being provided a competitive quote by Gilbert, his supervisor, Bradley, followed up the next day to make sure they were offering the best value quote and that all of my questions had been answered. I proceeded to have Airmaxx replace the evaporator. Installers, Alex and Roman, arrived on time and worked diligently to replace the evaporator. They were friendly and were able to answer all of my questions about the install. They did a great job, with the only improvement that could have been made being the evaporator could have been better sealed along the seams and connections (this is something I did afterward to ensure our system is as efficient as possible, with very minimal cooling loss in the attic). Overall, I would definitely hire Airmaxx again, and believe they provide a very good value and service. Oh, I almost forgot. They also had the best warranty. I called Airmaxx to check out the furnaces on our rental property. They had someone out the next day to take a quick look (less than 10 minutes) and provide a rough quote on what needed to be done. The technician was very knowledgeable and advised what we needed upgraded from an electrical standpoint as well in order to accommodate new appliances. I also called back a couple days later, they were very responsive and were able to answer all of my questions. First off I want to say I'm a little disappointed that air max declined to fix my Split fan system. I have an LG multi split that is less than five years old and is still under full company warranty. However, no one seems to want to work on a system that someone else put in and the original company who installed it.(AirPlus) refuses to work on it, and says they no longer service LG. Pretty crappy business practices but I digress. I'm giving AirmaxX four stars because of Gilbert .... The technician who came out. Great team, always very quick to respond and will help not matter what the issue is. I will say the real 5 stars goes to Gilbert C. He is amazing so do yourself a favor and ask for him! I called a week ago and the first rep that came out was nice but not nearly as detailed as Gilbert and likely why he didnt fully address the issue. After calling back a week later Gilbert was assigned and he talked through all the issues it could be before he even showed up to the property. Then he showed up and tested everything even know he was pretty sure it was my board that need to be replaced. 4 years ago Airmaxx helped us fix our a/c and happy to report that they are still consistent with quick, reliable service and reasonable cost. Mark was quick to respond to my service request today and Alex arrived about 1.5 hours later to help fix the a/c to replace the capacitor. He told us to wait for a few hours until the compressor cooled down, but he came back after helping another family in the area to re-check the compressor again and he confirmed it was working fine. Alex was amazing, after being called to check on our very old furnace, over 25 years, he discovered the circuit board was broken, but for some reason he could not get it to work the way it should. He had to spend two hours trying his very best, he did not charge me and offered for me to get a second opinion, which I had scheduled for several days later. Instead, he actually called me back to say he's researched it and has requested an opportunity to come back and see if he can repair it. His persistence and dedication was such a welcome breath of fresh air. So often technicians can take advantage of clients. He returned, fixed it appropriately and charged the original quote. Airmaxx sent Ryan to our home to inspect and service the AC. We have been in our house for a couple years and when Ryan looked at our system, it was obviously a dinosaur. Installed in 2004. Soooo who knows if the thing was ever "serviced". TLDR: We found a mouse that shocked itself to death. I said replace all the electrically for my peace of mind. Replaced everything, refilled Freon(who knows how long that thing has been running low, surprised the compressor hasn't died), washed the condensers, and had a really awesome civil conversation. Airmaxx replaced our a/c and heat pump one year ago year and it stopped working the day before we were going on vacation. The same day we called Gene he was able to come to our home and identify the problem. Unfortunately, he had to order the replacement part so he could not do the repairs the same day. He received the part the day before we came back from vacation (July 3rd) and actually came to our home on (July 4th) to complete the repairs. Alex from Airmaxx San Diego came to help us repairing our HVAC which was not blowing cold air. He inspected everything and found that wiring was all messed up in existing HVAC setup. He rewired it from scratch and also made sure to explain us what's happening. Our system is old but it was no problem for Alex, he knew exactly what to do and got our HVAC working again within short amount of time.
