well, it was going to be another Hot day...105 or more. Saturday morning, we both noticed the air wasn't as cool as it has been. I went outside to check the compressor and it was not working. We kept hearing like a buzzing sound and it was coming from the compressor. The company that installed our ac unit retired and another company took it over. So we called them. They said they would not be able to come out until four days later. I agreed but kept on calling. I called Patterson heating and air and had to leave a message. But, not to worry, right? It says the will return our call within three hours. I kept on calling. Next, I contacted Arctic Air. The lady that answered said she could have someone out later that afternoon, between three and five. Of course, I jumped on this. A couple of hours later, no, it wasn't Patterson, it was Arctic. They said a service team could be out there within a half hour...this was 2 and a half hours sooner than I was originally quoted. I wish I would have gotten a name...but the team came, I showed them what I thought was wrong and in 15 minutes...the system was working and they were gone. Now if this isn't service...what is? I called the first place to tell them my ac was repaired and wouldn't need them. Arctic told me that a four day wait was not out of line. And I understood this. I knew with the heat wave we were experiencing, there would be many households calling for help. Oh..and Patterson? They called two days later...and said that they were returning my call that I had made the day before....NO Patterson, it was two days before! read more

They did eventually take care of finalizing the permit for me like I requested. It took a long time with multiple attempts and I had to escalate this to the Better Business Bureau, the state licensing department etc in order to get their attention and for them to take care of this. If they had just taken care of everything right away like they should have, I would have updated my experience rating to 4 1/2 star. read more

The Heat Pump they installed never worked properly and they will not come to fix it unless I call them multiple times and they cannot fix the problems when they do come. The system now say there is a motor error. I reported the problem over a month ago and they refuse to come fix it. They seem to have no experience with the HVACs system they installed. read more

Mike and Jeff came out for a service call and took the time to help me understand how my HVAC works. They explained the system thoroughly and what options I had in terms of a solution. They were on time to the appointment and offered very reasonable prices. I also need to give a shoutout to the woman who operated the call center as she was very professional and timely in scheduling/confirming a service call. Appreciate the service technicians for wearing face coverings. The rationale for my 3 star rating is due to the price for a replacement thermostat. My heater was blowing cold air. Service fee is $65, which is reasonable. However, this company charged me $185 for a thermostat. I was not entirely sure if the thermostat was the cause of the malfunction and agreed to the price. This way, the thermostat can be tested. I could had purchased a thermostat from Amazon in the $20 price range. However, if the thermostat is not the problem, I would have to service my heater again. I strongly feel the price is overly high. I am not sure what other similar companies charge, but this is very unethical. I am very reluctant to use the company in the future. read more

Bad communication and half ass does the work correctly. An order was sent to them and they never called me to schedule! I had to call and ask if they were going to schedule me, she did for 9-11, it was 10:55 no show and when I called at that time she said the truck broke. I said you could have called me and said something. She was quick to say did I want to reschedule, mine you it was 106 outside, I told her no it's hot in this house. He finally came about 3. What he did, did not last. Now he has to come back he came yesterday just to say it did work well I have to come back tomorrow as he stood at my front door. I call today which is tomorrow and she set it for 12-2. Again 2:15 no show no call! I called for her to say he is running late again I asked were you going to call and tell me! they didn't over price anything(I got 3 quotes), they finished it in 1 day, about 3 days after I initially called. super professional. there was a slight issue with switching from cooling to heating but they had someone out in 1.5 hours and had it fixed in 15 minutes. My AC wasn't cooling enough, called the company and they came next day, before even doing diagnostics on the unit and just by looking at it, I was hit with a sales pitch that I need a new unit which will cost around $8000, Wow!!!! I swear I wrote a review but it is not here so I'll write one again... July 4th, 2014. We come home after a fun day of barbecuing and cooling off in the pool during the heat wave (100+ temperatures all week) to our house being almost 90degrees. Our AC had gone out, now we had had it go out a few times before because my husband fails to replace the filters on time and the fuses blew. So the next day we change the fuses and do other things we know how to do to try to get it up and running again, to no avail. We called a well known AC company in the Sacramento area who tell us they cannot come out for another 5 days (we have a dog with a heart condition so he cant get over heated and the forecast calls for 105+ weather for the next 5 days), we called a few other places before we contacted Arctic and they all told us similar things. To our relief Mike @ Arctic told us that he would be out in a few hours (he was really busy). He came out and did his inspection. He showed us a few things that needed to be done and pointed out which ones we could do later ourselves and which one really needed to be done now to get it up and runnin (the fan motor blew). So he goes and purchases only to find out that it needed to be overnighted, so he comes back bright and early the next day (Sunday) to put the part in. He also gave us instructions on how to fix the other parts ourselves, saving us some $. He also helped us set up the new thermostat (at no extra charge) we had bought hoping that would fix the problem (but it didnt and it was a confusing set up) I knew that we were in good hands. We have since moved and have a new home but plan on using him again in the future should we require his services. read more

I just found my new HVAC guy! Today is the hottest day so far this year (115 degrees)- I have my 8 month 3 week pregnant daughter staying with us and my air went out 9PM last night.... So grateful for Arctic! I called yesterday because my NEST was showing an error message, restarting it didn't work, and cold air was blowing out. Arctic was able to schedule an appointment for this morning which was extremely relieving. Two workers showed up with masks and booties, ready to help me out. They were able to diagnose the problem, reset a sensor and get my heat on within 30 minutes! They explained what the problem was and to contact them if unit stops again so they can replace the sensor. Best of all, they didn't charge me for today! I couldn't be happier! $450 to refill freon, never talked about being able to repair leak or locate the leak. Kept on pushing to replace AC for $7000. I don't like leaving bad reviews for small business. We all work hard for our money. That day was 105 degree, so I had to pay him to fix it that day. A/C started acting up again about a month later. After I paid him $450 for refill. Was referred by a friend to have another A/C guy to do the repair. He fix the problem and leak. Refill freon and only charged $175. The A/C has been working great for the last 3 years! I am not a fan of broken promises. I called Arctic Heating & Air this morning at 8:54am in an attempt to have a serviceman come out and take a look at my heating and air conditioning unit. A lady answered the phone and I mentioned I was attempting to find out if a serviceman was available today to come out and examine my unit. The lady mentioned she would need to call me back after checking with her serviceman in the area. After calling another company, the problem being diagnosed and on its way to being fixed (awaiting the part), I settled down on my couch and around 6:00pm REALIZED I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK!!
