Came for happy hour and it absolutely did not disappoint! We shared every app off the happy hour menu and they were each incredible. We have tried just about every place here in town and this is easily a new favorite. Staff was so kind and sweet and the ambiance was perfect on the patio. The prices were very affordable and I think we will definitely be back tomorrow night to try their dinner menu as well. Aja is above average Chinese fusion for the panhandle but the prices discourage repeat customers. I live locally and love Rosemary. For the same price I could visit any of the 5 star restaurants that aren't in a strip mall. The happy hour menu always looked appealing but the inconvenience of having to sit on the patio near the highway discourages us from taking advantage. The reviews are so hit or miss lol so I had to try for myself! Only thing I would NOT recommend is the veggie spring rolls, they are so much dough and no filling. I felt the food was over priced for what we got. I got the chicken and shrimp fried rice. My chicken was very tough and I only had two shrimp. I did not like having all the vegetables in there which were not in the description on the menu so I didn't know to ask to have them removed- expected more rice for a dish with rice in the name. The dumplings and edamame appetizers were good. Friends had been there previously and said it was good- however, some of them were with me tonight and agreed the dish was not very good. We had the same thing. Maybe it was a different chef or a bad night. Server was great, although I did have to look around and ask for someone to get my water refilled. I had such high hopes for this restaurant. Finally, some real genuine Asian food. That was dashed the second we walked in the door. We are local, and live down the street. We understand seasonality so we made sure to go in early. The hostess acted like he had committed 3rd degree homicide for not having a reservation. Amigos next door doesn't treat you like that. By the bar they had tons of tables with "reserved on them" which were actually not. How do I know this? Well we were sat at the bar and between the food and drinks being delayed, we sat there for two hours. Not a single table came in. Are you creating false demand? I mean I get the idea, but you need to have the food, drink and service to back it up. So silly they let 5 tables sit for 2 hours. I even went online and checked and there were open slots so the hostess just lied. Moving on. After the hostess got over the shock of not having a reservation (outside was wide open as was the bar) we sat at the bar. There were 3 bar tenders. We got our first round fast. My drink was one that needed to be shaken. I've never paid 19 bucks for a more Luke warm drink in my life. I should have sent it back, but the bar tender did not come back for 42 minutes. I clocked it. So my wife and I just put our drinks back. No water refills. Finally he came back and we put a second round in and finally our food. After waiting another 20 minutes we got our second round of drinks, I got a sidecar, and again, Luke cold at best! How can you charge that money when you can't even add the right amount of ice to the shaker to make it the right temp? I mean you can literally feel it as a bartender- I bartended for years in Tallahassee. Shake until you can't feel your fingers. Anyways, yeah, the drinks sucked. Now for the food. Mediocre at best. We made sure to try the sushi, a app, and two entrees. The sushi rice seemed like they pulled it from Publix sushi isle. Dry. Falling off. The app was the dumping and the portion was abysmal. Flavor was extremely lacking. Now for entrees, I got the king pao chicken after the server told me the pork belly "wasn't good" (nice touch) and my wife got the curry. It's curry. Hot do you make bland curry? I don't know, but Aja30a does. I get it, there's a ton of tourists and putting a little "spice" may be too much for these elderly northerners, but don't forget your local foodie base. They are what will keep you afloat during off season. Which leads me to my entree. The king pao. It was actually "decent" but it wasn't 30 bucks decent. It was Panda Express decent. Literally. I've gotten the same looking and tasting king pao from hole in the wall fast food Chinese restaurants. Overall my bill was over 250 for 2 hours of bad service, Luke warm drinks, food that took forever on a slow day, lied to, and ate bland/downright not good food. I love supporting local, and I get you're in a expensive location (I know how much rent is there thru another restaurant) but if you want to justify those prices, you need to step your game up. Everywhere. Oh, the inside had a nice ambiance. That's it. We won't return until we see improvement. If you want better food, that's cheaper, sushi rice so fluffy you could sleep on it, drive 1 minute down the road to Shaka and be treated correctly, served correctly, and actually enjoy your meal. Again I'm giving it 1 star only because the look, layout and ambiance was nice sans the hostess. I know the pictures "look" good, but when you're served warm drinks and cold food it really detracts. Just like the last restaurant that was in this location, if they don't pivot, they'll go under as well. read more

As always - our experience last night was nothing short of amazing. We usually reserve this place as our go-to date night. We haven't been in a couple of months but last night we got to try new items added to the "feature" menu. The brussel sprouts were the star of the show! Along with the Thai tea crème brûlée. I made it a point to tell the GM as well as Chef Matt that they needed to be added to the main dinner menu. We had such a great experience that we made it a point (while still eating) to make a reservation for New Year Eve dinner. My friend and I decided to try out the recently opened (NewYears Eve 2022?) Aja for happy hour / dinner last night. I had looked at reviews and was skeptical because of some reviews talking about the loud music and high prices. It is a bit pricey, but not more that most places on 30A. The food was DELICIOUS! The flavors of each dish were delightful and truly works of art. We chose several items from the $10 happy hr menu and one from the dinner menu as we were there around 5pm. The music was not in your face loud and for someone who is sensitive to loud or noisy places, I actually found it enjoyable and not so loud I felt I had to talk over it to be heard. We had fun interactions with the manager Armine who was delightful and filled us in on their concept and plans for expanding the menu and services coming up. The service was impeccable from the hostess down to our server. The hostess recommended a cucumber roll for our 8 year old which she absolutely loved. Coming from Atlanta, we have been wanting to check this place out as we loved going to the Aja in Buckhead. Unfortunately, the food was a major let down and everything was overpriced for sub par items. The ramen was pitiful. The broth looked like rice water and it tasted like it as well. We're accustomed to ramen from miso and jinya in Atlanta which I was hoping it was comparable to. The noodles weren't the right type either. The assorted sashimi was okay. They give you one piece of clam and scallop and cut them into tinier portions. For $48, I was extremely disappointed and let down. The drink menu could be better but it is what it is. Wouldn't recommend going back and would be better off going to a beach seafood restaurant. For a place that states it's elevated, the food does not reflect the title. read more

The only thing "Elevated" about Aja Elevated Asian is the price! I've had far better Asian food from local take-out places in strip malls. The sushi was okay - nothing special. The cocktails were pretty, but mine was really bitter. My daughter's fried rice tasted like someone accidentally spilled too much black pepper in it... and yet it still tasted bland... just peppery. The Kung Pao chicken had way too much sauce, and it was so rich I almost got sick. My mother's salmon was swimming in Miso soup - it was weird. Now add to this that the prices are basically triple what you would pay for better, non "elevated" Asian food. Typical 30A... mediocre food at ridiculously high prices. read more
