My wife and I have been eating at Caramba for almost 30 years. Obviously not this location but they're all good. I get there their nachos. Every time. I love nachos. Are the they best nachos? No. Are they very good nachos? Absolutely, but you have to ask them to use shredded cheese instead of the queso. Shredded cheese is objectively better than queso on nachos and how Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya originally made them over 80 years ago. (I literally just learned about him today) My wife always gets a chimichanga and loves them. Again probably a four star chimichanga. My absolute favorite thing about Caramba's? The Primo margarita. Oh. My. God. It's possibly my favorite margarita ever. They're a little too strong for my wife, but in my opinion, seriously one of the best margaritas I've ever had. It's probably best that we don't have a location closer to our house because I'd be eating nachos and drinking Primo margaritas at least weekly. It's a family favorite as well. This location of Caramba's has been my go-to place for many years. I always bring my family and visiting friends here for the casual ambience & great food. But last night I was mortified by the lack of service and embarrassed that I invited my friends to come for Taco Tuesday. I get it: 1 bartender on a busy night who got quickly overwhelmed and behind. And then couldn't catch up. So service was a failure. But when you have five older women who are so frustrated they are actually thinking of walking out on their tab? Ball has been dropped. We waited over 15 minutes to place our first drink order; waited for our drinks; bartender never returned so we ended up ordering our food in the other section; and then gave up on ever getting any more drinks. By the time I got my food order, which got lost on the line, the rest of my party had finished eating. Funny, when we started to complain about the lack of service? Our checks magically appeared which should have swiftly and politely have been comped. The food here is pretty good but it's not enough to bring me back. And that's unfortunate. When I was running restaurants we always put a premium on customer satisfaction and the customer experience. Our complaints about a lack of service should have swiftly been addressed with a gracious "you are right. Let us buy your drinks." Or "something." Anything. An apology. A recognition that "we could have done better." It's not the servers' fault, but they would benefit from strong leadership on busy nights. Note: after complaining they did cut our bar tab as some sort of compensation, which we paid along with what we paid for our food. I Hope management sees this and begins to ramp up staffing on their busy nights because it's not fair to staff. On busy nights you need a strong leader who is not afraid to take control - and expeditors! I also hope management empowers their onsite managers. Never been to a caramba, first time was good. Would recommend. Nothing crazy, but good. I had quesabirria- very tasty- but a little pricey for just the taco no plate of rice and beans. My bf had a carne asada burrito which was really good. Tasty tortilla. Chips and salsa were good as well. Next time I guess I'll try the margaritas! Horchata is tasty. Had breakfast with my pops here yesterday and the food was amazing!! The staff were friendly and the place is clean with some beautiful wall decor and great music playing!! My dad is almost 95 yrs old so he usually eats like a bird, but he ordered the Huevos Rancheros and loved it!! He cleaned his plate!! I had the combo with a cheese enchilada and a shredded beef taco, they were both delicious, and the rice & beans were good too! They have a great salsa bar with lots of options. I've been to this location twice now because it's my sister's favorite local spot. I sit on the bars side where the table tops are because you get full service there as opposed to the dining side where you have to order at the front and they call your order when it's ready. Ambiance is fun, music is good, I love the complimentary chips with a salsa bar. The margarita primo is premade so it wasn't the best and the food could be better in my opinion. I was staying nearby and wanted a quick meal with outdoor seating that was within walking distance of my hotel, and Caramba met all of those requirements. My friend and I ate here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. This is a quick service restaurant where you place your order at the counter, they fix it, and you pick it up when it's ready, carry it to your table of choice, and clean up after yourselves. They also have a bar that was very popular! We were happy to see a large outdoor patio with plenty of seating, since we prefer not to dine indoors due to COVID. The outdoor seating was partially covered and while no-frills, it was clean. The menu board was a little confusing, and almost everything is served a la carte. It's not cheap, especially for Mexican food, and tacos range from $4 - $6 EACH. Between the two of us, my friend and I ordered a carne asada taco, a grilled shrimp taco, a low carb asada plate, cheese enchiladas, and we got an order of guacamole and a Mexican pizza to share. Look, we like to try different stuff when we go to a new restaurant. All of this food, and it was a ridiculous feast, set us back about $40. We didn't expect the portion sizes to be so big! The tacos are loaded with meat! My asada taco was overflowing. The meat was lightly seasoned and not greasy, which I really enjoyed. The grilled shrimp taco wasn't as good. At a close to $6 menu price, this was a ripoff. There were only a few shrimp, and they were so undercooked that I only ate a couple of them. My friend said her enchiladas were good. The guacamole was barely acceptable. It had that weird olive sort of taste to it, and I prefer more standard guac with nothing but avocados, salt, onion, cilantro, and limes. I would not get the guacamole again. The Mexican pizza was the star! It was far larger than we expected, and was about the size of a medium pizza! The base was a crispy oven cooked flour tortilla that was loaded with cheese, sour cream, olives, green onions, and chicken. The chicken was gross, shredded dark meat, so we picked it off. I would order this again, but I recommend you get it plain and then add salsa to it. The food was good and mostly healthy. They claim to specialize in freshness, with their salsa prepared daily, fresh not frozen meats, and made to order dishes. They had a lot of low carb, low calorie, and vegan (no lard) menu items. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but I'd come back for the Mexican pizza. read more

We wanted some quick Mexican food but not Taco Bell quick. It's been a while since we've been to Caramba's but this one is conveniently located in the westgate area. There is a little cantina or bar attached that has some music going and it was a nice vibe. We ordered a Mexican pizza with chicken and got our bowl of chips and headed to the salsa bar. They have a few different salsas and extras at the salsa bar. We like the chunky medium. Our Mexican pizza didn't take long and it was huge! Full of chicken and toppings with a nice crunchy tortilla on the bottom. Even with all the toppings it stayed crispy and was a great cheap dinner for us. We definitely need to make it in here more often when we crave good quick Mexican food! read more

Been here a few times for take out now and the food is always on-point. I have had the Carne Asada Burrito, Pastor Burrito is amazing with the flavors, the Caramba Famous stuffed quesadilla with beef, chicken or both is great also. My wife always gets the bean and cheese burrito enchilada style and loves it, I have tried some of hers and is really good. Not greasy, great salsas as well, all of them are a MUST try. The Primo margarita is hooked up if your girl likes a nice fuerte drink with the eats like mine does. Service is 6/5 stars if I could, always serving with a smile and the chefs do everything behind glass.. you can see they wear gloves, hairnets, and they cook it to PERFECTION!!
