Problem: The owners do not use Grande cheese because of the cost. I see plenty of room in the price point. Grande is the standard mozzarella cheese in the industry. All across NY, NJ, PA, etc. Grande cheese is the premier choice. I could tell on my first bite. Oh shit, no Grande cheese. The owners need to buck up and purchase the finest ingredients. My pizza was good. Very pleased with the crust, the fermentation of the dough, the toppings. No Grande cheese I am out. Will return when they use Grande cheese. read more

10/10, the food and service are amazing! I came on a busy Saturday evening but was sat and served right away by the bar. You have the options of ordering slices or pies which i appreciated. Absolutely delicious. We stopped by on a Thursday afternoon since we've been hearing such great things about this place. Extremely friendly staff and cute atmosphere. We ordered garlic knots to begin. While they aren't "knots" they were so so so good! The marinara sauce was all I needed to know about this place to determine how well the pizza was going to be and we hadn't even figured out what type of pizza we were getting. We had our waiter pick between and NY pie and a Detroit and he pointed us towards the Roni Detroit. The kitchen ended up burning our pizza so the manager came by and apologized and gave us a free appetizer for the inconvenience. We weren't even mad but that was very nice of them. The appetizer was the Caesar salad and again, so so so good! The croutons were the garlic knots in pieces with a great balance of dressing. Once our pizza arrived I was in awe: cooked perfectly. The marinara NEXT LEVEL. And the pepperoni AMAZING. The crust with cheese OMG. Such a great combination of flavors and we enjoyed every bite. I tried AJs this week during a busy lunch time and it was packed with smiling customers. The service was really good even with all the customers. The servers were working hard and the food came out fast. I tried the pepperoni and cheese pizzas and they were excellent. The thin crust was perfect and the sauce was as well with a slight sweet taste. Kudos to the bartender, cooks and servers they all worked efficiently and were very pleasant. It's not New York style. Slices inconsistent, too thick (pull it more), not crispy, overpriced, small portions. Went when first opened, and revisited. It's a decent pizza don't get me wrong. Dough tastes good, I like the cheese, sauce is too sweet for my tastes, and I'd like some fresh garlic. Don't say it's New York though; that's my biggest issue. Iunno what the rent is on the place, but it's too expensive for what you get as well. I get it's expensive given the area (employees are friendly), but industry wise pizza is the most bang for your buck. Food cost is cheap af. This is Florida pizza, and it's ok. Rather go to flippers chain wise, or pizza Bruno for a specialty pizza. Maybe my expectations were high. I'm disappointed. Bake it more. Always willing to give another shot. Y'all are not New York pizza. y'all are Florida pizza that's meh in an expensive area. read more

After months of waiting for this place to finally die down, it hasn't, so we figured it must be good! The 45 min wait was well worth it! We got a 14" cheese and 14" supreme. Starting with the hosts outside, the vibe was friendly and all about service. They were so happy that we had chosen to check it out. They were so engaged. We got the opportunity to sit at the pizza bar in front of the pizza oven. What a treat and show! These guys were like an orchestra each knowing their own part perfectly in this great symphony. We had the New York Sicilian. We are from Brooklyn and the pizza was perfect. The sauce was perfect! I actually teared up. Everyone made you feel like you were part of the family. It is a new restaurant so I understand that it will take time to get all the kinks out. The service was substandard. The server took the orders of other nearby tables who came after we did so that was frustrating. The Detroit pizza itself was really good but needed more cheese, and also the sauce on top was cold. We were seated right by the speaker so the music was so loud that we couldn't really have a conversation. Overall, this first visit was one big expensive miss but there are enough positive aspects that I will definitely give this place another try. read more

Had a 25 minute wait turn into over an hour for a patio table only to stand outside witnessing a patio table sit empty for 20 minutes then witness another table clear to be seated by someone else. I understand having one group ahead for the larger table but have no idea why leave the table we could have been seated at open? When I asked why the delay I got an apology but no word or anything else. When I claimed we were leaving, they immediately replied with a text removing us from the wait list rather than any kind of remedy. When we went across the street to Chefs Table, the host there came right out to tell us that they were in between brunch and dinner and that they had a very limited menu for us. So he would be happy to give us his card and that the next time we went there to eat he would make sure he take care of us and seat us immediately. Two completely different types of ways to do business. So chef's table now has our business and AJ's pizza will never. read more

This is the best pizza we have had since moving down here and it resembles NY/NJ pizza, though not totally. Our go-to place (very NY/NJ style) recently closed down and our second best place is still 20 minutes away in Dr. Phillips. This will be a welcome relief not having to travel so far. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was surprisingly packed for mid-week. It did recently open and it kind of shows, which I will explain. We went and were told there was a 30-40 minute wait to get a table (it is a very small place in the old Winter Garden Pizza Company location). We almost left but asked if there was takeout and told no and there was no online or phone ordering as it wasn't set up yet since they were concentrating on getting the place going and working out the kinks. We finally decided to stay and wait in the car. They did have a small patio with a heat stanchion but it was still too cool to stand there. Upon entering the service was excellent and attentive. I watched continuous cleaning of the tables by the very numerous staff members.The pizza makers were working like crazy pushing the pizzas or and they even had an Expediter to keep a good flow. The dishes were a surprise as they were stoneware and you were given legit stainless utensils. We had the John's/Bleeker pizza with Pepperoni which was excellent and having had John's pizza several times in my life (we grew up and worked in the NJ/NY Metro area) it was very reminiscent of John's. It was good and hot with a good sauce to cheese ratio and cornmeal on the bottom. The salads unfortunately had minimal choices but it (Arugula) was a decent size, The crust did have a very good taste and reminded me of John's in that it did not flop, so it wasn't like true NY style, it was just like John's own style. The sauce could have used a bit more spice but that is not a big issue. We just ordered soda but the glasses, for some reason, were not full to the top. When we checked in there were still 14 names behind us on the list so they were very busy. They do have wine and beer but it also looked like a full bar. Prices were very reasonable but I do hope they expand their menu a bit or eventually move to a larger location if they continue to be so busy. My one issue is while we were waiting for our pizza, we noted several people walking in and sitting at one of the two bar sections (diner-like stools). We never knew you could walk in and sit at those spots if there was room as this this was never conveyed or offered to us by the Hostess. We would have gladly sat at the bar and not waited had we known this was an option. Like I said kinks to work out. The staff was very amenable and everyone greeted us and were always checked on as to whether we needed anything. Overall, an excellent addition to the area, a much needed legit pizza place (which I hope expands its menu) that takes its product and quality seriously. We will definitely return and try some of their other offerings, but I think we will wait till the crowds slow down a bit. Hopefully, they do not take reservations in the future as this location is so small, reservations would fill the place up and walk ups would never get in, which IMO would actually hurt the business. read more
